ICE PRINCE, FIRE PRINCE!!

Back at their shack, Raine and Eclipse thought they were finally done with that creepy forest. Maui and Daisy were already fast asleep on the mat that was spread out on the floor. Eclipse suddenly said, "I've got to be dreaming. This can't be real."

Raine kept pulling her hair while thinking about everything that had happened in the space of a day. "I can't agree more. Although during our time in the forest, everything felt kinda natural, but now it's just so surreal. I really can't believe that supernaturals are real, but we saw them with our own two eyes. And one of them seems to have a thing for you."

Eclipse blushed after hearing Raine talk about Jesse. "Like I don't know that you and Alexander have been doing some...'things' behind everyone's back. C'mon tell my why you followed that handsome fellow so late at night". While saying this Eclipse was wiggling her eyebrows like she was sure Alexander and Raine did something.

Now it was Raine's turn to blush. "Shut up you. I told you that nothing happened. We didn't do anything like you think. Aggghhh, how did your mind become so dirty? It seems Fire Prince is influencing you negatively. You're so spoiled and rotten now. We only went into the forest and came back and as to why I followed him..." Raine started stroking her chin trying to find out why she followed him and she couldn't come up with anything. She looked at Eclipse who had raised one of her perfect brows. "I actually don't know why I followed him". These words were whispered as Eclipse did have a point. Following him to a dark place seemed kind of shady.

Eclipse bursted into laughter, "You were actually ranting away like you committed a crime hmm." Eclipse wiggled her brows more and after seeing that Raine's face was red like a boiled crab, she decided to stop teasing her. "Don't worry sissy, I know nothing happened between you and Ice Prince, I was only teasing you".

Raine and Eclipse continued chatting not knowing that they were practically on the wanted list and a bounty was placed on their heads. But instead of regular bounty hunters, they were being hunted by supernatural bounty hunters with Raine having the highest bounty for reasons unknown to everyone including the gorilla shifters. Only the Shades and the Vampires knew the reason why Raine was more special than Eclipse. And probably some other beings unknown to the shifters.

After chatting for a while, they decided to sleep. Since Raine and Eclipse became close 10 years ago, they were practically sisters glued to each other at the hip. This was why they often slept in one person's house most times. They were currently in their small room which was so tiny that they could cover the entire room in 10 steps. As Eclipse moved to blow out the candle, she looked outside the rickety window into the dark. She could make out 4 huge figures staring intently at her house.

They looked like humans but were wider and taller. She was about to scream when one of them got to her side at an unimaginable speed and covered her mouth. On a closer look, She could see that it was Beast in a more...well, beastly form. He was bigger and his canines were large and sharp. His eyes were glowing a soft red and orange, like flames which reminded her of Jesse's eyes when he was in a normal state. This further proved that Jesse in his normal form was as strong as the second strongest flame gorilla shifter in a partially shifted form.

Her heart finally calmed down and Beast let go of her. Raine came over to see what was taking Eclipse so long and almost screamed in fear, for the creature before her was imposing, intimidating and terrifying. Beast proceeded to do same with Raine and covered her mouth, thereby muffling her screams. When she saw that it was Beast, she calmed down as well.

"There's no need for you girls to be alarmed. I and the other shifters are here for your protection", Beast informed them.

"What do you mean?", Raine asked.

"What I'm saying is that your presence was made known to the other suoernaturals when you both stepped into the forest. Jesse has ordered that at least 4 shifters will be on guard everyday, especially at night keeping watch over you girls. If we don't do this, you both as well as your family members might possibly be dead before three days are up. I hope you understand".

Hearing what Beast said, the girls could make out that if these shifters weren't on standby, they could die at any moment. They now felt like goldfishes in the middle of sharks. Eclipse didn't want anything to happen to Maui and Daisy, her only family, so she agreed. "Okay. We understand. Please, I really don't want anything to happen to granny and aunt." She had a worried expression on her face and Beast said to assure her, "Don't worry, as long as we're here, nothing will happen to any of you. Jesse's promise to you Eclipse."

Eclipse smiled and Raine kept on nudging her, and making sounds while wiggling her brows. It was her turn to tease now. Eclipse slapped her hand and said goodnight to Beast. Beast returned to his post and Eclipse couldn't help but notice that they blended in with the darkness as if they were shadows. They reminded her of trained assassins. She blew out the candle and darkness engulfed the room. Raine and Eclipse laid down on the mats and before they could close their eyes, they heard a very loud howl.

Their heartbeats sped up knowing that that didn't sound like a normal wolf. The howl was stronger, louder, and had an eery undertone to it. "Don't worry. The shifters are here to protect us". Raine said, trying to convince herself more than she was trying to convince Eclipse.

They heard the howl again, but it was consecutive now. They could see the light of the full moon shining through the window. They knew that those howls were made by werewolves. They forcefully closed their eyes and after an hour, sleep claimed them.

True to their words, the shifters didn't let any supernatural get close to that little shack. When the werewolves approached the shack, they could see the first level shifters standing guard. They knew that they couldn't take on first level partially shifted gorillas. They retreated back into the forest.
