award show - kth

Luna

meaning: moon

The last time Luna stood in front of a countless number of cameras was when she worked as a news anchor a year ago. Today was her first live appearance on national TV after giving birth to her little angel. Ignoring all the times her face was on the front page of every newspaper and the main topic of all the news and entertainment shows worldwide. Why? Simple, marrying one of the hottest idols that this earth has seen, gives you that privilege. Note the sarcasm.

A month ago, she received an offer to be the host of an award show and they promised to pay for all expenses. After contemplating her decision for a couple of days she accepted the offer.

Weeks rushed by and before she knew it the day of the event came. Luna was sitting in the car driving to the venue. Her heart was twisting and thumping in a mixture of nerves and excitement.

She was awed by the sight in front of her when she stepped out of the car. The place was the definition of elegance, a long red carpet was spread from the parking lot to the entrance of the building. A mixture of fans and reporters were lined up on both sides waiting for the celebrities to grace the event. The awards show was held on a beautiful spring afternoon, the soft cold breeze that danced through her curls managed to erase all the insecurities that were eating her up minutes ago. Luna took the first step and started walking down the red carpet holding her head high.

"It's Kang Luna!", a voice screeched and suddenly all the attention was on her.

The countless numbers of lights flashing in her face almost blinded her, but she somehow managed to keep a soft smile on her face while waving at the crowd. Luna hoped that the panic she felt in her stomach wasn't evident on her features as she was in no way used to the attention she was currently receiving.

"How do you feel about your first official appearance after marriage?

"Does your husband know you're here?"

"Did you leave your child in Korea or did you bring him with you?"

Luna maintained her composure, trying to ignore the cameras that were being shoved in her face, she smiled as naturally as possible. She avoided answering the questions thrown at her, to prevent any misinterpretations that the press seemed to love. A sigh escaped her lips when the security guards rushed to her aid, putting a safe distance between her and the reports.

After the photo session, Luna walked to the stage and was handed her script for the day, which she skimmed through and added notes, where she thought, was needed.

"The live broadcast will start in five minutes", a staff member interrupted snapping Luna out of her concentration.

"Would you like a sip of water, you look nervous", a handsome man asked as he offered her a water bottle. It was Eric, the nation's ultimate crush, and he was her partner for the day.

Luna took the time to admire his chestnut hair that was combed back neatly to the side of his head, its colour reminding her of her morning coffee. His choice of attire surprised her, instead of going for something flashy, Eric opted for a formal black suit, with the first two buttons of his white shirt undone, allowing his sun-kissed skin to peek through it.

Luna had to stop herself from gawking at the masterpiece next to her to process the words that were leaving his plump lips.

Wait snap out of it, Luna!

"But come on who would blame me for admiring the beauty of an attractive man?", she unconsciously mumbled.

"Did you say something?"

Luna's eyes widened as she met the questioning brown orbs of Eric.

"Don't mind me, I was talking to myself", she chuckled, trying to hide her embarrassment.

"Don't be too nervous, just think of it as another news broadcast, you've got this", he assured her with the cutest smile.

"We'll be live in 10 seconds, standby everyone!" the same staff member announced through a microphone.

Luna quickly checked her outfit and makeup one last time before taking a deep breath, calming her thumping heart.

"3,2,1 and we're live!"

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the 26th Asian Awards. My name is Eric and I'm honoured to be your host for the evening." Eric took the lead and introduced himself with a charming smile.

"And I'm Kang Luna, thank you for having me here," Luna said as she gave a small wave to the camera.

They introduced the first idol group, which came up on stage and instead of being nervous Luna was having fun while interacting with all the idols and actors she only saw on TV. A wholehearted laugh would occasionally escape her lips thanks to the jokes Eric would crack.

Time passed by quickly and before she knew it, the last and most anticipated band was walking down the red carpet.

"Let's welcome the worldwide band, the pride of this beautiful country, BTS!" Eric clapped in enthusiasm and was joined by Luna who smiled widely at the sight of seven men walking down the red carpet.

Here they were, looking all fancy in their expensive suits and perfectly styled hair, the fan cheers were unbelievably loud and supportive, but Luna couldn't keep her eyes off one of them. He looked like he came out of a model magazine, every step he took was oozing confidence.

His chiselled jawline lifted slightly as the boxy smile she loved graced his features. He wore a tailored brown suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and a colourful scarf was tied around his neck. The wind blew through his newly dyed black hair as he stood tall next to his members, completely unfazed by the numerous flashing cameras.

Oh god did she miss him. She bit her lip as she forced herself to stay standing next to Eric instead of sprinting into her husband's arms. I mean Eric was hot but that man over there just took her breath away. Furthermore, they were live and she didn't want any embarrassing stuff haunting her.

Taehyung on the other side didn't notice his wife as he was busy greeting his fans and the reporters.

"Any comments about your wife?"

"Kim Taehyung, I love you"

"Did you know about your wife's appearance?"

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows puzzled; he didn't know why the reporters were suddenly mentioning his wife. For all he knew, she was at home with their five-month-old baby. Before he could muster an answer to the overflowing questions directed at him, he felt a hand pulling him towards the stage. Taehyung brushed off the questions with a smile as he followed Jimin up the steps.

Taehyung squinted his eyes in confusion before freezing in his place. His jaw dropped when his eyes landed on a familiar figure. His mind took a little time to process the fact that his wife was standing on the stage.

The emerald green colour suited her slightly darker skin, the floor-length gown was fitted around her waist and her wide hips gave her body an hourglass shape. A slit that reached her mid-thigh empathized her slender legs giving her a sexy vibe. Luna's curly brown hair fell into soft layers around her bare shoulders. Taehyung watched her nervous eyes looking between the faces of his members before meeting his. As soon as their eyes locked her face lit up and a breath-taking smile graced her face.

"Taehyung stop staring and come!" Yoongi chuckled snapping Taehyung out of his daze. Taehyung looked around and noticed that the members were already standing on stage, he cleared his throat embarrassed by the fact that he was caught drooling over his wife on live TV and rushed to their side.

"Hello, we are BTS!" their introduction was welcomed with a loud cheer from both the fans and the reporters.

Taehyung tried to focus on Eric's questions, but his eyes unconsciously went to his wife who was standing next to Eric. He smiled softly as he saw her interact with the boys and interview them like a professional. It took him back to the countless times he insisted on watching the news despite his busy schedule, just to see her. And of course, while gushing to the boys about her beauty.

"Luna out of the seven handsome men standing in front of you, who do you think is dressed the best tonight?" Eric's hand rested on Luna's shoulder, as he turned his body to face her.

Taehyung was the only one that noticed the interaction between the two. His eyes twitched and he kissed his teeth in annoyance as he shot daggers at Eric who was oblivious to the entire situation.

"That's unfair, we all know who she'll choose" Jimin whined as he glanced at Taehyung then at his dark green suit that matched his lenses.

"We also know that it won't be you." Jungkook teased earning a glare from Jimin.

"Gentleman, please we have to be realistic here. I mean look at my outfit. It was specially made for me and only me. The designer admitted that not everyone would look good in this attire, I mean look at me, you have to have my proportions to be able to save this outfit." Yoongi dusted off the navy-blue suit that he paired with a low-cut dress shirt and a choker.

"Funny to hear you say that, we all know she'll choose me. I certainly am the best dressed out of you fashion terrorists" Hoseok twirled, his glittery black tuxedo sparkling against the flashing cameras.

"I'm sorry to burst your bubble gentlemen but we all know who the best-looking person in this room is", Seokjin threw a kiss to the crowd which was received with loud cheers.

Luna was surprised at how handsome Jin looked in his unusual attire. His jacket and trousers were a shrill hot pink that were matched with a black tie and matching shoes.

"I don't care who she chooses, I like my outfit and that's what matters" Jungkook shrugged, secretly not liking the outfit his stylist made him wear. Jungkook was wearing a blood-red jacket with black pants and a cute black bow tie.

"Don't make me laugh, would you like me to remind you of the time we criticized your outfit and you didn't talk to us for a week?", everyone including Eric laughed at Jimin's statement.

"Hey, you promised not to tell!" a blush spread across Jungkook's cheeks but Jimin just shrugged.

"Guys, can you be quiet and let Luna choose already?" Namjoon brushed his hair to the side patiently waiting for Luna to make her decision.

Luna glanced at Namjoon and was taken back by how handsome he looked in his grey suit. He had a thick black coloured belt tied around his waist and a pair of black round glasses were resting on his nose. His confidence showed in the way he stood and how he spoke with that dazzling smile of his.

Luna inspected the seven men one by one her eyes scanning every single detail of their outfit until her eyes landed on the scarf around Taehyungs neck. It looked oddly familiar.

"I like your scarf", she knowingly smirked at her husband while pointing at it.

"What? This? Thank you it was sponsored", Taehyung smiled sheepishly while running his slender fingers through his hair.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah".

"I guess the name of the sponsor is Kang Luna", she lifted her eyebrow.

"I knew it, I was sure that I saw this scarf somewhere", Jungkook exclaimed as he pointed at Taehyung who rubbed his neck in embarrassment.

"I thought that it would look good with my outfit, so I took it."

"I was looking for it the whole morning! I had to change my outfit because that scarf was missing", she huffed.

"Well, I guess that's good because you look breathtakingly gorgeous", Taehyung tried to change the subject which earned him a glare from Luna.

"Can you both get yourselves a room", Jungkook said.

"Woah, I almost barfed", Hoseok shuddered.

"Nice try, but I'm not changing the subject", she stuck her tongue out.

"Does this mean the scarf that Taehyung is wearing is yours?", Eric asked.

"Yes, it is, let me tell you something about my dear husband", Luna chuckled before continuing, "This beautiful husband of mine borrows half of my belongings, I particularly sponsor at least one item from every outfit he wears".

"Oh come on, you wear my sweaters all the time", Taehyung whined.

"Yeah, but I ask you first."

"Okay, fine. I'll ask for your permission before borrowing anything that's yours."

"More like taking", Luna mumbled then continued "Do you remember the beautiful rings that were sold out because you wore them? Those were mine. Or the crescent moon necklace that Namjoon gifted me. Wait, there was this shirt-" Taehyung ran over to her side and covered her mouth as a dry laugh escaped his lips.

"I think that's enough", he chuckled nervously before pulling his hand away and sending his wife a warning look. The reporters and fans laughed at the scene unfolding in front of them. Even though Luna married their precious Taehyung, they still loved and respected her. They also enjoyed how Luna would occasionally pop in one of Taehuyng's live broadcasts to scold him for leaving his plates in the sink or to tell the fans an embarrassing story.

"Fine, now back to the best-dressed member, Taehyung you're disqualified because you took my scarf ", she smiled smugly at her pouting husband and continued "The best-dressed member is Namjoon. I mean he's wearing my favourite colour and he looks dashing in it."

"Luna your sense of fashion never seems to disappoint me", Namjoon smiled widely as he stepped forward to pose for the cameras.

"Pff, someone doesn't know anything about fashion", Hoseok scowled.

"If that is what she calls fashion then I feel sorry for her", Jungkook added.

"Whatever, you're just jealous I rock pink better than you", Jin said while fixing his hair.

Luna laughed at the pouty grown men in front of her, she couldn't believe that something as small as this could scratch their pride, but she knew that their anger won't last five full minutes.

The interview lasted for a couple more minutes that were full of laughter before BTS left the stage leaving Luna and Eric standing side by side.

The boys were escorted to their waiting rooms.

"Doesn't she just look gorgeous?" Jimin smiled proudly as he watched Luna smiling in the TV placed in their waiting room.

"Yeah, green suits her a lot", Namjoon nodded in agreement.

"Damn right", Taehyung swooned.

"Luna I'm sorry to tell you this but you might be asked to leave the stage", Eric's voice, coming from the TV, interrupted their conversation.

"What do you mean?", Luna furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"Because you're making the other ladies look bad with your beauty", Eric grinned.

The blush on Luna's face made Taehyung roll his eyes.

"I can't believe she blushed at his excuse of a pickup line", Taehyung rolled his eyes.

"Oh come on, you have to admit that was smooth", Yoongi said as he mentally noted the pickup line.

"Someone is jealous", Jungkook sang in the background.

"I'm not jealous, I just don't understand why she'd blush because of that?"

"That's exactly what someone jealous would say", Hoseok teased then doubled over laughing with Jungkook.

"Remember when I said you looked cool? I lied", Taehyung stuck his tongue at Hoseok who gasped dramatically.

"I'm going for a walk", Taehyung announced.

Luna, on the other hand, was standing in the corridor and laughing at a joke Eric just cracked. She knew he was handsome but him being funny just made him more attractive. His jokes were good, but she still preferred the ones Yoongi or Jin would crack, those made her laugh until she wasn't able to breathe.

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?", Eric suddenly asked as he inched closer.

Luna's laughter died down as she started to feel uncomfortable.

before she could politely reject him she felt an arm around her shoulders.

"It didn't, because I was there to catch her", Taehyung answered with a tight smile "Now if you'll excuse us".

"I can't believe that douchebag was flirting with a married woman", Taehyung grumbled as he walked to his waiting room his arm securely wrapped around Luna's shoulders.

"Are you jealous?", Luna chuckled at her jealous husband.

"That's a very irrelevant topic, let's talk about more important stuff, like the weather", Taehyung looked away as he tried to hide his jealousy.

"The fact that you're jealous makes this conversation important", Luna urged, but Taehyung didn't answer as he kept walking.

"Were you really worried that I'd let the nation's crush flirt with me?", Luna poked Taehyung's cheeks. He sent her a playful glare before slapping her hand away.

"I said I'm not jealous", Taehyung pouted making Luna giggle. She couldn't believe that a grown man was pouting and acting like a child over a failed flirting attempt by Eric.

"Let's be honest here, Eric is hot, very hot- ", her sentence was cut off by another glare from Taehyung as he quickened his pace leaving her standing alone in the hallway.

"Wait, you know I can't keep up with your long legs", she huffed as she lightly jogged after him.

"Let me continue", she said as she linked her arm in his, "he is hot but the moment I saw you I felt like all the air in my lungs got sucked out and it took all my willpower to not run into your arms. By the way, I like your new hair colour, black suits you a lot", she leaned her head on his shoulder.

"Pff, of course. Eric got nothing on my good looks", he smirked as he pulled his wife closer to him.

"See! You were jealous", Luna giggled as she pointed at him.

"Let's just say that I was concerned", he tried to compromise as he rolled his eyes.

Luna smiled in amusement as they walked the hallway.

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?", Taehyung imitated Eric's voice mockingly.

"Shut up", she playfully slapped him. "I'm glad you came or else I wouldn't have known what to do."

"Luna, I'm sorry to tell you this but you might be asked to leave the stage", Taehyung continued to tease her.

"I said shut up!", Luna demanded with a laugh.

Taehyung and Luna entered the waiting room with their arms wrapped around each other and huge smiles painted over their faces.

"I'm disappointed in you Luna", Jin said as soon as he saw her.

"What do you mean?"

"I can't believe that you've reached the level of laughing at low-quality jokes."

"You mean Eric?"

"Damn right, I mean Eric. I haven't raised you to like this."

Luna rolled her eyes at him over exaggerating.

"I know right? Like how she could laugh at his jokes when a comedy genius is one of her friends?", Jungkook added before continuing, "What does he have that I don't?"

"A sense of humour", Luna smirked, snorts were heard throughout the room.

"Damn it hurts when you say it out loud", Jungkook mumbled before returning to what he was doing.

The next day the internet was filled with pictures and videos of the interaction between Luna, her husband and his bandmates. Everyone seemed to love how she exposed Taehyung's cute habit on live TV and the little bickerings that happened. Furthermore, everyone praised her for making BTS comfortable and being a professional, even though it was her first time hosting an award show.
