Building A Kingdom with A Gacha System

Kameron, a teenage boy who tragically died alongside the girl he was falling in love with, is granted a second chance at life. But with his resurrection comes a mysterious Gacha system, which tasks him with the challenge of creating a brand new kingdom, giving him complete control over its destiny. As he navigates this unknown world and builds his empire, Kameron must face new challenges, unexpected twists and turns, and forge new alliances to establish his reign. But will his newfound power ultimately be a blessing or a curse? Hello, Zero here... this is just a book I’m writing for fun. Do I expect this to take off? No. I am just doing my own thing as original as can be. I have plans for this story but it probably won’t get that far. Give this story a review and you can be as tough as you want on me but please be aware that I am human and I have feelings.

Connections and Choices

With the sun beginning to rise on the horizon the quiet city slowly began to come alive. Soft chatter and constant movement were the common scenes at the Rosemary Inn every morning. Adventurers came and went, some just grabbing breakfast with friends before heading out while others ate in silence while enjoying the light-hearted atmosphere.

Seated at one of the empty tables in the middle of the room was a dark-skinned boy with worn-out clothes. The boy, Kameron, was enjoying his breakfast while thinking of his plans for the day until he felt a light tap on the shoulder.

Turning his head to see who has tapped him he Marcus behind him with a cleaned-up face and a new outfit.

"Come with me kid, we have to get you new clothes. If you have anything else to sell we can sell it to the Adventure's Association or the Auction House." He said as he pulled Kameron with him as he noticed he was done eating.

"Vanessa I'm taking the kid here to get some clothes! Sorry about the plate!" Marcus yelled while releasing Kameron as they walked outside together. "Let's sell anything you want to sell before buying clothes."

Taking a deep breath, Kameron looked around. Seeing the city was at least ten times more crowded than in the evening. There were even carts and carriages moving along the streets pulled by what seemed to be horses.

"Let's go to the adventurer's association."

Following Marcus, Kameron weaved through the slightly congested streets until they reached a large white building with a giant sign with the name of the Adventurer's Association on it. There, Kameron was able to become acquaintances with a worker called Emma. She was 24 with straight red hair, a lean figure, and an easy-going personality.

With assistance from Marcus, Kameron was able to sell his other animal corpses for 640 silver. As to how it got so high, that would be due to the wolf corpses being in great condition.

As they left the Association building, Kameron was lead the clothing store. There he was able to buy a lot of nice clothes. In all, he spent only 84 silver there to buy 50+ outfits.

"You look much better without those old rags on your body," Marcus said while looking over Kameron's current outfit which consisted of a white button-up and black pants.

"Kid, why didn't you register to become an adventurer? You could easily make friends and money that way. You can even make a name for yourself when you get stronger." He asked after remembering Kameron decline the offer to take the test.

"Well..let's say I have other plans." Replied Kameron as he put his extra clothes into his inventory. "Thanks again, Amelia." He said to the fox girl that has taken his measures as he started walking to the door of the shop.

"C-Come again!!!" The girl replied as her tail wagged happily as she watched Kameron and Marcus leave the store. "He was so handsome..."

Outside, the duo walked to the blacksmith, after Kameron decided to buy a bit of armor so he won't be wide open during battle. Once again, helped by Marcus, he was able to buy a suit of lightweight iron plate.

Kameron looked like a general newbie in RPG games but he didn't care since the armor increased his health by 2,000 and it only cost 200 silver.

"Thanks, Dennis. This armor doesn't restrict me at all." Kameron said as he turned to the blacksmith who was a slightly younger man than Marcus. Dennis, the man looking around his mid-forties stretched out his hand, which was covered in calluses, to Marcus.

"It's nothing difficult for me to make. I'm happy that you like my work. If you need it repaired in the future come back here. As a friend of Marcus, I'll give you a discount." He said with a laugh while shifting his eyes to Kameron.

"Don't trust his "discounts" Kameron, the highest he goes up to is 5 percent. He is a cheapskate!" Marcus retorted as he shook hands with Dennis.

"Thank you for helping him, Dennis," Marcus said as he laughed while looking at the blacksmith and looked at Kameron. "Now we have gotten you everything you needed. Money, clothes, and armor. Do you need anything else in town before I go and set up my stall?" He asked as he looked at the kid who was looking around his feet, seeming like he was observing the armor some more.

Unfortunately, Kameron was watching the tiny elementals run around his legs and play fight.

"They play so much..." he commented in his mind.

"Kameron, I'm going to go set up my stall. Come see me when you have stuff to sell or go to the association building." Marcus said as he stepped out of the smithy without really waiting for a response. He had already used a couple of hours helping Kameron buy and sell stuff so his job was finished.

Watching the old man leave the smithy, Kameron was a bit sad that he had lost his walking buddy but after a minute he got over it. "I shouldn't waste any more time, I need to get to the south."

Walking out of the smithy after saying farewell to Dennis, Kameron set off towards the gate of the city. There were actually multiple city gates but Kameron only knows of the one he entered from.

With his increased intellect he had remembered the general direction it back towards the gate and after a few minutes, he made it.

Looking around he saw carts and people on horses leaving and entering the city without end. Walking around the area surrounding the gate he found an old man hiring bodyguards as he transported goods in his cart to the southern city of Lennox.

Usually, adventurers would accept this request simply

"I'm sorry, I can only pay 50 silver for the request..." the old man said as he looked at a group of adventures begin walking away. As he sighed and was about to make the trip alone a teenager in silver armor, brown skin, purple eyes, and white hair walked to him.

"I'll take the job." The youth said as he stood in front of him.

"Are you sure? The south is very dangerous, the war with the demons continues till this day and even bandits are taking advantage of the chaos." The old man said a bit unsure if the young man before him knew what he was accepting.

"Don't worry sir, I know the dangers already. Let me guard you on your way to the south."

"It will take 5 days to travel to the southern city, are you sure you want to come with me?"

"Absolutely!"

Unable to offer any more words of consideration to the young man, the old man accepted his help and promised payment when they arrived at the Lennox.

Seeing as he didn't have a horse either, the old man suggested the young man, Kameron, ride inside of his cart. Luckily it had a roof at the top to block the sun or Kameron would have had to sleep with his sword on his body.

Hopping inside of the cart, the old man looked back to make sure he had enough space to be comfortable.

Kameron reassured the old man that he was fine while watching the tiny elementals climb into the cart after him. After guards connected a couple of horses to the front of the cart, it left the city right around noon.

I couldn’t think of any skills for the merchant class so as compensation I increased the stat points gained after each level.

If you enjoy the story feel free to vote with those power stones and also, comment which class you think Kameron to select.
