58 In The Waiting Room

Together with Mr. Wan, they were watching Miss E’s interview from the waiting room. One was monitoring the stream of the interview on Twitch and it was on fire! Miss E’s nonchalant way of answering questions was loved by the people on the Twitch chat.

“Why did you send Miss E for that interview?” He was still laughing at how Asya was caught on camera looking so pissed off.

DT who was slumping on the chair strengthened his back and leaned forward to his uncle to hear what he would answer to Grand’s question.

“Having two teams in the club was expensive. We needed sponsors, and none of you were charming enough to get us the much needed sponsor. That’s why I sent Miss E for an interview.” he grinned, looking proud of his decision.

“Ellise will kill you,” he muttered under his breath.

“Miss E understood how this kind of thing works. If anyone would understand why I made that call, it would be her. She does not just play, but knows the business side of it all,” he grinned, feeling truly proud of himself, “Besides, look at her killing that interview.”

“True!” Grand scoffed, “Miss E owned the interview like a pro,” he turned sideways to face Mr. Wan, “Maybe DT was worried because Asya was being bashed online with how clearly she doesn’t like Miss E.”

DT kicked Grand’s seat in front of him.

Mr. Wan glanced over his shoulder to look at DT, “Are you? When are you going to get over your crush on Asya? That’s stupid admiration of yours had gone long and cost you enough.”

Grand furrowed his eyebrow with the annoyance under Mr. Wan’s voice. He was surprised to hear that he does not agree with DT liking Asya. As far as everyone knows, Asya and Mr. Wan were friends since they both used to play in the same team, that got the country the first championship for CTF.

Hearing differently shocked him. He stole a glance over DT who suddenly had a morose expression on his face. ‘Interesting,’ he grinned inwardly.

A sudden burst of laughter from the boys who abandoned watching the interview on TV and just watched the stream of the said interview on Twitch for it was more exciting to read the opinion of the fans about Miss E.

“Hey, if you guys are going to watch the interview stream, why won’t just cast it on the TV screen so we could all watch?”

One who was the one in charge of monitoring the Twitch stream agreed that it was a good idea and cast the stream on the TV that was hanging on the wall of their waiting room.

And just like what One said, the Twitch chat was on fire!

Mr. Wan grinned like he already got a sponsor deal as he stared at the television screen. “Miss E is a success with her interview right now because of her looks, but let them gawk at her beauty until she kicked their asses, and by then she would be a huge sensation in CTF circle.”

“Indeed. You are brilliant, boss!”

“Don’t just be good at giving compliments, Grand. Win the game. Let them see what your team can do, but tell Miss E to hold back a bit. We don’t want the other club to know her full potential.”

“With all, she said in the interview, the other teams were probably shaking in their pants now,” he laughed softly. “But don’t worry, we’ll play a game where Miss E’s would shine not just because of her pretty face.”

“Her Weibo account followers now tripled in numbers!” Seven was checking their online stats as the interview was ongoing. “Our official account too gathered more followers. We are now reaching three million followers and the photo of Grand’s team was being shared by thousands!”

“After the interview, all of you relax and get ready for the game,” he stood up, cracking his knuckles, “I will go out and meet our potential sponsors.”

When Mr. Wan left the room and the rest of the team were still busy fussing over Miss E and reading all the comments online with the ongoing interview, he leaned back and glanced over at DT who had been quiet.

“Hey, why does your uncle doesn’t like your girlfriend?”

DT’s eyebrows furrowed in annoyance over Grand interest in his love life. “Mind your own business.”

He scoffed, “Huh? Mind my own business and yet you kept on giving me a death glare every time I got near Miss E. What’s with that? Is she your business? Aren’t you worried that your girlfriend would get jealous? Or maybe she already was. I mean, with how she handled that interview.”

DT gritted his teeth as he heaved a deep sigh, he leaned into Grand’s shoulder, “Get up. Let’s talk outside.” he said in a voice enough for him to hear.

The rest of the team were too busy to mind them. Until they both stood up and went out of the waiting room.

“Where are they going?” Spirit asked.

“No idea. But why DT looks so pissed off.” One looked at Seven, “Should we call Mr. Wan or Ghost?”

“Don’t worry about it. They both know what they are doing,” he said nonchalantly but he already stood and followed DT and Grand outside.

The rest of the team stood up as well. Abandoning the stream of the pre-game interview since Miss E is no longer the one being interviewed.

“If you all don’t go back inside, I’ll make sure your life will be a living hell on the game floor for the rest of the season,” he said in a chilly tone, hands were shove deep inside his pants pockets.

“Heh, Boss. I was just looking outside.” he stammered when he saw DT leaning on the wall right outside the door.

“Where did they go? Did you see?” One asked, craning his neck outside.

Seven pushed him inside and closed the door.

“What?”

He cocked his thumb outside the door, mouthing to the rest of the team, “DT was outside and angry.”

The excitement for juicy gossip about the two team captains dissipated in the air once they learned that DT was angry. No one wants to see an angry DT, especially on the game floor. They value their lives and careers.

They all went back inside the waiting room like a bunch of obedient sheep.
