No regrets

"Check this out." Kevin said as he held the type 100 submachine gun up on his face.

I smiled as I observed the rest of the gang inspecting the weapons inside the crate right in front of us.

"Damn, we be ownin' the whole city in just a second." Dave joked as he brought up a .38 pistol and began rotating the cylinder childishly.

"This is how you do it." Nick motioned Dave to look at him and made an aiming gesture, his hands forming a gun shape while his mouth blabbered shooting sounds.

"Bang, bang, bang." Everyone began laughing at Nick's childish antics.

What a hypocrite... after all this time acting matured and sh*t.

Looking at Kevin who is now slinging the submachinegun over his shoulder, I felt amusement just by looking at his arrogant acts.

"Watch how I'll plow those bastards into nothingness" Kevin quickly made a slitting gesture on his neck, which produced a few laughter from our group.

This dude is hoarding all the best guns for himself.

"Kevin, hand that shit to Christian, you already got a tec-9 yourself." I called out to him, making him turn his head towards me with dissatisfaction.

"Albert, let me just-" But before he could finish his words, the others suddenly interrupted him.

"Kevin, you selfish bastard." Dave said.

"Oh right, I just remembered he was already strapped in the first place." Nick added.

"C'mon Kevin, give me that." Christian went over to Kevin and lightly tapped his shoulder.

And just like the dog he is, Kevin reluctantly gave in the weapon to Christian whilst giving me an irritated gaze.

Well, I'm just trying to make sure everyone is armed and ready.

Smirking at him, I turned towards everyone and began to address them.

"Alright guys," Their attention quickly turned towards me, "First of all, I would like to thank everybody who had stick with us in these troubled times, I am really grateful, really... very grateful." I smiled at all of them.

They all nod their heads in agreement, with Kevin even going as to hug every each one of them.

"Ow, that hurts man..." Christian muttered as Kevin slowly squeezed the life out of him.

Laughing at the scene, I continued my speech.

"We fought together... showed everyone in town who's the f*cking boss!" I raised my hand up high, with the others following suit.

"Yeah, we're the boss!" Dave yelled.

"We own Fellund heights!" Kevin added.

Pointing my finger towards Kevin, I began to crack a smile.

"Damn right Kevin, we own Fellund heights, and it's only a matter of time before we own the whole goddamn city!" everyone began to cheer at my words.

I then slowly grab the .38 pistol tucked in my pants, and held it high for everyone to see.

"We're the Grey lilies..." I called out to everyone of them, "Anyone who messes with us ends up with a bullet planted in their head!"

"Grey lilies forever!" Kevin yelled.

"Aye" everyone followed suit.

"Today... we're going to cap some nasty ugly looking motherf*ckers who thinks they owned the entire street!"

"Unlucky bastards" Nick muttered under his breath.

Now this is what I'm waiting for...

With their morale slightly high, time to add a little fuel to the fire for it to engulf everything.

"WHO OWNS THE STREETS?!" I asked everyone in front of me.

"WE DO!" everyone eagerly responded.

"WHO... SETS THE F*CKING RULES HERE?!"

"WE DO!"

"AND HOW ARE WE GOING TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE WHO THINKS THEY CAN DESTROY EVERYTHING?!"

"Shoot 'em" Kevin was the first to speak out, followed by the others.

"Beat them up and throw their bodies in the river!" Added Dave, causing the others to slightly chuckle at his remarks.

"I say we hang them under the bridge for everyone to see!" Nick suggested.

That's a good one, but... it can arouse too much suspicion to us and lead the law back towards us.

But I'm not going to stop them from voicing out their opinions, after all I am the one who gets the last say in this matter, so let them relieve and enjoy themselves with their pride.

"Alright, now hide it nice and slowly." I said as I watched Christian slowly slid the submachine gun inside a small sack.

Turning towards the others, I can see them holstering their firearms on either their belts and pockets.

"Be sure to bring extra magazines and ammos with you." I reminded all of them.

They all then nodded towards me in response.

Turning towards the door leading outside the apartment room, I began to make my way towards it.

"Come follow me when you're ready." I gestured for all of them to follow me.

Arriving at the door, I place my hand on the knob and twisted it.

Pulling the door open, I stepped outside and stared down at the hallway in front of me.

Breathing out a sigh, I began to walk down the hallway, occasionally glancing at the doors that lined up on each sides of the wall.

Is this the right path I'm going?

Is all of this worth it?

Shaking my head from such thoughts, I finally arrived on the lobby.

Turning towards the reception desk, I saw that the receptionist was not present.

Guy's probably on lunch break.

Switching my eyes towards the large glass windows, I can see the day going about in the city as usual, with the frequent people and passersby walking down the sidewalks, while vehicles sped down the road, with the distant sirens howling over the city.

Suddenly hearing footsteps behind me, I turned my head behind and saw the rest of the group trailing after me.

"Lock and loaded?" I asked.

"Never been ready..." Kevin chuckled.

Spotting Christian behind him slinging a sack over his shoulder, I couldn't help but release a few smiles.

The guy's suspicious as f*ck...

"What are you smiling at?" Christian had already noticed me staring and smiling at him and decided to ask.

"I suggest as if you were just a mere student on a cleaning project, dude looks like as if he was smuggling drugs." At that, all the others immediately laughed at my remark.

"True, the way you held it as if you were slinging a carbine on your back." Nick added, making Christian slightly embarrassed.

"Just drag it across the ground like you're carrying a bunch of heavy garbage." I told them and gestured for him to drop the sack.

Following my instructions, Christian slowly unslung the sack from his shoulder and starts to lower it on the ground, careful as to not drop the sack with the gun inside.

The gun's already old as shit, for all we know, it could start misfiring at any time.

"Wait, I have something for you." Telling the guys to wait for me, I went towards the small storage room behind the receptionist desk.

Checking if there's anyone inside, which I had found none, I stepped inside and glanced at the two shelves with different kinds of items stacked together on each platform.

Walking over towards where the janitor kept his tools in, I immediately saw a few items used for cleaning, mops and brooms alike leaning over the wall.

Bingo...

Spotting a 2-feet trash picker laying besides a broom, I immediately grabbed the thing and went for the outside.

Stepping outside the room, I can see the rest of the gang waiting for me outside.

Smiling, I strolled towards them and handed Christian the trash-picker.

"Here" Everyone seems to understand the meaning behind all of this and nodded their heads in agreement.

Walking towards the main door of the building, I once glance behind me to make sure everyone was following me and once confirming they were, I continued to make my way and finally reached outside the building.

Breathing in the familiar city air that swept before my face, I saw Kevin's pick-up truck parked in front of the building.

As the whole gang went past me, I watched as Kevin walked towards his vehicle and got inside, followed by the others as they took their own designated seats, the last one to embark was me as I sat besides Kevin.

Looking him directly in the eye, he turned his head towards the front and immediately started the vehicle.

The engines made a slight roaring vibrations as we began to speed down the road.

Looking through the windows, I watched as the apartment building slowly disappears from view and was instead replaced by new ones.

Turning back towards the inside of the vehicle, I made one last check on the .38 pistol on my pants, rotating the cylinder which held all the bullets to check if there were any missing ones.

Finding none, I glanced behind and saw the rest of the gang doing the same on the truck bed.

Breathing out a sigh, I turned back towards the front and didn't noticed myself slightly cracking a smile.
