53 Chapter 53: Hierophant vs Brook

Choose to just do the fight scene in one chapter instead of splitting it into two chapters because that would be ass (-_-)

I knew I was weaker than hierophant, but I didn't let this deter me as I stood firm and began activating my cloaks ability [Eternal Winter] then followed it up by activating [Glacial Dread] Which was buffed by 50% thanks to the cloaks ability bring the stat boost I recieved from 40 to 60 as my body emitted a chilling cold that instantly froze over everything around me but in turn the I felt a paralysing cold run through and up my bone but I was to upset to care as also activated Perma frost as it had debuffing effects for those in range.

'Alright lets do this' With resolve coursing through my veins, I focused solely on my opponent, the Hierophant. His scorpion-like tail thrashed and surged towards me, growing to impossible lengths and sizes, intent on striking me down with each stab or sweep.

Yet, with a combination of agility and determination, I deftly weaved and dodged his attacks, narrowly avoiding each deadly strike. Closer and closer I moved, closing the distance between us with every step, my focus unwavering as I prepared to confront the Hierophant head-on.

'[Ice chain: Lv max]' As I closed the distance, I summoned forth 20 chains of ice, each aimed at restraining one of the Hierophant's limbs. With swift precision, I attempted to restrict his movements, creating an opening for my next move. However, the Hierophant proved to be too powerful. With a surge of strength, he effortlessly broke free from the chains, his limbs morphing and expanding beyond their normal size.

Before I could react, he lunged forward, seizing me by the throat with a vice-like grip. A wicked smile spread across his grotesque bat-like face, his grip tightening as he brought me face to face with him as he spoke.

"Why do you fight for these vermin? They live only as long as it takes for me to finish a thought! My naps are longer than their entire history! Why struggle for these cattle, these rats?" The Hierophant's taunts fell upon deaf ears as I remained silent, my determination unyielding.

Instead of words, I responded with a blast of frost breath, emanating from my bony jaw. The freezing cold caught the Hierophant off guard, forcing him to release his grip as he instinctively attempted to shield his face.

Seizing the opportunity, I closed the distance between us, delivering a swift kick to his now goat-like legs. The force of the blow threw the vampire off balance, but before I could follow up, I had to dodge a sweeping attack from his tail, narrowly avoiding its deadly strike.

"Enough talk its time to die!" That's the last thing Hierophant said as his body began to once again change and morph as he grew several meters with his body taking on more beast like features as wings sprouted from his back.

The Hierophant's immense size seemed incongruent with his agility as he moved with unnatural speed. Despite my efforts to defend myself, I found myself unable to react in time as his massive hand closed in on me. With barely a moment to spare, I activated Frozen Fortitude, bracing myself for the impact.

The force of the Hierophant's blow sent me hurtling through the air, crashing into another nearby house. As I struggled to regain my bearings, I watched as the effects of Frozen Fortitude took hold, encasing the Hierophant's hand in a layer of ice. However, to my dismay, he seemed unfazed by the frostbite, casually severing the frozen appendage and allowing another to rapidly grow in its place.

With a sinking feeling in my chest, I realized that the Hierophant's relentless pursuit showed no signs of abating, and I prepared myself for the continuation of our deadly duel.

Amidst the wreckage of the ruined house, our battle raged on. I dodged and weaved through the Hierophant's relentless strikes, utilizing all my abilities to restrain him and create openings for counterattacks. However, the Hierophant proved to be a formidable opponent, swiftly severing any frozen limbs before they could take effect.

As the battle escalated, we took to the air, the ground beneath us forgotten. With a swift maneuver, I froze the water molecules under my feet, creating a temporary platform. The Hierophant, undeterred, effortlessly took flight, his wings propelling him through the air with ease. Despite his agility, my frozen attacks took their toll, causing self-inflicted damage to the Hierophant's limbs as he severed them in desperation.

Yet, the battle was not without its cost. I suffered grievous injuries, missing several ribs and part of my bottom jaw, wounds I hoped would heal in time. With no time to dwell on my injuries, I pressed on, using ice platforms to evade the Hierophant's attacks and create opportunities for counteroffensives.

In a moment of opportunity, I leaped high above the Hierophant, weaving through his rapidly growing limbs. With precision and determination, I descended upon him, summoning dozens of chains of ice to bind his wings. As he plummeted to the ground, I rode his body down, exhaling frost breath upon him, rendering him helpless in his descent.

*BOOM*

A deafening crash echoed as we slammed into yet another house, reducing it to rubble upon impact. Standing atop the Hierophant's broken and frozen body, I watched as he struggled futilely against his icy restraints, his screams echoing in the chaos around us.

Driven by a mix of determination and vengeance, I approached the Hierophant, intent on delivering the final blow. Freezing the air around me, I materialized a bastard sword, its icy blade gleaming with lethal intent. With grim resolve, I aimed for the Hierophant's heart, ready to end the battle once and for all.

Stunned and frustrated, I struggled to rise from the ground, only to find the Hierophant gone, replaced by the imposing figure of the king of vampires. He held the ragged, frost-bitten body of the Hierophant, who appeared to have passed out from the ordeal.

With a simple nod, the king acknowledged me before turning away, his silent departure leaving me to ponder the events that had unfolded. As he disappeared into the darkness, I couldn't shake the feeling that this encounter was far from over. With a heavy heart, I braced myself for whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that the battle against the Vampires is far from over.

Has me wondering if I should count this as the two chapter for the day since this was previously going to be the 2 chapters for the day but I feel that would be a dick move.
