I BELIEVE
LATE AFTERNOON...
Raine and Eclipse were sitting on a log of wood at Raine's house. They were both in deep thoughts before Raine said to her best friend, "Eclipse, I'm still thinking about that rustling sound we heard back at the farm". "Me too Raine. I wonder what or who made that sound. I have a feeling that someone was watching us. You know that that sound came from the forbidden forest right?". "Yes, I know that. That forest is so eery and creepy. Mother and Granny told me lots of stories about that forest when I asked them about it. They said that the people who wandered into that forest never came back dead or alive. No one knew how they were, if they were alright or not. Mother said that people have heard sounds coming from that forest that don't sound natural.".
After hearing all these things Raine said, an expression of utter horror could be seen on Eclipse's face. "But Raine, there's something I want to share with you.". Eclipse looked worried and thought that she had to Tell Raine about it. Raine gave Eclipse her full and undivided attention. Eclipse took a deep breath before saying, "There are times when I feel that the forest is calling out to me. I hear some strange whistling sound, like a call, and then suddenly I'm in a daze and walk over to the forest. The call urges me to enter the forest, but I always resist and snap out of my daze. This has happened quite a number of times. There was a time I saw someone in a black coat, and in the blink of an eye, the person was gone. Sometimes I feel that someone is watching me, I don't know what's happening to me Raine."
Raine looked at Eclipse thoughtfully and asked, "Do you believe in supernatural creatures? The villagers believe that the forest filled with them but do not have the courage to check it out. Maybe the person you saw was a supernatural creature." "Yes Raine. I do believe in supernatural creatures but sometimes I just feel that it's all my imagination and that these creatures don't exist. There are few times where I had a strange dream. In the dream, there was a war going on between about five kinds of supernaturals, but I couldn't see exactly what kinds of creatures they were as i was not very close to where the war was happening. All these things started happening when I turned 18 years old. I thought they will stop with time but it's only getting worse. I'm literally losing it. I'm going crazy", Eclipse was frustrated as she pulled her hair with her two hands.
"Eclipse...there's only one way to solve this problem. Don't tell mother or grandma anything. We'll go to the forest this evening to find out what's calling you into the forest. We'll find answers this evening." Eclipse's jaw hit the ground after hearing what Raine said. "I know that you've always been a daredevil since you turned 13 but you're crossing the line now. Are you crazy? You know that people who walk into that forest never come back. Even our ancestors couldn't go there and come back alive, what makes you think that we would be so lucky as to go there and come back unscathed." Raine didn't seem to care about what Eclipse had to say as she already made up her mind that she was going to that forest come rain come sunshine. "If we die, so be it. At least granny and mom have each other. Today we'll go to the forest. If you don't want to go with me, I'll go alone."Raine said with a loud huff and Eclipse had to agree because she couldn't let her best friend go alone.
