30 Jealousy
He softly taps the shoulder of the sleeping Ellise. But she didn't wake up, instead, she turned to her left side and wrinkled her nose like she was annoyed for having her sleep disturbed.
He chuckled softly and decided to let her sleep more. He slowly removed her seat belt making sure not to disturb her sleep. After removing her seatbelt he pushed the seat button to recline her seat. Having her seatbelt removed and her seat reclined, Ellise stirred in her sleep and continued sleeping peacefully.
His lips curled up in a soft smile watching her sleep, that he decided to remove his own seatbelt too and was about to recline the driver's seat when a man knock on the passenger side window waking up Ellise.
"Huh," she said, disoriented from sleep. She looked up DT and move in her seat confused why it is reclined and her seatbelt already removed.
The man outside, knock on the window again. This time with urgency.
Ellise rolled down the window and pouts on the man.
"What?" she snarled at the man.
She said in a tone showing familiarity that made DT raised his eyebrows. From what he knows about her, she only shows anger to people in her inner circle, the rest, she shows only one emotion, -- that is disinterest.
The man put his head inside the car and gave DT a menacing look.
"What are the two of you doing?" he asked in a questioning tone. "The car has been parked for a while and yet none of you got out. And look at these reclined chairs."
Ellise pushed the door on her side, but since the man is blocking it from the outside, that the door won't budge.
DT was speechless with how strong this man is coming on him. Who is he to act like... a jealous lover? DT furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance and mentally shook off the thought in his head. Ellise doesn't have a boyfriend, is she?
"Could you please move so I could get out?" she asked while pushing the passenger door.
But instead of moving out of the way, he grabbed Ellise jaw and turn it sideways to have a good look on her face. Bent over to Ellise ears and murmurs something.
Watching what is happening, DT felt a strange emotion raising from his chest. His forehead is etched with deep lines and the corner of his mouth are curling in a tight smile of disapproval.
Ellise laughs at the man, "Don't be silly." she said softly tapping his cheek. It seems like that's all the assurance he needs because a fond smile curled on his lips and pulled out his head from the car, and pulled the passenger door for Ellise to get out.
DT's hand automatically grabbed Ellise wrist before she could step out of the car, and stared at Ellise's confused face.
"Who is he?" he asked with his eyebrows knitted.
"Let go," she said pulling her wrist.
"Ellise," he said, but has no idea why he is calling her and not letting her out of the car. His hand just moved on its own.
Ellise is pulling her hand away from DT with all her might, wrinkled her forehead, and gave DT a disgruntled look because she doesn't want DT to have an idea how her heart is thumping wildly on her chest.
"Hey, you!" he said, nodding his head in DT's direction. "Why don't you step out of the car instead of keeping Ellise inside."
DT blinked and snapped out of his own jealousy and let go of Ellise's arm. Seeing that she softly massaged her arm, right after he felt guilty and apologized.
"Give me my car key," she said in a flat tone.
DT pulled the car key from the car ignition without a word. He put in on her waiting opened palm. And he watched her got out of the car.
She slammed the passenger door when she got out, which made DT flinched on his seat before he got out from the driver's seat.
When he got out of the car, he saw Ellise and the tall man talking in a low voice, head bent too near to each other.
DT cleared his throat loudly to get the attention of the two, that are acting like they already have forgotten that he is still here.
"DT, this is Andrew," she said, motioning to the man that is quite tall, DT just realized now that he is also out of the car.
"Andrew, this is DT. He is one of the team captains in the WIZ." she said, nonchalantly that pissed off DT but he tried to control his facial expression and just extend his hand to the man named Andrew for a handshake.
"Hello, DT. My apology. I didn't know that you're one of Miss E's team members in the WIZ." he said.
DT kept a tight smile on his lips because this man is seriously making him angry. What's with the fake apology in front of Ellise, he thought. And why is he calling Ellise in her gamer's name?
"Nice to meet you, Andrew," he said, trying to act civil to this man in front of Ellise.
He just smirked at him and didn't respond, rather he grabbed Ellise's hand and put it on his arm, urging Ellise to move forward to enter the house with Parisian architecture in front of them.
"Bye DT," she said, gripping the arm Andrew offered to her. "Thanks for driving me home. See you in the WIZ."
DT totally lost his composure seeing that Ellise is casually holding the man's arm like it is not her first time doing it. He was about to open his mouth to say something when Ellise turned around and starting walking to the black wrought iron gate, without giving him a second glance.
DT clenched his fist beside his hips, took a deep breath to remind himself that is it his fault that Ellise is acting towards him in this manner because of his stupidity from two years ago.
He watched the two entered the gate that a middle-aged open woman in a maid uniform opened for them. DT heaved another breath of frustration thinking that there are too many things in Ellise's life he no longer knows.
