43 Disappear?

Cassandra wrote patiently.

Initially, her thoughts were all over the place but soon she realized that it was of no use. If she could not hear the Duke's mind how can she deduce the cunning mind of the war god?

Cassandra sighed as she looked at the book only she could see. The words were a combination of shapes and their letters. Although it was a bit difficult to write, Cassandra tried her best to do justice with it.

'How should I write this?'

Cassandra blinked as she looked at the complicated letters in front of her.

'Should I write whatever I want? The Duke will never know.'

Cassandra was thinking of the possibility but soon she realized that the gaze of the Duke was observing her. She was frightened at the thought of being caught by the man who held so much power.

'Forget it.'

'What if I get caught.'

Cassandra took a deep breath as she blinked and looked at the letters with wide eyes. She tried to draw it in the air just to get her hand to accompany the complicated moment. Although difficult, Cassandra tried to do justice to the writing.

Aiden looked at the fifth Princess and what she was writing. She was so focused on her work that it made his gaze soften. A smile played on his face subconsciously.

But soon Duke Salvador's eyes focused on the paper that the fifth Princess was writing. His height was tall giving him a full view of the paper that the Princess was writing.

Seeing the hand moment of Cassandra made Aiden's gaze look at its moment. And soon Duke Salvador was deeply in thought.

'The fifth Princess is so focused.'

'Her fingers are so small compared to mine.'

'Why is she so frightened all the time?'

'Did she have a difficult time living in the Palace?'

'I had read that she was usually ignored then her life would be comparatively simpler.'

'Or are there others who are troubling her?'

Aiden was still thinking but soon his eyes were on the sheet he had given Cassandra. But soon his hand formed a fist.

He can see Cassandra's hand moment. He can see the ink spreading on the paper and he can also see the words written but as soon as the pen was lifted up and gone to the next word the previous words and letters were invisible. It was as if the Princess was writing in the air and fooling him.

But Duke Salvador knew that the fifth Princess was really making an effort. Her gaze was widened and narrowed. She could try writing the letters in the air just to make sure she would not make any difference but why was it invisible? How can it just disappear?

'What is happening?'

'I have never seen something like this before.'

'Should I make sure that the fifth Princess can still read it?'

Aiden's eyes sharpened as he looked at the Princess who was having a few droplets of sweat on her forehead. She was tired from writing so many pages.

'It is useless to make her write anymore.'

Aiden's hands were stiff as he said in a low voice making sure that he would not frighten the Princess. "Princess. What is this written about?"

Duke Salvador's finger extended to the letter on the page. His body moved forward from his seat as he smiled. Although he could not see what was written he still wanted to know if the Princess could read.

"This?" Cassandra said in a low tone as she looked at the place where the Duke had kept his finger. He had kept it in between two lines.

Cassandra looked up at the Duke as she blinked innocently. She was confused about what he was saying. "Is it the upper word or the lower world?"

Aiden smiled at Cassandra's words. "The upper one."

Cassandra looked at the words as she swallowed. "I am not sure how to pronounce it but in this sentence, it says that the soul should be clean."

Cassandra did not see into Duke Salvador's gaze when she said it. She was a little stressed when answering it.

Duke Salvador smiled as he nodded his hand. Although he knew that he could not read it further, he wanted Cassandra to continue writing. "Hmm … continue .."

Cassandra looked down as her heart was beating faster. She did not know why she was feeling like this with the Duke. Cassandra's breathing would always fasten at times.

'Should I get myself tested?' Cassandra thought as she looked at the diary and started writing. But Cassandra's thoughts were insignificant in the situation where the Duke was staring at her.

Aiden's mind was deeply involved with many questions. He wanted to ask them but feared if he would make the Princess nervous.

'The words written in the diary can only be read by the Princess.'

'No matter if she writes it or not, no one else knows it.'

'It is useless calling her here and making her write anymore. It will waste my time.'

Duke Salvador thought hard as his finger rubbed his forehead. He was trying to come up with a way to make things work.

'I want to know how the Princess taught her lady-in-waiting to concentrate her power.'

'Will the Princess help me?'

Duke Salvador looked at the Princess who was about to finish her last page of writing.

'I have to make the fifth Princess teach me.'

'There is no other way than this. It has to be her because only she knows how to do it.'

Aiden tapped his fingers on the table as his gaze looked at Cassandra who wrote the final words. She smiled in peace as she kept the pen on the table as she rearranged the papers and presented it to the Duke as if she was his assistant.

Aiden took the papers from Cassandra's hand with a smile. He got up from the chair as he walked towards the couch. "Come here and sit." Duke Salvador commanded the fifth Princess.
