Amelia was half asleep in the car, when she heard something and her eyes opened widely.

GUNSHOT!!!! SHE HEARD A GUNSHOT!!!!

Amelia wasn't sure she had heard a gunshot, either. She thought she might be dreaming, but she wasn't dreaming when she heard another shot, and the shot was fired at the car this time around. The bullet pierced the side window of the car and then the driver's arm was hit by another bullet and he immediately applied the brakes. The driver was strong enough to be able to handle the car otherwise they might have ended in an accident.
