Chapter-1

It all started with my silence. The silence that was with me for years; my true friend. My father had a government job and we had to move our house many times to adjust to his new offices. As a result, I had more TCs than in my entire academic years. People used to tell "you can't foresee the future; it is a mystery box waiting for you to unbox slowly, but for me, that was not the case. My future seemed to be like a programmed code that once executed will give you the desired output. It had only one exception. An unexpected error or bug in the code. In my case, the code my parents wrote was perfect. My relatives and even unknown neighbors helped, no! They participated in the compilation and debugging process. The code worked for years pretty well.

I reached my matriculation exam. I went for my exam calmly though that was my first time writing an exam outside school and that too an exam, that carries a myth with it; "Your future is in this result..." Every parent who passed this exam knows the truth- it's a lie, but still repeats the same lie to their kids. It seems to be like an unending saga. There are some exceptions among them; "the realistic parents". But when the whole world sings a song, your child won't listen to your poem, sadly. For me, I will choose the third option. I was not afraid and my parents byhearted the myth. The perfect blend of laziness and anxiousness. Though I use such dramatic expressions to detail the day, the truth is 'I was confident... I believed in myself..."
