Chapter 18: A beautiful chess piece

The handsome man looked at Ariel with an unfathomable gaze. Ariel didn't know how to describe it but it made her feel irritated. She hated being looked at that way.

"Mister, seems like you have nothing to say. We'll take our leave now", Ariel said and pulled Gina away. Ariel was waiting for him to say something to them but, he was silent. She furrowed her brows but didn't bother to turn. She kept pulling Gina and Tyra till they were out of the ge hall.

From the corner of his eyes, Daniel Rodrigo saw Rex Forbes looking at him with a col gaze. He knew best what to do at the moment but, that didn't mean he would stop chasing after her. He had found something on him and....the fun game has finally started.

The Rodrigos and the Forbes were the well-known competitors in Texas and in the whole of the US. This made them sworn enemies. If any of the Rodrigos and the Forbes should appear at the same occasion, their presence won't go unnoticed. However, in the recent years, the Rodrigos developed a knocked knee when Daniel Rodrigo took over. He was a man who was always with women. And women always wanted to be with him. He knew how to make them happy; he knew what they wanted, what they wanted in a minute and what they will want in the next minute. In summary, he was a player. He had noticed Gina when she countered those guests at Kiera's arrival and he wanted her but, when he saw Ariel, a different kind of flame was fanned within him. He didn't know why but when he saw Rex giving him a cold gaze, he knew that it was a flame of victory. He had found a very beautiful chess piece that would make the game more entertaining and at the same time, pleasurable.

Ariel sneezed when they were in the car. Tyra and Gina gasped. Tyra grabbed a blanket that was placed at the corner of the passenger seat and draped it on her. "You ok girl?"

Ariel nodded. Gina looked at her with teary eyes. All her walls and defenses crumbled when she saw this big sis. She was so cool and....oh no

Gina couldn't continue her thought when Ariel took off her veil. Her breathing hitched in her throat.

What the hell? "How could she be so... pretty? Is this the reborn of Aphrodite??

"Breathe Gina". Gina breathed.

"Big sis, why are you covering your face? You're so beautiful! "

" I need time "

Gina arched her brows." Are you hiding from someone big sis? Tell me that idiot that's making you hide such beauty!" Gina frowned hard. She looked like she would kill the person immediately if she was told.

Ariel found this action amusing and chuckled. Tyra teared up. Thank you Jesus! Thank you Lord!

She thought she would never see her bestie smile ever again. It was all thanks to Gina.
