Chapter 1: The unfortunate meeting

Wind breezes through the window. Karl wakes up with the sound of alarm. Karl glances the side of his empty bed. Then, grabs the mouse and boots up his computer. There, he plays a soft toned music and goes toward the washroom to take a shower.

As the music comes to an end the doorbell rings. Karl walks out naked. He slightly opens the door. On the door it's a boy with nerdy glasses.

"Jake, what do you want?" Karl asks with a smirk.

"Y-You slept with Mora." The boy answers while stuttering.

"Who?" Karl asks with a poker face.

"MY GIRLFRIEND, MORA" Jake almost cries. Tears begins swell up on Jake's face. Noticing that, Karl grabs Jake's collar and pushes him back. Exposing him in the process.

A girl walking down the corridor witnesses the scene coincidently. But, instead of interfering to save Jake she gets mesmerized in Karl's body. Looking at Karl's lean build with six packs and straight hair.

Her eyes wanders all over Karl's body. The smell of shampoo disturbs her senses. Not to mention Karl's manhood makes her stomach ache with butterflies.

Karl leans in to get closer to Jake. "Listen here, your girl means nothing to me. I only slept with her to make you feel miserable." Karl says that in one breath.

Seeing Karl towering over him, Jake's heart drops. The height difference between them is very vast. "W-Why me?" Jake asks with snot coming out his nose.

"Cause, I felt so" Karl says that with his widest smile ever, making it very creepy.

"HEL-" Just as Jake is about to scream Karl puts his hand on Jake's mouth. Karl looks around to see if anybody is there. He notices a girl standing there with a red face.

Karl quickly throws Jake like a sack of grain into his room then dashes himself. "Sheesh, you got me into trouble just now." Karl sneers as he closes the door behind.

Jake gets on his feet. "Well, how about this midget? You will tell that girl that this all is just a misunderstanding and I won't leak your chick's video on the campus."

Jake body starts to visibly shake. He grabs a pillow as a shield.

"Seriously, dude?" Karl asks with a grin.

Karl throws a straight punch at jake hitting him in the jaw.

Jake goes back few steps. Jake cheek swells up in blue color. Jack gritted his teeth as hard as he could and tries to throw a clumsy punch.

Karl slaps Jake away with ease. "Come on! That's your only girl. Try a bit harder." He says with a vicious smile.

Jake dashes and grabs the monitor on the table. Then throws that towards Karl which stops the music.

That monitor hits Karl's shoulder. Veins appears on Karl's forehead. He says with anger "You are dead now."

Karl approaches Jake. Seeing that Jake tries to grab the CPU to throw at Karl in panic. But the cable of the CPU is too short. Jake tries to pull again and fails ripping the cable off. Karl kicks Jake in the gut.

Jake falls to ground. Karl continues to stomp Jake for a whole minute. "DO. NOT. TOUCH. MY. THINGS. EVER. AGAIN."

The room floor turns quite bloody. Broken teeths are lying beside Jake. Karl wipes his forehead and says "You alive?"

Karl waits for a second for a respond which does not come. Karl's face turns grave. He lightly lifts Jake head which is barely recognizable. All front teeths are missing, broken ribs, broken spine and fractured hand.

Karl smiles but it quickly changes to frown. He turns to grab his phone. Just as he turns Jake stands with all of his might throwing the ripped cable towards Karl.

Wire hits Karl's back zapping him on the spot. Karl screams on top of his lungs. "JAKEEEEEEEEEEEE" Karl takes two steps towards Jake to reach him. 

Jake smiles a bloody face. But Karl's vision blacks out. Jake kills Karl.

"Leonard Avaritia." 

"Here!" Leonard answers.

"Here are your mission details" says a lady with a pretty face. Leonard grabs the papers and walks towards the door as me read through the paper. Leonard stashes the paper into his backpack.

Then, he taps on his watch and decides to call an air cab. A message pops up which says "NOT ENOUGH PHOTONS."

Seeing that Leonard makes a grim face but walks toward a specific direction. After 3 hours of walking, Leonard is in a tropical forest. But it is purple instead of green.

Leonard does not show any kind of reaction as if this is normal for him. After looking around for few seconds, he notices a killing intent and jumps on the nearby tree.

Leonard stops breathing. Few second passes and the ground start to shake. Leonard remains calm. Shaking starts to intensify. Leonard sees a large shadow in a distance looking in his direction. "SHIT! When did he appear?" Leonard curses.

On the distance is a huge purple color gorilla is looking directly at Leonard. It stands around 12 feet and as large as a school bus. A sharp sword appears in Leonard's right hand.

Two stares at each other for solid 10 seconds. After that the gorilla's face turns towards another direction. "Am I that small threat?" Leonard sighs of relief and continues his journey.

After unknown hours, Leonard comes across an abnormally large purple tree. "Found it! At last, the fruit of Velora will be mine" Leonard exclaims in joy. Then he climbs the large tree and cuts a hole in the trunk.

Inside the trunk there is a hollow place with a dry branch which has a dark purple fruit in it. Leonard grabs the fruit and pulls it with all of his strength. After some struggle, The fruit comes out successfully.

Suddenly, the whole tree starts to crumble and Leonard quickly jumps into the forest. Leonard calls his sword out and stabs the tree making a huge vertical cut in the tree. Due to this stunt, speed of Leonard's fall is decreased significantly and Leonard makes a perfect landing.

"Whew! Thank the horizon that this tree was small or else the landing wouldn't be so smooth." Leonard starts to go back towards the city.

Just as he takes first step a rock comes flying towards Leonard grazing his cheek. Leonard quickly takes a battle stance. There he sees a monkey with purple fur. Sitting on top of a nearby tree. Leonard starts to suck in mana. The monkey throws another rock at Leonard.

Leonard performs a slash cutting the rock in two accurate pieces. Monkey throws another one. Leonard cuts that too. Monkey throws a little big one. Leonard cuts it but a crack appears on Leonard's sword.

Seeing that monkey laughs loudly. Leonard's blood starts to boil. He picks up one of the already cut rock and throws at the monkey.

The rock hits the monkey in the chest unbalancing the monkey. The monkey screeches in anger. At the very next second numerous red eyes appear on that tree. "Fuck! It's an entire troop" Leonard curses.

Numerous monkeys jump from tree to tree from various directions trying circle Leonard in. Leonard keeps a calm mind and counts the monkeys. "1,2,3,4....13. Damn, looks like this would be my last mission."

Leonard's legs tense up as he pumps all of his mana into the legs and he dashes ahead. He pierces the head of a monkey with his sword and punches the other one in the guts.

A monkey from sideline jumps up on the Leonard. Leonard puts his hand instinctively to save his head from damage. Monkey bits off a huge chunk off Leonard's forearm exposing his radius bone.

A burning sensation is felt by Leonard on his forearm but it quickly disperses as adrenaline kicks in. Leonard without a second thought smashes his arm into the ground, killing the monkey.

Sound of bones cracking was heard by everyone. Leonard does not stop and jumps towards the nearest monkey. This startles the monkeys and Leonard slashes one's head off. Leonard pumps a dangerous amount of mana into his arms.

The muscles in his arm gets bigger and swelled up. Blood explodes from Leonard's injured arm. Seeing the abnormally large arms and lack of fear from their prey the monkeys get an anxious feeling.

Without wasting any time Leonard's swings his healthy arm like slingshot and throws his sword into a tree. The sword pierces the tree with ease and the tree falls making a loud noise all over the forest creating a distraction.

A large shadow looks in the direction of the Leonard. Oblivious to this, Leonard grabs the two distracted monkeys by their head and crushes them. Blood sprinkles all over Leonard.

"7 left. My mana reserve is empty. I am bleeding heavily. Even if I survived here, I don't think I can reach the city. I am dead." Leonard smiles as he looks into the ground.

All seven of the monkeys jumps at Leonard. "So, lets die. HAPPILY!" Leonard also jumps towards the monkeys. The sharp teeth of monkeys go deep into Leonard's back. Leonard punches a monkey in the face.

A monkey climbs Leonard's arm and aims at his neck. But instead of monkey biting Leonard, Leonard bites the monkey's face clean off.

Leonard starts to throw punches randomly hitting every moving thing in the area. He grabs two monkeys head and slams them to dead. "I AM HAPPY. I AM HAPPY. YES, I FUCKING AM."

Leonard keeps on hitting them even if they are dead. The remaining three falls back some distance and appear rather afraid.

After few seconds, Leonard finally calms down. Leonard breathes in mana and recalls his sword. He goes near a corpse of a dead monkey and leans in.

Suddenly a fierce killing intent comes and every strand of hair stands up on Leonard's body. The tall gorilla from earlier growls from a tree not too far away from Leonard. Leonard's feet turn cold.

Unconsciously, they proceeds to walk on their own. Gorilla roars in response and runs towards Leonard in a frenzy state. Three remaining monkeys does not move from their place in fear and get trampled by the gorilla.

Not giving any attention to his fallen underlings. Leonard again pumps all of his mana into his legs and runs with all of his might. The gorilla comes closer and closer.

Leonard calls his sword out and cuts any tree he passes by to obstruct the mad ape. "Shit! my mana reserves are almost empty."

Leonard's whole body is covered with dried blood with a bleeding arm, half eaten back and black exhausted legs from mana overuse. Still Leonard has one last method which he can use to save his life.

Which is to sacrifice his life force, by sacrificing his life force. A year or so would gone from Leonard's life. Even after knowning this, Leonard sacrifices his life force and the chase continues for 2 hours.

Every muscle from Leonard body is gone and he resembles a skeleton more than a human. But he is still running from the gorilla and after all this he sees the end of the forest. A cliff.

Leonard pushes his body once more and jumps off the cliff and lands into sand. Feeling the hot sand on his body relieves Leonard. The gorilla stands on the cliff and looks down. He sees Leonard but walks away immediately.

This looks odd to Leonard. "3 horned apes are not easy to get away from, is the horizon smiling on me?"

Leonard tries to stand but couldn't. "It's a damn quicksand!" He says with a dreadful voice.

Leonard tires again. But fails. Again. Again. Again. Again. No matter how many times he tries Leonard fails.

"Sorry, Lock and Layla. But looks like the horizon wants me dead. Sorry, I couldn't be a great brother to you. I will be waiting for you in the solstice. May the Horizon Bless you!" With this Leonard slowly swept into the earth with his hands towards the sun.

Karl opens up his eyes in a hospital. Karl looks around in a panic and tries to get up.

That's when the door opens "Looks like you are awakened Mr. Leonard Avaritia." the doctor states as he reads a file.

"Leonard? Who's that?"
