Chapter 68: baby sittings pretty fun?

I accepted.

What did you expect? Me to say no? Hell no! I already felt bad for the poor girl being stuck in the Nightosphere. Though it came with a list of problems. Like right now, I find myself watching the girl try to sneak away for the sixth time this week—note it's only Monday. Honestly, I felt sympathetic enough for her plight and want to find Simon, but I wasn't letting her wander this land. She wasn't her future self yet and still hadn't reached the strength she had in the original, so letting her wander these vampire-infested lands was not going to happen.

'Lets let her go further this time' She was honestly pretty skilled even using empress ability to take down and knock out the gaurds around her chambers but she soon gave up as I stood right outside the side door she choose to exit my home which now was a two floor mansion.

*Go to bed* She quickly did as order with heavy stomps of her feet as she did I made sure to wake up the guards as I followed her making sure she went back to her room.

The next day, I decided to take Marceline vampire hunting, because why not? Turns out, it was pretty fun! Though I must admit, watching Marceline fight with the axe her dad gifted her was pretty interesting. In all honesty, even though her style was pretty barbaric, every attack was lethal and efficient. However, she seemed more impressed by me, as I simply used ice magic to wipe out swathes of vampires.

She even asked if I learned my magic from Simon, to which I shook my head and answered obviously no. But I offered to teach her if she was interested, to which she readily agreed. Though I made sure to keep the lessons short and simple, as I knew Marceline wasn't the studious type.

Soon enough, though, she learned Ice Strike and Frost Breath. Sadly, she made little progress with any other skills, but we both didn't mind as we hunted vampires. Marceline seemingly became addicted to it, as she enjoyed the praise and love of the people. They didn't care how she looked, as she didn't look much different than my servants with her blue skin. Though her sharp, fang-like teeth raised an eyebrow or two, no one dared to even assume anything in front of me.

Vampire slaying wasn't all we did, though. I showed her around the land I managed, whether it was border patrols or administrative duties. I showed her everything, some things being more interesting to her than others. Though we did have a good time playing music together. I played the saxophone, as it turned out I could push cold air through the instrument manually, which was pretty easy with my magic control. It would probably be easier with wind magic instead of ice magic, but that's something I could only learn from the Wizard City, as I couldn't make heads or tails on how to learn a new element.

Like this, we had a jolly good time before I got news from Emma that a massive horde of vampires numbering in the tens of thousands was approaching. From what I heard, all of the Nosferatu were among them, information only gained after losing dozens, almost hundreds of people.
