Burning Strings: A warlock of the Magus world Fanfic

A new soul reincarnates but did he reincarnate or merely an illusion of his mind. If he did then why did he? Will he survive in this unforgiving world. Will he be destined to damnation like the ones that came before him or can he cut the strings and be free of the puppeteer? A new protagonist, a new path, a new adventure. Why does this world inspire so many different worlds? What happened to the original Fang Ming? Who could use a rank 9 magus as entertainment or more specifically what? What is the truth of this world? Is this a dream or a nightmare? Is it heaven or maybe it is hell. ........................................Warlock of Magus World Fanfic............................... 7000 words a week. this will be a bit trippy. it will have many Sci-fi and Fantasy concepts it will also dance more towards cosmic horror. Chapter 22 Part 2

Leylin followed the witch's instructions knowing that it was the correct method by comparing it with WMW.pdf and placed both of his hands on the crystal ball. Icy cold! Vibrations! A strange tactile feeling was transmitted from the tip of his fingers. Leylin's head hurt as if there was a glass rod stirring inside. Along with the start of his headache, the crystal ball in front of Leylin also emitted a faint glow. As the pain increased, the crystal ball in Leylin's hands also grew brighter.

Leylin pulled his hand back once the pain became unbearable. The witch looked at Leylin in shock. She composed herself and spoke, "I didn't expect you actually to have an aptitude for magic. Even in the entire continent of billions, less than 100 would have any aptitude, but you actually have such great aptitude." Lorna spoke with a complex look in her eyes.

"We have categorised the aptitude of the acolytes into five grades, with the first grade as the worst and the fifth grade as the best. You are in the fourth grade. Moreover, yours is among the higher level of 4th grade! I am merely a 2nd-grade myself. Even among magus, you would be a gem. To imagine I would see a 4th-grade in a backward place like this." Lorna continued

Leylin listened to Lorna's words with a mixture of shock and excitement. He was pretty sure he had magical potential, but to actually have it confirmed was a completely different feeling.

"Thank you, mistress Lorna," Leylin said.

"Please, call me Lorna," Lorna replied with a smile.

"Alright! Now to test for elemental affinity! Carefully look into the water!" Lorna said

This water basin was not smooth. It seemed to be made of stone, and there was a kind of liquid metal flowing inside that resembled mercury.

[...An unknown interference has caused the host to enter a state

of hypnosis!..... Dispel interference or Allow? Yes…..No]

Leylin promptly thought, 'NO' He knew it would happen from WMW.pdf.

"Now, tell me, what do you see?" Lorna asked

Leylin's eyes were a little glazed over. "Red and orange cover everything and specks of green."

He left out the bright pink spots. According to WMW.pdf, it should be the dreamscape. He hadn't yet come into contact with the dreamscape, so why did he have it? Something he must consider for later.

"Your test is already over! In the aspect of elemental affinities, you have the highest affinity with the Fire element, the orange must be a mutation of the fire element, and you also have a smidgen of affinity with the Plant element!"

"Your aptitude is great. The road to becoming a true magus is long and difficult." Lorna warned.

Leylin nodded. He knew that becoming a magus would not be easy, but he was willing to do whatever it took to achieve his goal.

"I understand, Lorna. I am ready to do whatever it takes," Leylin said determinedly.

Leylin had a lot to think about on his way back.

"She seemed decent for a magus?"Leylin questioned aloud as they rode back to Chrysalis.

"She seemed like the decent sort young master," Locke commented.

By the end of the discussion, He felt that the haughty look in Lorna's eyes was replaced with one of acknowledgement. Leylin thought she seemed like the decent sort it may be worthwhile to be business partners, but he couldn't be complacent. She was a magus; no matter what, he couldn't put his guard down.
