34 Update

[3rd Person POV]

In a corner of the room, Cyborg had finally found a hidden door, leading to a secret compartment of the room. Hidden inside of it was the Father Box.

"Finally! I found it. Now I just gotta connect to it." he says.

He walks towards the Father box, and grabs it. The instant the box touches his hands, a few wires come out of his arm and connect to the alien supercomputer.

He then begins to configure the Father box to be controlled by him instead of Apokolips' forces. He makes sure to complete this process as fast as possible as it leaves him completely open to attacks.

Unbeknownst to him, a sickly, pale figure is also present in the room. Desaad, quite sneaks up behind him with a blade in hand, intending to slice Cyborg's throat.

"Did you really think you could mess with our systems and get away with it? After we eliminate your friends I'll make sure to turn you into our computer, you monkey!" as he gets up behind him.

But before he can execute this plan, he suddenly feels someone tap him on the shoulder. He turns around, only to see Shazam standing there, menacingly.

"Hey there, buddy. Not much of a 'brat' now, am l?" he said.

On hearing these words from Shazam, Desaad was positively frightened. He had chills running through his spine.

"Just end it." he finally said, in a downtrodden tone.

"Gladly" replied Shazam, before dishing out an uppercut, instantly knocking him out.

In the main portal room, Mister Miracle was working on the boomtubes to send the hostages out of the parademon stronghold. He had almost decrypted the key needed to activate the boom tubes. Green Lantern was taking care of any parademons coming their way.

"Done! Now, to send them somewhere safe" Mr. Miracle exclaimed.

He then chose the coordinates to teleport the prisoners to and enter the teleport key, beginning the process.

"Guys! I'm done here, get ready to leave!" He cried, alerting everyone present.

The rest were chaining up the Furies to make sure they wouldn't escape as Superman was Finishing up his fight with Granny Goodness.

With one punch, Granny Goodness crashed into a wall. She stood back up and as she looked behind Superman, she kneeled on the ground.

"Are you ready to give up?" asked Superman.

"I'm not kneeling because of you, you gnat!" she said in an angered tone.

Suddenly, Superman was thrown into the floor in an instant. Looking up, Superman saw a 7ft tall man with greyish skin and a metallic dark blue armour.

Granny Goodness then addresses this newcomer "Your humble servant welcomes you, Lord Darkseid."

[Arnold POV]

I woke up, only to find myself in a room, very similar to the one me and my brothers had found ourselves in years earlier. Only this time, instead of being all white, it was all black. I stood still for a moment after which I realised that I was butt naked.

In front of me was a giant screen, and on it was written

[Achievement unlocked. As a reward you shall unlock all restricted functions of the curse-king system.

"Huh, I wonder what that's about?" I thought out loud.

"You're simply unlocking your full potential." a voice came from behind me.

I turned around only to find… myself. Well, either that or someone wearing my costume.

'But how! Although the voice is different, almost emotionless, the way he walks and the way he's standing are exactly like me. And those are definitely my clothes, I've marked them with a specific print that makes it obvious. So who is this guy?" I wondered.

"It seems you couldn't recognise my voice host. Well no matter, it's not what matters anyways." he said.

"Wait, is that you, El? But how? And why in that form? More importantly, what is this place?" I asked.

"It is indeed me, dear host. And this form… Well it is merely a representation of your understanding of me. Or to be precise, it is how you visualise your own powers. As for where we are, let's just say we're inside a space you won't be able to comprehend yet. Well until the system is updated anyways." He answers my queries one by one.

"What is this system update about anyways? Why give it to me now?" I asked.

He again began to answer "Well of course you've received the system update! It was planned to be given to you the moment you received me, host. Although I didn't expect you to meet the conditions for it so soon."

"What conditions?" I asked again, each answer seemingly raising more and more questions.

He began to explain "Well, there were three to be specific, all of which you completed in one day, as a matter of fact. Of course, I congratulate you for this achievement. Firstly, it was to kill a being not insignificant to the design of time. Meaning killing a figure whose presence will cause a change in the future. Killing Steppenwolf achieved this goal. Second, was mastering a single cursed technique, or obtaining over 10 cursed techniques. This was achieved when you used domain expansion earlier. Third, was making a bond with people who are at the centre of the universe, for example, the heroes which now call you an ally. Once you did all of this, your full potential was unlocked."

"And so, what does this update entail?" I asked my system once more.

"Well it will take all the time we have left, but regardless, allow me to explain…" he said, starting to tell me how this update worked.

As he began telling me about what I would become capable of in the future, i could only think 'Holy shit, I'm cracked.'
