Burning Passion : Breaking All Rules

When love blossoms unexpectedly between a teacher and student, it is utterly passionate but also dangerous. Spying eyes linger even inside the most deserted hallways, waiting hungrily for a drop of fiery gossip. Gossip which can spell ruin for James’s famed career and for Lia’s chances at her dream university. Heartbreak follows more heartbreak when the two are separated for years through a spider web of misunderstandings and lies, only to be reunited again when fatefully James is Lia’s boss at work. The burning passion which was hidden away for years sparked again, and this time neither of them wanted to hold it in.

Chapter 56 - Trust

"I take thee," says Ashton as she looks into his sparkling blue eyes.

"I take thee, Ashton," she whispers and leans forward to kiss him. As they kiss, they hear a screaming woman running towards them through the aisle.

"Mae?" Ashton asks, looking shocked. He turns to look at the woman he kissed to find Liya standing there. Mae looks at both of them and breaks down in the middle of the whole crowd. "I love you dearly and this is what you do to me? I hate you, Ashton!"

"Mae! You know how much I love you! Please understand, I didn't mean to marry her."

"You didn't, Ashton?" asks Liya with her eyes welling up with tears.

"No, I mean-I love you, Liya. But I can't marry you. I'm sorry," says Ashton and walks to a crying Mae. "I fell for you the moment you fell down–I was there to catch you, but nobody is there to catch me now. Please forgive me."

Ashton runs out of the wedding place and jumps into the ocean nearby, allowing the waters to drown him.
