Doctor's Orders

Dr. Claire Hammond sat facing the two young people in her office. She had been seeing Cian for over a year due to his father's connections and the incident that damaged his mind. As an enchanter, she had seen the curse that Samantha had placed on him and had been doing research to find a way to unwind the spell from Cian mind without harming him, but now she was dealing with the actions of another person who did what she felt was right but in her efforts complicated things greatly.

"First. I won't tell your father about what has happened." Said, Dr. Hammond. Cian and Koray let out the breath that they didn't know they were holding.

"I am not going to tell him cause I think that Koray's spell helped the situation and if I told the Feds what happened they would lock her and her roommate up."

Koray was shocked at that. "Why would they lock up Simone?" Koray asked.

"Because she is the one that taught you that spell."

Koray was shocked that Dr. Hammond knew that.

"Surprized. You shouldn't be. Jason did his job and ran a background check on you and your roommate. This type of spell comes naturally to a succubus. And I have a wide range of knowledge when it comes to enchantments, curses, and hexes. It is why I am good at my job." Said Dr. Hammond.

"I am glad you see the bright side of things doctor." Said Cian.

"Cian hush. You know a lot. Your dad has trained you well but something can be said about life experience. Right now you two think that only a romantic love can strengthen the bond but love can be shared between friends." Said Dr. H.

Cian and Koray were a little shocked by the fact that they didn't think of that.

"I can tell by your expressions you didn't think of that. And I can also see the two of you like each other and want to see where this goes. I do think you need to talk to Cian about your feelings Koray."

"He knows how I feel about him. With the pact, I can not hide my feelings from him" Responded Koray.

"You need to tell him about your feeling for Simone." Said the Doctor.

Cian could feel the shock in Koray and then the fear in her heart.

"Cian could you step out for a moment." Asked the Doctor.

Cian wanted to stay but trusted Dr. Hammond so he left the room.

"Don't worry. This room is soundproof and I have a white noise machine built-in for privacy. Now you need to be honest with yourself and with him about Simone."

"I have never told anyone. Not even Simone." Said Koray.

"How can I have something with Cian if I may be into Simone as well?"

Dr. Hammond laughed not at Koray but her innocence.

"How much do you know about shapechangers?" Asked Dr. Hammond

"A little. They are people with the heart and soul of a beast within them. The beast doesn't control them but habits from the parent creature can fall over to the shapechangers."

"That is true.' Said the doctor as she opened up her phone and began pulling files to send to Koray. With a swipe of her hand, she sent a few files over to Koray.

"What are these?" asked Koray.

"Some light reading about Lions and their pride. And polyamory," said Dr. Hammond.

"You need to be honest with yourself and with the people you care about. Cian is a good guy and he isn't one to judge. The two of you are bonded now and if you are to have any kind of relationship or friendship with either or both of them you need to be honest with yourself first and then with them."

Koray sighed and began to think about what comes next.

"I want you and Cian to have couples counseling and individual counseling as well. My office will set things up and I will bill Cian's parents." Koray began to protest

"Don't worry. Cian's parents will pay anything to have Cian be better and I believe this will help."

"Thank you. I should go." Said Koray.

"You have a lot to think about. And don't be surprised if Simone already knows how you feel. And Cian is not stupid and he is linked to your emotions. He will figure it out soon rather than later."

Koray stood up and hugged Dr. Hammond.

"Thank you. Doc."

Koray left the office and Cian was already getting up so they could leave. Dr. Hammond watched as Koray extended her hand and Cian took her hand without a thought.

"To be young again."

Koray was silent in the car. Cian could feel her emotions. He knew she was feeling confused and scared but even though she created the spell that bound the two together he felt that reading too much of what she felt was an invasion of privacy. Koray could feel Cian's emotions. He was worried about her and unfortunately feeling his emotions made it hard for her to focus on her own.

"Stop that." sniped Koray. "I can literally feel you worrying about me."

"Sorry. I can not really help it. The bond and all." Said Cian.

Cian turned left at a light and suddenly slammed on the brakes. In front of him, there was an accident. A minivan had hit a car on the street and another car T-boned the van.

"Cian save them." Koray's words hit Cian like a train. He felt power surge within him and he knew it was not his own. Cian was out of the car and running for the van. The world around Cian was full of color. His hearing was 100% better and his eyes seemed to notice everything around him. He could see that the van had children inside and the driver was injured. Cian grabbed the pickup truck front embedded into the van and just moved it like nothing. Normally for Cian to have this much strength he would have to be in his hybrid form but now he felt empowered by something else. Cian ripped the side door off the van. He scanned the children first. Cian was trained in first aid and knew not to move anyone without medical assistance. He knew enough to make sure everyone was not in immediate danger and then moved to the driver. She was pinned and bleeding. Cian ripped his shirt and used it to tunicate the woman's head. Cian could see the paramedics moving to help.

"Over here!" he yelled and the paramedics moved over. Cian explained the situation.

One paramedic checked the kids and with the help of Koray and other bystanders moved them to safety while the other two worked on the mother.

"We can bandage her wounds and prep her for moving but until the rescue crew gets here we can not get her out." Said, one paramedic.

"I can get her out." Said Cian.

The three paramedics look skeptical but prepped the woman for moving. When she was ready Cian grabbed hold of the steering wheel that was pressing in on the woman and the opposite side of the door frame and began to push. Cian was straining but the van gave way and soon the woman was free. The paramedics placed the woman on a stretcher and moved her to their vehicle. Cian looked around at the scene and none of this made sense.

"Koray." Cian didn't have to raise his voice. The two were connected and she was at his side in a moment.

"Something is wrong here." Said Cian.

"I can feel it too." Said Koray.

The two of them began to reach out with their magical senses. They could feel magic lingering around this accident.

"Someone caused this." Said Koray.

Suddenly they both felt it. Magic gathering near them. They looked up at a building nearby and saw a masked figure casting a spell.

"Everyone take cover." Yelled Koray.

Cian was already gathering power to defend the nearby people. The masked figure launched out lances of light at the unsuspecting paramedics on the scene. Cian grabbed Koray's hand and power flowed through them both. Everyone could feel the temp drop as a wall of ice was erected protecting several people from the light spells. Koray also felt the power flowing and summoned her hellfire and as Cian was protecting Koray was on the attack. Three spheres of hellfire sped at the masked man. The masked man dodges two but was hit by the third. The hellfire burns the figure's left arm and did enough damage to ensure they wouldn't be able to use it. The entire exchange took only 12 seconds. Cian was not idle at that time. He was gathering lightning to smite this masked person. The person in the mask was not stupid. He knew that this was not the time or place to face two skilled casters. Using their powers over light he simply disappeared. Cian's and Koray's adrenaline began to wane and they both could feel the drain to their systems. It was then they looked around to see that at least a dozen people had their phones out and recorded the entire exchange. People began to cheer as the two recovered but only moments later did the police show up. The officers secure the scene and take Koray and Cian into custody.
