Ch.11: Contract [5]

Azrael slammed the door to his room. He took off his clothes and quickly stood under the shower. The water was cold, yet the heat inside him wasn't subsiding. He breathed heavily and closed his eyes as he ran his hand through his face.

Then, he touched the wall and bowed his head, his face changed as he reminisced about what happened in the parking lot.

Throughout the drive back home, all he did was clench his fist to fight the urge to snatch the wheel from his servant, pull him closer, and make him ride him instead. He was so astounded by his own thoughts that he almost wanted to slam his head on the window and erase those lewd fantasies.

How come? That frail-looking and pale-faced beta wasn't his type! He was just frustrated. As it said, his member still stood straight and hard. He sighed exasperatedly. Even the cold shower wasn't helping him calm down.

Azrael glared at the bathroom door. The knocks were on his bedroom door, but he still heard them. He turned off the shower, took a towel, and wrapped it around his waist, then he stepped out. Fortunately, he finished taking care of his erection, or else he might do something again if he saw Knox's face when he was like that.

Still, he didn't want to see his face yet, so he just shouted from inside, "WHAT?"

The knocks stopped. Then, a different voice from his servant came out, "What the hell are you yelling for behind closed doors? Are you maybe in the middle of it? Man, did I get worried for nothing? I should just go back—

Azrael opened the door and cut his cousin's blabbering off, "What are you doing here?"

Kayden shrugged his shoulders and yawned. Then, he answered as he rubbed his gaunt eyes, "Knox called me. He told me about what happened to you so I rushed here. Mind you, I haven't had proper sleep for the past few days because some arrogant bastard kept running away from me, so let's get this over with."

However, Azrael just ignored the doctor and went past him, peeking in the living room. But the house was so quiet, unlike the little noises he used to hear in the kitchen or the living room after Knox lived with him.

His eyes moved to the door across him. Kayden understood Azrael's actions. His brows raised and he smirked. Then, he said, "If you're looking for him, I have him leave the house. He looked affected by your pheromones, but if his endurance gave out because you weren't giving him space to breathe then you'll just lose him."

Kayden shook his head. When he received the call from Knox, he could hear his panting through the phone. It was one of the reasons why he rushed to come. He thought something might have happened to him too.

After hearing information about Knox from the bodyguard Azrael ordered to investigate him, Kayden's heart went soft for the poor guy. So, when he came and saw Knox looked like he was going to throw up anytime, he asked him to take a day off without Azrael's permission.

Azrael pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed heavily, "Hah…"

Kyden frowned, and asked accusingly, "Did you do something to him?"

Azrael didn't answer. He went to the kitchen and drank a glass of water. Then, he reached for his phone and messaged one of his acquaintances – a female alpha. He looked up and gave Kayden an impatient look, "What are you standing there for? Get on with it."

Kayden just sighed and started checking him up, "God, you're a mess, dude. Your pheromones became like this only after walking in a crowded place? Did you feel this way when you visited the night district before?"

Azrael curtly replied, "No."

The doctor furrowed his brows, "Now, why? I bet the night district was more crowded than a mall, and the scents in those streets were more dangerous to you, so why did they not bother you? Do you know the reason?"

Azrael glared at his cousin and snarled, "The heck? Aren't you the doctor here? I should snatch that chart and start checking you up instead if you're just going to ask me useless questions."

Kayden's temple throbbed in annoyance. He inhaled deeply to calm himself, then he grimaced at Azrael as he responded, "Alright, seemed like your brain can't understand what I'm implying so I'll spell it to you one by one."

"What?"

Kayden ignored the sinister aura poking him. He cleared his throat and continued, "What I'm trying to say is, you're not agitated with those scents in passing if you yourself weren't agitated! This happened before, right? That time you fainted when you went jogging in the park nearby. You were easily affected by that omega's bloom because your sexual desires were stirred up! You said you ran back then because someone male alpha touched you and you were flabbergasted that your willy awakened from that disgusting touch, per your words."

Clack.

Kayden and Azrael simultaneously looked at the door and were surprised after seeing Knox standing by the entrance gaping at them. With that look, it was obvious he heard that last part. Was he that surprised to hear that male alphas can do it too? It's uncommon, yes, but there are cases where alphas found true love with the same gender and sub-gender they have.

Kayden blinked first. Then, he faked a cough and asked Knox worriedly, "Why did you come back? I told you to stay away in the meantime, didn't I?"

Knox nodded his head awkwardly and answered, "Y-yes…but I forgot something in my room. So, I came back to take it. I assumed you'd be doing the treatment inside his room, so…"

"And what kind of 'treatment' are you thinking of?"

Knox avoided Azrael's sharp gaze. Kayden's jaw hung open after realizing what they meant. He looked at Knox with disbelief and scrunched his face disgustingly, then he yelled, "It's not what you're thinking, Knox!"

Knox just shrugged his shoulders and covered his nose, "I'm not thinking anything, sir. Anyway, I'll quickly leave after I get what I need."

Without waiting for their answers, Knox ran to his room and opened the drawer where he kept a blue pouch that contained all his medication. He won't be coming home in that place for a while, so he was thinking of crashing in Franz's place until he could go back.

Moreover, he was considering quitting. Not because of the kiss since when he signed the contract, he already prepared himself to do it, even when his boss said that he wouldn't do it, he only felt relieved for a moment, but he still couldn't bring himself to believe him.

He suddenly decided to quit after hearing what the doctor said.

'That time you fainted when you went jogging in the park nearby. You were easily affected by that omega's bloom because your sexual desires were stirred up!'

Those sentences rang in Knox's head over and over. His boss fainted when jogging in the park nearby? Omega's bloom? Knox recalled what happened at the park before. And that park was also near that apartment building.

He bit his lower lip as he tried to remember the man's face. Then, like lightning flashing in the dark sky lighting up the land beneath, Knox had muddled brain cleared and Azrael's flushed face, closed eyes while heavily panting, and sweating forehead came to him.

Knox cupped his mouth as he murmured, "Shit."
