Chapter 52: 6-star Beast Tamer, Madman Fei

'Yawn!'

I stretched myself, letting out a large yawn, widening my mouth enough to swallow our room. So far, so good, this was the best sleep I'd had.

Even the so called unconsciousness was actually not blissful. I'd been training in the Way of Disguise under the tutelage of my Old Ancestor. Firstly, I was made to learn how to disguise my aura, since my bloodline Gift granted me a pure and flexible true essence. I learnt how to perfectly imitate someone else's. If I willed it, I could even make people see me as a Divine realm expert!

Secondly, I learnt shape-shifting. This one was very much tortuous! Using his true essence as a guide, I had to go through series of pains as he reworked on my bones to strengthen it, and also to make them much flexible than a normal human's. With this type of body, I could even be a perfect fit for gymnastics, back in my homeworld. My joy knew no boundary! With my ability, I could perfectly elongate my physique to shape-shift to even someone the shape of Ruby!

On the third day, I got to learn the last piece art of physical features disguise — facial and voice adaptation.

Yes, all those were learnt under just three days. However, what one must understand is that, it normally would have been impossible under just any tutelage. My tutor, on the other hand, was a Divine realm expert! Someone who had stood at the pinnacle of the world and seen all the vicissitudes of life! Not even the physician checking me could pass through the disguise Old Ancestor had temporarily placed on my bodily aura and changes, thus, the reason he'd been frustrated all through.

Old Ancestor even told me he'd be teaching me something new when I clocked seventeen! I just couldn't wait until then. Because he was just a fragment of consciousness, Old Ancestor told me that after the impartation of his Way of Disguise, he'd expended lots of willpower to quicken the process, so he'd had to go on a long hibernation to be at his peak in his consciousness (will) form.

For a moment, I just remained transfixed on my back, face to the ceiling, eyes closed, doing nothing. A smile was plastered across my face. Since today was a free day for me, I decided to visit the Beast Guild to learn more.

My eyes opened to see Jessica sleeping like she hadn't slept since she was born. Xueyi, on the other hand, was seated crossed legs, hands well-balanced, in meditation. This lass was really hardworking.

I went to refresh myself, before I headed straight for the cafeteria, via air. Roy was always happy, as usual.

The previous night when I'd arrived back into the dormitory, I'd sent my consciousness into my recluse ring and informed my tamed beasts about what had happened in the restaurant, and how the thieves had been bullied.

Black Frost was basically not interested in "child's play" so he went away to sleep. Little Wolfy, the copper-fur wolf, was more than excited to listen. Of course, he wasn't jealous of never been given the opportunity to come out of the ring. Reason was because I'd already explained that, for now, I had to keep a low profile, to avoid too many eyes on me. Right now, these animals were my trump cards.

I moved these thoughts to the back of my head, on arriving at the cafeteria. Nothing worth talking about happened there, except that I had a good meal. As usual, I snuck the extra I'd collected, into my recluse ring for my tamed beasts. Savage beasts could spend three days without eating, and not even feel it. Emphasis need not be stressed on this, as to point out that my beasts weren't just ordinary savage beasts, but cultivating beasts. The spiritual energy was more than enough nourishment at times.

As my feet landed on the ground of the Beast Guild vicinity, I quickly threw my uniform around my arms and placed my badge on my chest. As I walked approached the entrance, I noticed lots of people walking with long strides, others even running in. I could not help but stop somebody for interrogation.

"It's Madman Fei! He's here to give a lecture! Who wants to miss that?!" Without even waiting for a second more, the middle-aged man dashed into the guild.

"Whoever bears 'madman' as a title?" I asked myself in a daze.

Still...

Curiosity got the better of me. I ran along and easily blended with the crowd heading to the sixth floor. I'd never been to this floor before, because it was a place where all the 6-star beast tamers' activities were carried out.

Taking note of the emblems on the chests of the beast tamers, I couldn't help but gasp. They were all teachers! Not even a single person was a student. And they all had three stars pinned on their chests, lowest.

Out of embarrassment, I quickly unpinned my 1-star badge and stowed it into my storage ring. Then, I warped my facial feature to match that of a mid-twenty lady. Even my hair was looking jet-black through a true essence disguise method I'd learnt. I just have to make everyone 'see' my hair to be black, when it was plainly brown with golden highlights. It was done stealthily, so no one noticed a thing. And besides, they were all agitated at the moment; who'd have the time to observe a girl changing her height and muscles?

The sixth floor was very large, so the crowd did not fear for discomfort of having so many people. They weren't even that much anyway. A headcount told me we summed thirty-six.

Just then, a gush of fresh air enveloped the air as a man with a Cheshire cat's grin stepped in. Naaaah! Cross that out! This is what really happened:

Just then, as everyone waited eagerly for the speaker to arrive, something unexpected happened.

The floor on the podium broke, as stones flew hither and thither towards the crowd, and a silhouette jumped in, through the open hole. His physique was definitely huge. He had two recluse rings and two storage rings on his hand, causing a total of four rings! Of course, the Cheshire cat's grin stays. His hair was similar to Ruby's, only that it was more thick on the red, and... haggardly. He quickly cast his eyes with that weird grin, before dusting the little pieces of rocks on his shoulders.

'How else do you define "coming in, in a grand way"? This was just the epitome!'

"Sorry I was late! The elevators are just too slow." His words were totally devoid of bashfulness, which was surprising. He quickly peeked at the floor he'd just jumped from; the fifth floor. He smiled at someone below, apologetically. After a second thought, he waved his right arm, sending a frenzied true essence aura to cover the whole room. Immediately after doing this, it was as if everybody outside carrying their normal everyday activities were silenced. The room became extraordinarily silent.

Someone next to me whispered to me on seeing my expression.

"That's Spacial Lock. It's normally a feat carried out through orthodox formations. However, using true essence proves that he's already attained the Spirit realm cultivation.

I nodded with an "oh", then quickly added, "thank you."

My attention went back to the huge man. He looked extremely familiar, but I just couldn't place where I'd seen him before. I shrugged it off, after all this was an academy, he probably was just one of the top-notch teachers.

He had six stars shining on his chest and exuding a very impressive aura. He was actually a 6-star beast tamer!

In the Acorn Valley, it was already a wonderful feat, just to be able to become a beast tamer in first place. To go all the way to 6-star was just unimaginable. The higher the rank, the higher the difficulty the test would be.

Madman Fei cracked his voice as if wanting to speak. Everyone quickly went silent and pricked their ears up in attention, so as not to miss a single word out.

"Beast taming is the art which involves sequentially caring for a beast, nurturing it, earning its trust, then become its master through the voluntary sending out of blood essence for the beast-to-master contract. It might take a few days, weeks, months, and even years. Who agrees with this?" The heavy voice of Madman Fei travelled around the hall.

Everyone nodded their heads. Myself inclusive.

"Nonsense!" he exclaimed, causing everyone to exchange confused looks. "That's why you all die with three to four beasts to your names!"

He flicked his wrist, and one of his recluse ring glowed, as an animal materialised before us. It was the popular beast used by most police officers. The Bloody Fangs Panther!

"Look at this animal. Tell me, how long would it take you to tame it from the forest? Comments from the audience, please."

Everyone observed its aura and age range, before quickly making calculations. Someone finally raised an arm up.

"If I have the intestines of an Evergreen Roadrunner, it should take me within a week to establish a little amount of trust. Then, I could lure it to follow me back home using the Longevity Bone of a dragon-type beast. From there, I could try observing its preferences, its behaviour, and try to establish communication with the human language and bodily signs. This aura gives off the killing intent of a hundred year old Bloody Fangs Panther, thus it would pose some harm if I tried to rush its taming process. Within a year or two, it should willingly sign the contract!"

I nodded my head, totally impressed. These people really lived up to their names as teachers. Just their knowledge in calculation was already very much above average.

Every single person seemed to have been in total agreement with this person who'd just spoken. Some chirped in a few words here and there, but everything was still within what the first replier had said.

Just when everyone turned silent to hear Madman Fei's appraisal, an heavy shrill of laughter burst out from his throat.

"Hehehe-haha-huhuhu-hehe-he!"

Everyone listened with shock. I even had to twitch my ears before I could balance the tickling shockwave of the laughter. Then, the word came out from his mouth.

"Bunch of fools!"
