1 Staple of Isekai Clichés has Arrived!

And so I face the final curtain

That's the song that came up in my head as I fall deeper into seemingly bottomless abyss. You might be asking how and why I ended up this way, let's rewind time a bit.

-Phone ringing-

"Thank you for calling AT&T my name is John from DirecTV tech support how may I help you today?"

"Oh yes! Thank God I finally got thru to someone! Hey your name is John right? My name is Robert but you can just call me Bob."

"Sure Bob! You sound pretty agitated as you got thru the phone is there something wrong? If so I'll assist you to the best of my abilities."

"Well you are correct that I'm agitated. So here's the problem as I was checking the bill for this month I saw that my bill has increased again and there seems to be new channels that I'm not aware of."

"Hmmm okay let me just check the history of your account just gimme a sec."

"Sure thing."

"Okay I found out why your bill has gotten higher it seems Mike has added new channel package and it was Adult all access monthly and yes as I was checking here in our files he is recorded as an authorized user so he can add and or remove channels as necessary."

"What!? That Fu**er added those channels without giving me a heads up!? D@mn! must be the reason he's always sick and doesn't want to hangout the last few days"

"Well Bob, from the sounds of it he's having a great time by himself and must have been too shy to notify you"

"Seems like you're right though"

"So Bob since you are the owner of the account you can remove the said package to lower your bill"

"Nah leave it as it is."

"Seems like you and Mike has some pretty solid friendship huh?"

"Yeah he's my flat mate, his girl left him for another dude few months back seems this is the way he's coping up with it"

"Well I do hope that he recover soon enough. So Bob is there anything else?"

"Nah everything's good thanks"

"That's great Bob! So just to recap..."

After the 10 minutes call it's my time for break.

I cupped my hands as I feel the coldness of our office and approach a friend of mine.

"Yow my nigga Daquan let's take a break downstairs it's freezing my b@lls here."

Daquan nods and muted the call from his hard phone.

"Sure just gimme a minute and I'll finish this call"

Daquan smiled at me and hand the pack of cigarette from his pocket and unmute the call.

"Uh huh Yes Ma'am if you have other questions aside from making a call, if you have connection to the internet you could also check our website to check the troubleshooting steps that we have there which is the simplified steps that we have taken to fix the problem 771. Again my name is Daquan and thank you for choosing AT&T"

He stood up and walked towards another cubicle who has a female agent taking a call.

"Hey Bea where's my lighter? John and I are taking our breaks now."

Bea takes a zippo lighter from the back pocket of her pants.

"Hey could you buy me a coffee before you go back? My purse is not here with me I'll pay you later during lunch." Bea asked Daquan a favor as she hands over the lighter to him.

As Daquan walk towards me, he toss the lighter lightly.

"Here! Catch! So how was your calls so far tonight?"

I catch it with my left hand and smiled at him.

"So far so good. The last call was about porn channels but it was a billing dispute."

"Huh? So early in the night and you're already getting this kind of calls? So was it an angry parent not knowing their son or daughter ordered it by mistake?"

"Nah bro, its 20-ish something dude that called and asking why his bill was high."

"Huh? That's not what I expected it to be. So it wasn't an irate customer huh? And talking to someone most likely same age as you regarding those kind of channels is kinda embarrassing for me."

"Well yeah he was kinda irate at first but I explained it to him that it was an authorized user who added the package 3 months ago. And dude get this, the authorized user whose name is Mike got dumped by his girlfriend 3 months ago. Most likely Mike added the package so he could release some pent up stress but from the looks of it he got way into this! Ahahahah."

"Well the dude is an authorized user so yeah he could do that, so did the account owner removed the package to lower back his bill? I mean his not aware that his paying more than what he knows and doesn't even have the chance to enjoy it. I'd be pretty irate to if it happened to me."

"Nah he didn't removed the package, seems like they got some pretty deep friendship as he just said to leave the account as it is. Looks to me that he's fine with it though I mean I explicitly explained it to him regarding the bill. They're flat mates and he's asking Mike to go out a few times and would always refuse to go out with him"

We walked towards the elevator to get to the ground floor as we wait inside we're having small talk.

"Hey John where going to eat at Mang Inasar tomorrow morning it's to celebrate our teams dashingly awesome performance last month." Daquan smile as he boast.

I smiled at him, "Sure as long as it's free food then it's okay with me fam."

We then walk out of the elevator and head outside.

As we go to the sidewalk smoke cigarette and chill.

We we're still talking about the calls that we had during the night then suddenly I heard screeching

tire sounds from the the next street. As I look behind Daquan to check what's happening I saw a speeding truck towards us. I pushed Daquan to the inner sidewalk since he was oblivious of what was happening behind him. As I pushed him I look towards to horrified face of the truck driver. I see that his mouth is moving and his hands are also motioning me to move aside but I knew to myself that the speed of the truck is too fast for me to evade and not to mention the front width of truck.

As I thought to myself, "This is how I'm going to die, because of my stupidity and unhealthy chubby body But I do remember some feminist saying on CNN that chubby is the new sexy. Huh I guess it doesn't apply to men. Hey! Does this mean that truck-sama from those isekai novels will be taking my poor little life? Huh, did not see that coming."

Then by some miracle the truck swerves to my right barely miss me by couple of meters and hit a electrical pole near the sidewalk.
