1 "Be my Luna"

CHAPTER ONE

She stared at the man before her as if he had two horns on his delicate face and wondered the type of audacity he possessed to even pass the borders of Star Crescent Pack.

She knew this might be her only opportunity to flee, her only chance of escaping this gruesome and terrible fate inflicted on her but the thought alone made her shudder. How would she poison the royal ones whose influence over a pack could cause a storm among other packs and territories?

This was an impossible mission, once she was caught; not only would her body be hanged under the hot scorching sun as a forbidden species she was in the pack, but she would be pieced to shreds.

She can't dare this pack, they were already too dangerous.

She pushed the poisonous bottle back to him and shook her head.

"I'm sorry Ray, I can't do this." Her voice was in a whisper and she couldn't miss the flicker of worry and disappointment that clouded his face.

He wanted to save her, she knew that so well. She knew how this man loved her to infinity and would do all it took to make her break free from the chains of slavery in this pack but it was too dangerous. He wasn't doing it the right way and she was too scared to dare to try such.

"Kaylan! This is your only chance!" He seethed, totally not expecting her countenance. How could she look so scared at just an act that might save her for a lifetime?

"No Ray, they will kill me!" She whimpered.

"You're already dead!" He fired back at her.

"You shouldn't be here, you will get killed at first sight."

"And you think I don't know that? I've lived years thinking of how they treated you since the attack that happened. I missed you Kaylan, I do and I can't stand this, so do what needs to be done and get the hell out. This is more than being their slaves! This is our mission Kaylan and you shouldn't forget that!" Ray spat every word to sound like an alarm to her ears just in case she forgot.

Being captured wasn't her plan, being treated like an outcast was out of the box but what her lover was suggesting was the worst and the best. She could do this and get to the treasure store, after all, she was their maid and had all access to their private rooms and chambers. They would die and she would be free, taking all the treasure that could last her generation for a lifetime.

"Think about this Kay and come back to me, I'm so tired of missing you." He told her and clenched his jaw hard that he couldn't hug her and as if sensing a strange scent, he walked away briskly and Kaylan was left with the bottle. She followed the lonely path that led to the large glassy Mansion and her tongue hung on her throat when she saw him.

He looked like a sinful art craft. His hair was tousled and tendrils fell to his eyes, he suffered some minor scratches on his muscled arm and his hands looked as if he had dipped them in a bucket of blood. On one hand, he held this sword tightly and his other free hand was dripping blood.

He won the war.

That wasn't just a statement but a fact known across the borders of the Lycan territory but his countenance was as if he lost something. His eyes emitted a crimson glow instead of the usual bright and forest green colour and something tells her that the reason he was standing there without moving an inch yet was because of her.

That thought alone made her want to puke her fear out. How long did she spend with Ray outside the pack mansion?

She released a shaky breath and wiped her sweaty fingers on the fabric of her clothes until she came to where the others were standing.

"She's here, Alpha. I bet she deliberately left her duty for something irrelevant!" The chef maid spat out and Kaylan gulped. Cypher would never wait outside for her no matter how he needed her service. He was always indoors, making himself rare and important, hiding his beauty inside closed doors but she gets to see him every day. Every freaking day and he was a monster in disguise.

To his Pack, he was the saviour everyone needed. He was sacred and no matter how his younger brother tried to make him bend to his harsh lashing and demands, Cypher exudes this natural style of elegance and class. He wouldn't dare interfere and laughed it off.

But the man standing in front of her was looking different, broken and confused.

"Should we punish her Alpha? I'll send another maid to–"

With just a glare from Cypher, she held her breath and bowed immediately, and everyone became silent which made Kaylan aware of how tough the situation was and might pass out from his presence if he kept up with this aura of his.

"Kaylan."

Her name rolled out of his lips like a forbidden word and she shivered, swallowing so hard and begging her wolf not to make her whimper too much.

"Yes, Al…Alpha." She replied.

"My Office, Now!" He ordered immediately and walked away from the scene he had caused. The tone was angry and demanding and the onlookers were waiting excitedly for a scene as anything that has to do with the only wolf in the Pack was always an exhilarating show for them to watch. Was he going to tie her to the pole, flog her, punish her to death? But they were left hanging disappointedly.

How could he just return from a deadly war with the Vampire's Clan outside the borders of their Pack only to stand and wait for a maid without lashing out?

But they knew within themselves that they would never understand their Alpha, they could manage his younger brother but he was too scary, too different, and unique.

Kaylan's heart could be used to host a ceremony as it thundered hard against her ribcage, she walked on the cold marble tiles and passed through the terrace that leads to his office.

She breathed in so hard and exhaled before knocking softly on the door and the silence that filled the air made her aware that he wasn't going to answer her anytime soon.

She opened the door smoothly and entered the air-conditioned neat office she had cleaned that morning.

He wasn't sitting this time around, he was standing, hands folded across his arms and he looked clean. His white shirt was all unbuttoned; it looked as if he just threw it on, hiding the lean abs and chest that threatened to display.

His hands were clean too and the office smelt so good, filled with his cologne.

The moment he turned to her, her breath hitched.

His stare was so dark, so searching, so gushing as if she had something he was looking for but just wanted to rip her body apart to take it out.

He didn't waver, it's as if he wanted her to know that he was staring before clearing his throat smoothly.

"You will be my Luna, Kaylan." He said and everything stopped existing before Kaylan, aside from his words echoing over and over again.
