59 The Principal

Readers' pov

Jules bit on his bottom lip as he awkwardly stood before a door which apparently lead to where the principal was waiting for him at.

He couldn't help the nervousness brewing in his stomach right now. He has not done anything wrong, so he had no idea why the principal has specifically called for him.

He puffed out a long breath before finally knocking on the door.

"Come in." A voice called out and he exhaled slowly before pushing the door open and stepping in.

The first thing that consumed Jules was shock, so intense that he had to do a double take. He had expected the principal to be middle aged, ugly and with an ugly mustache.

But the principal looked nothing like he had imagined. Instead, the principal looked like he had fallen out of heaven due to how good looking he is. His skin looked extremely pale with piercing red eyes, and the scent he emitted, indicated that he was a vampire.

Jules sucked in a nervous breath before hurriedly bowing his head a little. "G- good morning, principal. You summoned me?"

The principal had on a three pieces suit, deep silver, which made his skin appear even paler. His dark hair flowed down to his nape and his fangs gleamed as he offered Jules a warm, welcoming smile.

"Yes, I did. Please have a seat, Mr. McCarthy." He waved at the seat in front of the desk he was standing in front of and Jules mumbled his thanks as he closed the distance and took the seat, eyes watching as the principal sank into his own seat moments later.

The principal had his hands folded in front of him on the desk and he regarded Jules intently. As he let his eyes fully take in all of the boy, he had to admit to himself that the boy is quite a sight for sore eyes. From the things he had heard about him, he hadn't expected everything about his supposedly flawless visuals to be accurate, but it was.

The principal might look calm and collected on the outside, but on the inside, he was panicking. As he took a closer look at the boy, he silently wondered why he had to be claimed by him of all people.

"So…"

As soon as the principal began to speak, Jules tensed up at once. He had been nervous since the moment he sat down and a tense silence began to stretch out between them.

"How have you been enjoying your stay in our school so far?" The principal inquired and Jules bit at the inside of his cheek while silently wondering if he should be honest with his response or not.

If he'd be honest right now, he'd talk about the intense bullying he faced from the first day he stepped foot into the school. But, Jules didn't want to compromise his stay in this school, because this sudden question might be some sort of test to see if he'd bad mouth the school.

"It's been pretty good, I settled in just fine." Jules responded and he watched as the principal slowly nodded. However, he was taken aback by the principal's next question.

"What is your relationship with Blaze?"

Jules' eyes widened at the question and his mouth fell open. That was the last question he expected to be asked.

As the principal watched the display of emotions on the boy's face, he silently willed him to respond fast, because he needed an answer as fast as possible.

"T- there's no relationship… we're just roommates." The boy responded quietly, eyes trained on his laps and the principal almost growled at him to give him more information, but he wouldn't dare to do that. Not only because he doesn't want to break out of character, but also because the warning he got from Blaze this morning was still very fresh in his memory.

He had just stepped into his temporary office this morning and had gotten the biggest shock of his life on switching the lights on and seeing Blaze lounging in his seat, legs stretched out on his table.

He had instantly grown terrified because for one, his door was locked and he had no idea of how Blaze had gotten into the office, and secondly, because he had just spoken to one of the two boys whom he sent on a mission to bring him the boy a few of the school's sponsors currently have their eyes on.

One of his two boys who got back to him from the mission, arrived with bloodied, broken limbs and was unable to walk or breathe properly. That was the person who had relayed a message to him from Blaze, and was still very fresh in his memory at that period, which was why he grew terrified on stepping into his office and meeting Blaze.

"What do you want with him?" Blaze had asked without moving an inch. The principal had always avoided direct contact with Blaze except necessary. He knew the boy could easily kill him if he wanted to, and his father was gonna have the case buried instantly, so he instantly became on guard.

"The higher ups desire to have him. They saw a picture of him and now they want him." He had responded carefully but Blaze had only snorted before rising to his feet, hands shoved in his pockets.

"You know I don't care about the sick higher ups. I won't repeat this again. Stay away from the boy, all of you. I already claimed him and he's mine now." He growled out and it felt like the principal got shot in the chest at that moment. All his carefully crafted plans had shattered before him at that very second.

He had wanted to get a promotion at all costs for a while now, and the few people in the higher ups team who had agreed to help him, demanded for a taste of the newly enrolled dormant werewolf in return after seeing a single picture of him. The principal had readily agreed to the deal. He had first of all dug deep into the boy, to be sure that the boy didn't come from an influential family who'd be able to cause them any actual trouble, and he had only been able to find a few almost irrelevant things in related to his name, so he was convinced that his plan would go extremely smoothly.

Firstly, he'd give Jules McCarthy to the higher ups. Secondly, they'd help him get promoted to a very high rank. Thirdly, the higher ups will use the boy and will most definitely completely drain all his blood. Fourthly, after the boy dies, he'd dispose of the body. And finally, he'd concoct a fake story leading to the boy's death and he'd pay the boy's family some money in exchange for silence. That plan had worked for him a handful of times, so he had been certain there wouldn't be a problem this time.

But that was because he realized that somehow, Blaze of all people was involved with the boy.

"Are you certain, Mr McCarthy? Just roommates?" The principal echoed and Jules nodded slowly while wondering why the principal was asking him a question like this of all the questions out there.

After about a few minutes of silence, the principal rose to his feet, smiling softly. "Alright, that's all for now, Mr. McCarthy. You may go, and do not hesitate to come to me if you encounter any problems."

As Jules exited the office, he felt the principal's gaze on him throughout, and he had never been this weirded out in a really long while.

Jules' pov

Once outside the office, I was finally able to breathe properly in about thirty minutes. I shoved my hands in my pitchers and began to walk down the empty hallway. I had assumed the worst after getting summoned but it had clearly been for nothing because the principal hadn't even asked him anything serious. That is, apart from the unexpected Blaze's mention.

Once I arrived on the first floor where my friends promised to wait for me, I glanced around the entire crowded place while trying to find them.

As I let my eyes travel over the entire place, an image caught my eyes from the very end of the room, and my mouth slowly parted, right before all the air drained out of my lungs in a single go.

At the other side of the hall, there stood Blaze in all his glory, but he wasn't alone. Beside him stood two slender, shorter boys, and Blaze currently had his arms dangling over their shoulders while they giggled at whatever it was a guy in Blaze's friend group was saying.
