19 John Wick

The pistol, he kept on his waist as for the other two he kept it back inside his inventory without Suki noticing realizing it might be too much. But if the situation called for it, he could always access it.

No matter how cocky he acted doubting an opponent's ability wasn't his thing, he was confident but he knew for a fact that experiences matter the most in these conditions considering both of them had similar abilities.

Suki without even breaking a sweat hit the accelerator as they drove off for the car. It was different watching her and being in the car yourself, to witness the difference in her skill.

With the way she was driving, it might seem reckless to the amateurs but her precision and control said otherwise. Bruce subtly put on his seat belt, as he laid back hoping they wouldn't crash.

It wasn't that he didn't trust her abilities, he just wasn't used to this sort of driving.

And with her upgraded skill, it didn't take long for her to overtake John's car as she hit on the brakes, smoothly blocking his car.

"We're here," Suki said,

"Oh! yeah." Bruce coughed as he wasn't paying attention to the road at all, as he was more focused on surviving her driving.

"Good luck!" She said not noticing his awkwardness as he stepped out of the car.

Unlike John he wasn't wearing a suit but was in a t-shirt and shorts, after all, he wasn't intending to fight. John who stepped out of the car was in a full black suit as he was staring at him, likely trying to analyze his intentions.

"First of all, nice to meet you," Bruce said walking towards him but maintained enough distance to make sure the other party wouldn't get the wrong idea, "I am Bruce Walker, an assassin or ex-assassin to be more precise."

Bruce was suddenly overwhelmed with awkwardness as talking wasn't really his thing, and in his head, the way he would meet Wick was completely different. It was either going to be in a heated battle where they would be fighting on the same side or at each other's throats.

But this situation wasn't any one of it.

"Who do you work for kid?" John asked still on guard,

"Not for Viggo, so that should be enough." Bruce shrugged, "I know you're heading to Carter Verone's mansion, to get Viggo's son but I can't have you do that just yet."

John raised his eyebrows, "I don't want to hurt you."

"Neither do I." Bruce said shrugging, "But can you hear me out once."

John looked at him wondering what the boy in front of him was thinking, he was young but he had seen enough in the business to know that they weren't that much of a rarity.

There would always be a cocky newcomer now and then, overconfident of their abilities and would mostly end up dying. But it was a first for him to see someone approach him this way.

He had a pistol on his waist and nothing else. Judging from his look he was out on a vacation with his girlfriend who was in the car. But skills were hard to hide when you have been in the industry for a long time.

From the way, they walked to the way they carried themselves it was easy to judge what kind of background the person had. But with the boy in front of him, he didn't look anything but regular.

But that was what bothered him as he correlated the rumors around the continental and the boy.

John nodded gesturing him to continue.

"There are 107 people inside of the mansion, fully armed and ready to kill, the place isn't that big so you don't need me to tell you about how the situation could go. 40 of them are assassins from the continental hired by Viggo as for their skill, it should likely be on the upper end."

"Why are you telling me all this?" John asked,

"Because I want Carter Verone and he is selling an item to Viggo's son that I need. You can kill him for all I care, but I can't have you ruining my plan. So I want to ask that you wait till tomorrow when their transaction happens." Bruce answered honestly as there wasn't a point in lying or making stuff off. "Oh! Did I mention how F.B.I and the U.S customs are involved in this too?"

"You still haven't answered my questions yet."

"Since we have a similar objective, I want to work with you," Bruce said with a sigh, "I get my item, you get your target. And we both don't die in there."

John nodded as he looked at Suki in the car,

"She isn't an assassin." Bruce said noticing his gaze, "She's normal."

"With that driving, she isn't." John said, "You don't want to owe me a favor kid."

"I don't have many choices left." Bruce shrugged, "It's either that or I'll have to stop you."

"You can always quit a mission."

"I can't quit this one." Bruce said, "I am on the same road as you were a couple of years back, I have to do this if I want to get out."

"I won't beg you for this, but I won't back down either." Bruce said confidently with his head held up high, "So, how do you want to do this?"

Bruce kept his hands near his pistols as he followed John's every movement.

John looked over at Bruce who was still as a rock glaring at him, and towards Suki who was looking over at Bruce with concern in her eyes as he suddenly felt a little nostalgic.

"You've got guts kid." John said, "I'll wait till tomorrow and I am doing it with or without you."

"Great!" Bruce couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief, "Let's talk somewhere for a change then."

It wasn't that Bruce was scared of him, but John was basically the monster that your parents will tell stories about when you were a child, and fighting that monster head-on isn't something anyone wanted to do.

They walked over to each other and shook hands, "It's good to meet you, Mr. Wick."

"You're unusual, Knight."

"Knight?"
