1 Chapter 1: Friendship that knows no bounds

The air was chilly, leaves and bushes whistled just the way the wind did. The moon was up high and shine brightly over the shadows. If this was on any other night it would have been the most beautiful thing I had ever witnessed.

Yes but as you have noticed I used the word 'if' so you have to imagine that things are not so great at this point in time because I was petrified

looking at the serpent that towered over ten feet above me, looking at me with it's green hungry eyes, sticking it's forked tongue at me and hissing so loudly that the trees shook. With it's open mouth it lounged at me fangs barring.

Nothing in my system was responding except for my mouth. I screamed in terror.

"AHHHHH!" my eyes snapped open and I would have sworn that I flew out of my seat before gravity pulled me down and I plummeted to the floor. "Ow"

I heard laughter all around me.

"Mr. Coleman! Detention after school," I heard Mr. Wendell say from the front. I groaned as I lifted myself off the ground and I settled right back in my seat after which Mr. Wendell continued he's boring lesson on the literature of the Scandinavian which if you ask me seems like a waste of my time I mean what would learning about the Vikings and the Norse God's help me in life with.

"Same freaking nightmare?" Jordan asked as we walked through the hallway and headed towards our lockers which were conveniently right next to each other.

"Yes dude the same freaking nightmare except now it keeps feeling more real and it's also happening during the day," I said as I shoved my English text books into the locker and took out my algebra books.

"Would you look at that. Just got damn," Jordan cooed while watching a girl from second year bend over to pick up her books which flashed her red knickers for a brief moment but I was pretty sure Jordan had seen and saved the image in the back of his long term memory.

"Dude are you even listening to me," I said

"Listen man maybe there just some weird ass dreams," he said

"That I've been having for the past three years since I was eleven?" I said

"Yeah bro weird. In fact dreams are weird nobody understands them," his tone was matter of fact.

"I don't know man they felt so real you know what I'm saying," I closed my locker and we both started walking towards our next classes we talked for a while before reaching a divided corridor. One went left, the other went right.

"Well dude I'll see you at lunch," Jordan said before turning right heading to his chemistry class and I headed left towards my algebra.

No matter what I did, I couldn't bring myself to concentrate on the vast body of equations that our teacher Mr. Hoggs wrote on the board.

Why was I still having the same dream? Why was it getting more vivid feeling more real more life threatening?

Oh right sorry I should have introduced myself from the start shouldn't I. My name is Huey Coleman, I'm currently fourteen years old turning fifteen two months from now. I'm a high school student at Yolk town Academy here in a little town which I call York town. Now as you have already guessed, I'm a person who has a lot on there mind but what do you expect from someone who has been having the same nightmare ever since they were eleven? Anyway you already saw my dream in the first few sentences.

I was so distracted by my thoughts that I never noticed the exercise the Mr. Hoggs had wittten on the board. I opened my note book and before I could even write down question one, the bell rang signalling the end of this period and the beginning of lunch time.

"Shit," I murmured. I must have lost most of the time by trying to make sense of my dreams.

"Alright submit your work everyone," Mr. Hoggs said with a clap of his hands and a line of students was formed  as they placed their notebooks on Hoggs' desk and headed off to the cafeteria. I reluctantly left my seat and joined the line standing behind a girl with shoulder length blue black hair, she wore the school uniform which consisted of a blue sweater, white blouse and knee length blue glossy skirt though most of the girls had shorter skirts. The girl infront of me had a short skirt on but underneath it she wore a pair of black leggings. My eyes lingered onto her behind but she turned around.

"Hey eyes up hear pal," she said and I looked up at her face. She had a small nose, symmetrical face white some freckles on her cheeks as well of emerald green eyes which reminded me of the serpent that was haunting me in my dreams. I looked away and didn't dare make eye contact for fear of having the memory of that nightmare brought up to the surface of my mind. I thought she had something more to say but what ever it was she didn't say instead she shot me a glare and turned back around left her notebook in the desk and headed out, all the while my eyes were following her retreating figure.

"Ehem," Mr. Hogg's cleared his throat to get my attention.

"Oh right sorry," I said and placed my book down. After which of course I went down the hall took a few stairs up, turned left into another hallway and boom went through the double steel doors of the cafeteria.

Okay so the cafeteria is a large hall big enough to accommodate both the Juniors(those in year 1 & 4) as well as the seniors (those in year 3 & 4). So technically there's an imaginary boundary dividing the room into two hemispheres, the left for the Juniors and the right for the Seniors I hope you know where I'm going with this because I don't have the time or the liberty to explain any further than that. Moving on, the arrangements of the tables are identical on both sides. The cool kids which are the jockeys, the popular cheerleaders with her girlfriends of course and the insanely rich and spoiled brats—not that I hold anything against being rich but still—have their tables at the far end corner away from the boring line of a couple of nobodies like myself who have to get there food. The middle section has a roll of tables for the nerds after which come the geeks and weirdos like Jordan and myself then last but not least comes the tables for the goths and social outcasts (I'm not saying that I'm a social guy but you get the point).

So anyway I spotted Jordan at our usual table, he had already gotten my plate of food which had fries, a juice box, some lettuce and of course a plastic fork( not that I actually use it but hey)

"Wow thanks man," I said as I sat next to him. "You just saved me from waiting in line for thirty minutes" which was true because the line had gotten so long that if I happened to wait in line I bet I would have actually waited for thirty minutes.

"Its cool man," he grabbed a fry, dipped it in his sauce and tossed it in his mouth.

"Dude they had sauce and you didn't think to get some for me," I whispered harshly.

"Hey man how was I supposed to know you wanted some," he said coolly and chewed down on a fry dipped in sauce.

"Well can you at least share some of your sauce?" I asked with a sigh

"Oh hell nah"

"You bastard that's against the French fry regulations!" I know that was dumb.

"French regulations my ass pal"

"Ok now you're just being cruel," I said sounding like Ryan Bow during theater lessons with his bogus Italian accent which sounds very weird. Try imagining an elephant on the very of burping while swallowing a lantern. If your imagination is good then there you have it.

Jordan and I laughed like crazy. Billy Hill came and sat on our table.

"Am I the only one who thinks it's a little biased how you two always pick up each other's lunch and I have to stand in line," he said as he got comfortable. Billy Hill was the same age as me he has red hair that was wild brown eyes that  twinkled when he got excited and that was usually when one of us brought up a lewd topic. He was a smart kid, in class as well as in his dressing I mean if you looked at his wild hair you'd think it looked good no matter whether he combed it or not.

"Oh come on dude I only have like two hands. So unless I could grow an extra limb you're going to have to get used to it bro," Jordan replied.

"Wow dude," Billy said and I had to agree with him.

"Yeah dude wow," I said

"What? He asked and I answered with nothing but the truth," he stated.

"That's true but when you tell someone the truth it's like you're swinging a bowling ball right in that person's nuts," I stated.

"Oh come on dude," he replied

"Yeah man Huey's got you on that one," Billy pitched for me.

"Thank you," I said.

"Alright guys knock it off," Jordan almost screamed. "Hey Billy did you bring what I asked you?"

I looked left and right between Jordan and Billy.

"You guys better not be talking about drugs because the last time we tried them," I shuddered.

"Oh relax man it's just a little something to help take the stress off your mind," Jordan encouraged.

"Yeah that's what you said last time," I stated

"Oh yeah…but seriously though trust us on this one okay?" Jordan reassured me, I still had my doubts but I still nodded anyway.

"Alright! Show him what you got B," Jordan said. That's when Billy shuffled his hand in his backpack and took out the tenth volume of hentai girl manga which was the latest and wasn't due to come out until next week.

"Dude how the hell did you manage to get your hands on this?" I asked as I checked out the front page which consisted of images that would melt your fantasies to the ground (those who know know).

"Nigga I got it of this pirate website that has the best uncensored hentai content," Billy said as he retrieved an external hard drive.

"Shit man you've truly outdone your self this time," I nodded my head in appraisal.

"Well when Jordan told me you needed something to keep your mind off the nightmare stuff you been going through," Billy grinned as if he has won an award. "And you better not wrinkle the pages man" he warned darkly.

"Uh…yeah but just you know put it in my locker when no one is watching okay?" I requested.

"Don't worry brother. We got you," Jordan and Billy said in unison. I smiled at my friends, I was glad they were trying to support me but I doubt reading hentai mangas as well as watching hentai were going to clear my head.

We chilled mostly about some of the upcoming movies, animations as well as anime.

"Well I got to go guys," Billy rose from the table with his backpack huddled with the manga and hard drive inside. "I'll be sure to drop off the gist in your locker. Jordan and I watched silently as he walked out of the cafeteria.

"Well I better run too," Jordan said and I just nodded in agreement. There wasn't anything else to do in here after finishing our plates of food.

I sat at the bleachers and watched as birds flew by. The dream was still troubling me. It was probably nothing or was it me just trying hard to believe that?

A shadow loomed over me and I lifted my face to see the figure of Charlotte White who was also part of the cheerleader squad with an athletic flexible body, blue unbelievable eyes, flawless skin, flawless body, flawless beauty. In general let's just say that everything about her is flawless so having her stand before me was the biggest wonder to me.

"Hie," she said with a shy smile. Why would she be shy talking to me? No scratch that why would she be talking to me?

"Uh hey?" I say awkwardly. Is this really happening? Am I really talking to a hit chick?

"Are you alone?" she asked

"Yeah-yes I'm alone," I chuckled awkwardly.

"You want some company?"

"Uh sure go ahead," I fight to control the crazy emotions swirling around in me. She sits down next to me while straightening her skirt.

"I see you usually hang out here during lunch," she says after a brief time of silence. She had a point there. I usually eat by the bleachers at lunch for some reason.

"Yeah I guess I do don't I?" I reply. She nods. "I can't explain why but I get a sense of security"

"Security from what?" she asks.

"Teachers, mean bullies you know the usual," I say and we both laughed.

"Bullies?" she chuckled.

"Yeah believe it or not they rarely ever come here and if they do then I'm usually not here," I say and our shoulders touch. A strange warm sensation settles in my gut. We face other. Feels like we're in our own little bubble.

Holy crap! Is this a dream?

The bell goes and pushed us back to reality.

"I…uh guess we gotta go huh?" I say and stand up. She brought her hand up to me. I smiled and took it in mine. So soft and warm.

"Hey want to hang out after school?" she asks totally out of the blue.

"Yeah of course…wait I have detention," I say with a  pained expression.

"Don't worry guess we'll meet up here at five," she says like it's no big deal.

"Looking forward to it"
