Chapter 4: The connection

"Little one, are you sure about this? You really want to leave?"

"Yes grandpa. I'd come to visit you soon. Just wait for me and also, take your meds and be good, ok?"

The old man smiled and stroked her hair gently. "I wish you well little one".

The young girl nodded and took her stuffs. She looked at the old man one last time before sh left.

It has been five years. Five years had actually passed. And Ariel Lorenzo had finally returned. She boarded her flight to Texas. She had some business to deal with there. A lot had happened in the past years and she didn't want to think about it. Maybe not just yet.

The flight to Texas took 30 minutes to arrive. She alighted and put on her dark sunglasses. It made her look cool and not to be trifled with. She walked to the entrance and a blue Avalon saloon car was parked in front. The driver came down smiling so brightly.

"Welcome back sweetie" , Tyra screamed happily. She wrapped her arms around Ariel in a tight hug. Tears brimmed the edges of her eyes. Her bestie.....

Ariel let her have her way. After that, they entered the car. On their way, Tyra gave her a low-down on some matters. Ariel nodded as she listened. She took out a candy and plopped it into her mouth.

Tyra looked at her friend and bit down hard on her lips to avoid whimpering.

"You should stop at Dragon area", Ariel said. Tyra arched a brow.

Ariel chuckled. "Don't look at me like that."

"Tell me about it Ariel", she said as she parked the car.

Ariel shrugged and alighted th car. Tyra alighted and chased after her. "Hey bestie! You're hiding things now?"

Ariel didn't other stopping. Tyra followed her all the to her apartment.

Dragon area was a place known to belong to elites. Those who lived there should have the account brimming with 6-digits or even more. It wasn't that she was looking down on Ariel but....

The elevator dinged and the door opened. She walked out. Her steps were a bit fast and she didn't see the person standing in front of her. She slammed her head into the person's chest. And it was...damn!

She looked up and her hazel eyes drowned into the person's cold blue ones.

The man looked at her and his brow arched. She tried to run but he held her waist in his strong arms. He leaned forward, and whispered, "You are finally back".

Ariel gave a start. She squeezed herself out from his arms. " You should have some manners", she said her face so cold.

Rex smiled at her. This made Ariel unable to react. She didn't even know how to deal with this man. She ignored him and started walking away. Rex just let her leave.

What a cutie little thing!

Tyra looked at the man. She nearly froze at his cold face. How could his countenance change at such speed?? What did she do?? She ran out of the elevator and chased after Ariel.

Rex looked in their direction and then at his assistant. "How has she been this year's?"

He walked into the elevator. "Boss, everything has been under your control".

The man nodded. She had finally come back. Whatever she wanted to do, he was going to be on her side. Even if it means killing someone.
