Can You See Me For Once?

"I need you, Calla" Samuel whispered near my lips breathing heavily even before any kisses. He pushed me against the nearby wall his hands on my waist, his body pressing against mine. I tried to push him with my hands on his chest. My breathing became rugged due to his closeness. " Stay still, Ame." He whispered leaning near my ear. My thrashing subsided hearing that nickname. When he raised his head to look at my eyes, I saw him smirking. "Ho...w? How do you know? " I asked him fearing his answer. "Who doesn't know, baby?" He asked me mocking my feelings. I closed my eyes a lone tear spilling down my eyes. "Please, Samuel! Leave me." I spoke cracking not opening my eyes afraid he will see my vulnerability in them. "That's the problem. I can't afford to keep you, Calla. But, I am unable to leave you too. I don't know what to do anymore. Please give me a solution, Calla. Please, I beg You!" He shakes my shoulder making me open my eyes at his words. He took a step back upon seeing the mix of vulnerability, hurt, helplessness, pain, heartbreak, and an ocean of love in them. I took that an opportunity to leave before things go out of hand but not before saying his solution. " Forget that even a person called Calla existed, Ame. Because no amount of my love for you is enough for me to become a homewrecker. I will die before I can become that. Remember that." I looked at his eyes with nothing but truth while saying this. I left before he can stop me.

A nice choice

"Pleasure to finally meet you, Ms. Calla" A strong, male voice attracted my attention.

It was Andrew Williams.

He was looking really good for a man in his fifties. His eyes were empty, lifeless just thirsty for revenge.

His lips were lit up in a fake smile that even a clueless idiot identify.

His face is a complete example of how a man will be if he was going through hell and never-ending longing for someone.

Despite every pathetic feature of him, his eyes were burning with the passion for destroying everything he can.

He gracefully sat in front of me while looking into my eyes as if showing me a glimpse of what would happen to me as a consequence of my decision.

I can read it well.

I can clearly see the promise written in that burning green eyes.

They vowed to show the hell.

I lifted my chin high and gave him a once-over look.

I crossed my legs and tilted my head to side.

I gave him a lop-sided grin.

"What a surprise! Mr. Williams. I was waiting for your arrival for quite a time. But I am disappointed in you. I thought you are better than this." I Squinted my eyes, twisting my lips to mock him.

His eyes were twinkling with amusement while his lips were set in a thin line.

"Oh! Is it? I just don't want to scare you. I mean the last one ran away for a mere attack. So, I was generous to give you some time to enjoy your very short joy." By the minute he finished his words, all the amusement in his eyes vanished like it was never there in the first place.

I entwined my hands before placing them in my lap, my chin lightly sitting on my entwined arms. I leaned forward to show him that I am least bothered by his threat.

"Are you sure, Mr. Williams? Do you think Amelia ran away? Don't you think that I may be marrying Samuel to save that family?" I asked smirking, lightly raising my left eyebrow.

"Oh! I know better than that. Don't you think it's foolish to love someone like that? Do you seriously take me as a fool to believe that you are marrying him just for contract or money? " He said laughing as if finding some actual humor in it.

He leaned forward to lightly pat my head.

"You love him, don't you?" He said in a low, dangerous tone.

I smiled widely which startled him.

"Wow! you are quite a sharp one, Mr. Williams!" I said lightly clapping to mock him.

"That I am!" He said in an evil, expressionless voice.

My smile suddenly came to a halt making me look dangerous like cold ice.

"Since you know well, I want to try your best. But remember one thing, You are dangerously walking on thin ice. Mr. Williams, don't underestimate me. If you can kill for your loved ones, so can I!" I said before standing up to hug him.

"All the best, old man!" I said near his eyes before turning to walk away.

But before I can take a step, he stopped me by holding my hand in a tight grip.

When I looked at him behind my shoulder, I saw an looking at me by craning his neck, his eyes filled with unspoken surprise.

"This time, he chose well" were the words he said before standing up and walking away.

"For now" I silently whispered to myself while watching that old man walk away.

"So, What did he say?" Mr. Foster asked sipping his tea as grateful as possible.

Well, the party ended house ago. Now in the early night, I am in front of this family to discuss our future plans.

He was sitting on the sofa in front of me with legs crossed, Samuel on his left, Amelia on his right.

His wife and daughter are on another sofa across my side.

Oh! Amelia didn't attend the party for obvious reasons.

But what hurt me is the visible tear strains on her cheeks.

"That You chose well this time," I said with a blank expression.

"I am" He simply nodded to himself his eyes frowned in concentration.

"Chosen well?" Mrs. Foster scoffed making me roll my eyes at her.

Elle just chucked at that.

"Well, he kind of threatened me which is kinda expected. Other than that nothing!" I said rubbing my face with my hand.

I was feeling a burning sensation on the side of my face. I turned towards the source.

It is Samuel.

He looked at me intently, his eyes brows furrowed as if he was trying to read me.

I scoffed at him, raising an eyebrow at him in question.

He looked away.

"So, what's our next move?" I asked looking at Mr. Foster expectantly.

"What else? We have to wait till the wedding is finished." He said blankly, shrugging his shoulders.

I sighed heavily at that making everyone's eyes turn towards me in attention.

"Mr. Foster. I was thinking to speak about this with you." I said waiting for his reaction on this.

Nothing. A nod with a blank face.

"I want a simple registered marriage. That too in this week. I don't want to ruin Emily's wedding in case Andrew plans something." I said carefully, not able to gauge their reactions.

"No!" Samuel's voice boomed across the living room of their almost instantly.

"How dare you? James, I already told you that she has some other intentions. but you don't listen to....." Mrs. foster's annoying lament was cutoff by James Foster's short, curt reply.

"Ok!" He said looking at me despite all the chaos around us.

"What? No Dad! You can't do...." Again Samuel was cut off by his father's deadly tone.

"It's final, Samuel. She is right. We can't ruin a real wedding for a fake marriage. Moreover, the soon we finish this problem, the soon you can marry Amelia!" He concluded in a tone with a final declaration.

At his words, Samuel's face turned helpless.

My heart clenched at the word "fake"

"What if something happens to you?" A tiny, horse voice which is evident that she has been crying all afternoon came to me.

I smiled at her reassuringly.

"I won't die," I said in a firm, strong tone, my eyes burning with the truth.

"How can you say that?" Samuel asked with a scoff.

"Because I have Aaron by my side," I said with a wide smile, my mind drowning in nostalgia.
