The next day, Athach was awakened by the sound of talking outside.

"It's ten o'clock. Miss Ada hasn't come out yet. Was she killed by Mr. Greef?"

"I don't know. There was too much noise in the room last night, and then there was no sound. It was so quiet that people were afraid. This is something that has never happened before."
