Chapter 58

Julius had finished conquering the last three free cities within three months, mostly because the last two cities surrendered. The Magisters and Slavers that fled the city to Westeros found themselves surrounded while attempting to cross the Narrow Sea.

The Imperial Navy had intercepted the ships, and all the slavers and the Magisters of the cities were taken back to Essos.

In Westeros, the situation in King's landing was escalating as Robert Baratheon had gone hunting but returned injured and on his deathbed. In his last moments before he died, he made Lord Eddard Lord protector of the Realm until his son Joffrey comes of age.

But after the King died, the queen instead had Joffrey take the Throne and become King of the seven Kingdoms. Cersei then summoned Lord Eddard and everybody to the Throne room. She had played her cards well, and now she would use this moment to put her son on the Throne, and nobody would stop her.

She planned to brand Lord Eddard as a traitor and have him taken into custody so that he won't return to the North and come back with an army. But already the North was shaken, since word of Ser Jamie attacking Lord Eddard in the streets of Kingslanding had already reached the ears of all the Kingdoms in Westeros.

If it wasn't for Lord Eddards Wife, his son would already be marching on Kingslanding with an army of Northmen.

As Lord Eddard approached the Throne room, he first talked with the Commander of the Gold cloaks to make sure that he had them on his side. After the commander had said that he had their support, Lord Eddard proceeded into the Throne room.

"All Hail his Grace, Joffrey of houses Baratheon and Lannister, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm" The Announcer had announced all the Titles of the New King of the Seven Kingdoms.

As Lord Eddard walked up to the Throne, there was complete silence besides the announcer and the ringing of a Bell.

Once Lord Eddard was in front of Joffrey, he started stating his commands to the Council, "I Command the council to make all Necessary arrangements for my coronation. I wish to be crowned in the fortnight, and Today I shall accept Oaths of Fealty from my Loyal Councilors" Said Joffrey

Once again, there was a long silence as lord Eddard and the Queen stared at each other, one in disgust and the other like they had already won.

Lord Eddard then presented the letter from Robert to Sir Barristan since he was an Honorable knight and nobody would doubt his words, or so he believed.

Ser Barristan had read the letter aloud, which stated that Lord Eddard shall be protector of the realm and shall rule as Regent until Joffrey comes of age.

Nobody in the Throne room made a single noise, nor did anyone care, since Cersei already had won the battle and Lord Eddard was on the losing end.

Cersei asked Ser Barristan to see the paper as she read it "You think this will save you Lord Stark, a piece of paper that could have been fabricated" Said Cersei as she ripped the paper

"But those were the King's word" Said Ser Barristan who was confused on why the queen ripped up and ignored the words of the king.

"We have a new King now" Said Cersei

Ser Barristan was still looking conflicted since he knew that those were the king's words as he has seen a letter written by the King before and knows that the King definitely signed the paper, but the queen just ignored it like it was nothing to her.

"Lord Stark the last time we spoke, I believe you threatened me and told me to flee the city with my children, accusing me of treason" Said Cersei obviously lying

"Well unlike you Lord Stark I am a woman of reason, so let me give you some advice" Said Cersei

"Bend the knee my lord and swear Loyalty to my son, and we shall let you live out the rest of your days in that cold waste you call a home" Said Cersei insulting Lord Eddard

"Your son nor do any of your children have a claim to the Throne" Said Lord Stark

"Liar" Yelled Joffrey since he knew for a fact that what Lord Stark was sating was a lie

"I tried to be a woman of Reason, Lord Stark" Said Cersei "Ser Barristan seize this traitor"

Ser Barristan walked up to Lord Stark, but two of his household guards had blocked him from getting any closer. Ser Barristan was still conflicted with the actions that the queen took.

He turned around and looked at the queen, "But from the King's words he is Lord Protector of the Realm" Said Ser Barristan trying to plead to the queen once again

The Queen looked at Ser Barristan before she made a decision, "Ser Sandor, take both Lord Stark and Ser Barristan into custody for treason" Said Cersei

Ser Sandor Clegane unsheathed his sword as Joffrey commanded to kill both Ser Barristan and Lord Stark along with his guards.

Everybody in the room unsheathed their swords ready to fight, Lord Stark commanded the Commander of the watch to arrest the queen and her children and put them in their rooms with guards watching them.

The Commander commanded his men who pointed their weapons at the Joffrey and Cersei, but one nod from Cersei to the Commander and the gold cloaks turned on Lord Stark and his men who were killed from behind.

Lord Eddard watched as he and his men were betrayed and tried to pull out his sword, but Little Finger or Lord Petyr Baelish had put a dagger to his throat.

Ser Barristan had attempted to pull his sword out, but Ser Sandor had cut his hand off, preventing him from drawing his sword. Ser Sandor was bleeding out as he was kicked to the ground by Ser Gregor.

Before Ser Sandor could give the finishing blow, the Queen stopped him, "Don't kill him, I want both of them to be publicly executed for their treason" Said Cersei

Both Ser Barristan and Lord Stark were taken away and thrown in the dungeon. Ser Barristan didn't even receive proper treatment and was still bleeding out in the dungeon.

At this time Lord Stark was somewhat worried about his daughters since even though he told them that if anything happens they will be safely escorted out of the city he still didn't trust the figure who serves the Emperor since he doesn't know if they will truly help his daughters.

Just as he was thinking about the figure, he heard somebody walking in the distance, but since it was so dark he couldn't see. Then suddenly a torch was lit up near Ser Barristan and Lord Stark saw a person start patching up Ser Barristan's hand and stop the bleeding.

After a couple of minutes the person started walking closer to Lord stark and as the person got closer Lord stark knew exactly who it was

"It's been a while, Lord Stark" Said the person
