[Arnold POV]

'What the fuck?!' were the only words that my brain could come up with right now. How the hell did these guys manage to capture a Kryptonian of all things. And if this really is a regular DC universe and not some crazy dark universe then it means that it's not just any kryptonian they've captured. It's probably Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin.

How did the court of owls manage to capture her, I do not know but we have to save her or we'll have some serious problems.

At this point, Batman speaks through the communicator "I'll secure the girl. I'll trust you to handle the resistance."

I replied "Roger that. I'll open the cage for you."

Then both of us jump into the open. Batman rushes towards the cage and I fire «Dismantle» at its top. The cage opens as dozens of Talons show up in order to protect it and defeat us.

'Let's get started, then.' I think to myself as I face the incoming enemies.

[3rd person POV]

Batman rushes towards the cage, immediately jumping inside, and approaching the girl who was imprisoned inside.

"Calm down, it'll be alright" he says, before taking out a syringe from his utility belt and injecting it into the girl. This causes the young girl to fall unconscious and Batman lifts her up, prepared to carry her out.

While this happens, Nostradamus engages in combat with the talons. The emotionless soldiers rush at him, intending to kill. But before the talons can even attempt to land a hit, their hands are frozen in place unable to move.

Nostradamus simply raises two of his fingers causing the talons' limbs to twist and spiral, eventually crumpling into slush. He then teleports to Batman, and asks him "Why is she out cold?"

Batman replied "Anaesthetic laced with trace amounts of Kryptonite. She'll recover eventually once the Kryptonite gets flushed out of her system."

By now, the Court of owls calms down and seeing this sudden attack occur, the members of the court of owls feel great anger at the two intruders, and all of them, as well as another dozen talons, all aim machine guns towards Nostradamus and Batman.

"Well fuck!" says Nostradamus.

Batman asks "Can you get us out of here?"

Nostradamus replies "Not really, my teleportation needs really specific conditions for activation, and they haven't been met. I was hoping you'd have a plan to get out of here."

Batman asks "I don't. At least not yet. Can you protect us until I have one?"

Nostradamus simply nods his head, before making a hand sign, and chanting "Domain expansion: Malevolent shrine."

Instantly, the area around them gets covered by a thin layer of water as a demonic shrine appears behind them. This causes the Court of Owls to open fire, only for the bullets to get eviscerated by a series of «Dismantle» as soon as they enter the domain. For a solid 5 minutes, the gunfire continues, but to no effect, as both of the intruders as well the kryptonian girl are unscathed.

Eventually the gunfire stops, as the Court of owls runs out of bullets. Only then does Nostradamus cancel his domain, and instead turns towards Batman.

Before he can say anything, a group of Talons rushes their way, intending to do the job manually. Both our heroes engage the talons, with Batman kicking a talon straight in the gut, sending him flying, after which he low kicks another talon, causing him to trip, and fall flat on the floor, all while holding the girl in his arms. He then stomps on the talon's face, knocking it out cold.

Meanwhile, Nostradamus deals with the talons approaching him, each punch of his packed with enough force to send a talon flying through the air, knocking it out. Batman asks Nostradamus "Are the conditions for your teleportation still not met?"

Annoyed by this statement, Nostradamus asks back "Is your plan to escape still a work in progress?"

This causes Batman to stare at Nostradamus, before saying "No. It seems that plan won't be working out."

No sooner had he said these words than another dozen talons appeared. This makes Nostradamus ask Batman "Hey, these guys are technically dead right?"

Batman replies "Yes, their brain activity is only limited to making sure the body is still operating as intended. But their consciousness is irrecoverable. They are morally and ethically dead."

"Good" Nostradamus replies, before he uses «cleave» to cut off the heads of every talkm present in the room. He then thinks 'I need to kill these guys, but having Batman here makes things a bit difficult. If he tells the justice league about this, my life isn't really going to be smooth sailing from now. I have to get him out of here while simultaneously killing everyone here and destroying this base completely, and make it look like these guys just vanished. That or I have to let them go… Wait, why do I need to kill them again? If I just cripple them to the point that they can't come after me, that should be enough, right?'

After he realises this, he tells Batman "Get out of this room. I'll make sure they can't follow us."

Batman quickly roundhouse kicks a talon, and then questions "You won't kill them will you?"

Nostradamus replies, while twisting a talon's throat "No. It'll just be a coma."

On hearing this, Batman thinks for a moment, before he says "You have one minute. Make sure they don't die."

Batman then runs out of the room, while Nostradamus tells the Court "Hey there you fucks. Before you guys go, I just want you to know something, you messed with the wrong secretary. «Domain expansion: Infinite Void»"
