As I gathered my bearings in the aftermath of the chaotic battle, I became aware of a group of injured and weary-looking servants surrounding me. Their concerned inquiries drew my attention, prompting me to take stock of my own injuries. To my dismay, I discovered that my previous wounds had worsened due to the vampire king's strike, and I was now missing an arm and a part of my skull.

However, despite my own injuries, my focus shifted to the bloody and injured servants before me. Concerned for their well-being, I inquired about what had transpired. Their responses would provide crucial insight into the events that had unfolded while I was busy dealing with the hierophant.

"Commander there was a sudden attack of vampires from the south it numbered 200 strong, many died and we also lost several of our rank" The words of the servant hit me like a physical blow, leaving me reeling with shock and anger. Clenching my remaining fist, I felt a surge of frustration and determination coursing through me. With a resounding thud, I slammed my fist into the ground, causing a tremor that reverberated through the area, sending the servants around me collapsing to the ground.

*One of you go tell Duke I want him to get me a list of the causualties and to meet me in my office with Emma* I said as I strode towards Bastion, the sight of smoke rising in the distance fueled my urgency. Upon reaching the gates, I found them swarming with guards who quickly opened them, concern evident in their eyes as they inquired about my well-being. Assuring them with a nod, I pressed forward, my determination unwavering.

The whispers of fear and worry among the people weighed heavily on my mind as I passed through the gates. The peace and calm that once enveloped our city had been shattered in an instant by the brutal vampire attack. As I moved forward, I knew that restoring that sense of security would require swift and decisive action.

Creeeeek

The door to the town hall creaked loudly as I was greeted by a swarm of activity be it human or servant as who all stopped to look at my horrible visage as I moved swiftly to come and sit in my office where I sat waiting for Emma and Duke who soon came inside to meet me.

*What happens to you guys?!?!* I inquired urgently as I noticed Duke's missing arm and Emma's multiple puncture wounds. Despite their injuries, they stood before me, performing a solemn salute with their remaining arms and placing their right hands over their hearts.

"Commander, the vampires came upon us with ferocity," Duke began, his voice tinged with solemnity. "We fought valiantly, but they overwhelmed us with sheer numbers. Many were lost, but we managed to hold them off long enough for reinforcements to arrive."

Emma nodded in agreement, her expression grave. "We did what we could, Commander. But they caught us off guard."

*You did your best so don't worry. do you have the causltie list right?* Duke answered my question by handing me a bunch of papers which after reading through it I was left skaking in range.

321 civilians, 88 human guards, and 23 servants were all tragically killed, accompanied by significant destruction of infrastructure. This is devastating, nothing can deny that but I was going to make sure this never happens again so with rhythmic tap of my fingers I manifested my next order in front of my two confidants.

"I'm sending messengers to nearby settlements, offering them migration to our city. I sense the vampires are no longer playing games. Emma, you're in charge. I'm heading to the Nightosphere to train. Remember, you can summon me with my symbol if needed. Also, inform the mayor I'll accept his offer to take charge," I declared. Without waiting for their response, I summoned a magic circle with my ice magic, leading to the Nightosphere. With a swift motion, I tossed the milk I had picked up onto the strange summoning circle, creating a massive hole that led straight into Abdeer's home. Stepping through quickly, I disappeared into the abyss.
