1 01. The day she changed

Headache. So much pain...

Loud voices could be heard around her. ''Poor girl. Jumped to save the child but died herself.''

Who died?

The eyelashes quivered and she slowly opened her eyes. People in weird clothes gathered around her and stared at her with confusion and sympathy.

''Who are you all?'' Her voice was raspy but at the same time young.

One woman came closer and shook her head. ''This time she is done for. They will not forgive her for such behaviour. Poor child.'' She just shook her head and stepped away from her like she had some kind of bad karma on her.

''Where am I?'' She tried to prop herself but felt completely weak.

No matter how she asked, they just shook their heads, pointed at her and whispered.

What is going on here? Why is no one helping her?

She tried to prop up and suddenly she felt pain again. Excruciating pain. So big that she just fainted.

As darkness enveloped her being, a small spark of light came to her. ''Auntie, I am sorry. This lifetime I want to forget completely. Auntie, my family is waiting, you can have this body now. Sorry for the future trouble.''

The spark of light suddenly started flying away and disappeared. Shu Ya tried to understand her situation.

Let's think about this absurdity. Where am I?

The last thing she remembered is that she rushed over the street and then heard screeching of tires.

Dead? How convenient.

Just a few days before that she found out her fiance took a loan on her name as he stole her stamp and those gangsters were following her whole times so she would pay it back. Ridiculous. Her whole life was ridiculous.

Parents married other partners and just dumped her by an old uncle that was a heavy drinker. Her youth she spends mostly in hospital as he would beat her up most of the time when he got drunk.

She begged both parents to take her away but they never did.

On her tenth birthday, he died from liver cirrhosis and she was again alone. This time she was luckier.

One of her teachers had no children and choose to adopt her. But when she was about to enter her college she met a man and had a problem as he had no idea she had a child.

Shu Ya offered to live alone as she was truly grateful to her as she raised her well. After they got married they had a child and Shu Ya completely was forgotten. But she was fine with that.

Her parents forgot her so she was already used to it.

A few months ago she met this man that gave her a feeling of happiness and comfort. But after finding out he was a conman that used women and took loans on their names, she was completely broken.

The worst thing was he took a loan from some devious people that planned to sell her if she couldn't come up with the money. She felt despair. As she was trying to run away from them, a truck hit her and now she is here.

Ridiculous. Her life was ridiculous and as it seems this life will be ridiculous as well.

But this time, she will fight back...

She opened her eyes and they suddenly became cold. The world is not an oyster and I am not a damn clam.

''Here she is!'' Words were heard and she saw an old man rushing towards her with an angry expression. ''You damnable child. You did it again. Didn't we forbid you to go out and now you lost our Kang's family whole face.''

With his wrinkled finger, he pointed at her face and cursed her out. Shu Ya blinked at him and snorted.

''Kang family? I see...'' She slowly rose from the ground and realized how short she was.

Remembering the young voice it seems she was a child. And not one that had a good life.

The clothes she wore were patched on so many places that couldn't be even called clothes anymore. Not even a rag had so many patches. She looked at him then at her own clothes and chuckled.

''Grandfather...'' She just assumed he was her grandfather but was not sure as she had absolutely no information about these people. ''... your Kang's family treats me less then servant. Do you even HAVE face to be proud of? What did I od so bad to be treated like this? What was my wrong? Please tell me. Just this time be truthful and I might accept my life. Tell me, what did I do wrong?''

She started sobbing making everyone heavyhearted as they saw a small child hitting her own chest in despair.

He started shaking hearing her words. ''Good, good! I will tell you! It about time I tell you.'' His face became cold as ice as he looked at her. ''Yes, you are a firstborn child from the main wife. But your mother committed murder. She killed a child in the womb of your father's concubine and as we had no wish to make it big he just divorced her. He married his concubine as the main wife and you became no one. No mother, no background, nothing.''

Shy Ya looked at him while tears flew down her cheeks in streams. ''I am still your firstborn child. Why are you treating me like this, why?''

''Your maternal family lost Emperor's favour and were sent to another side of the country to live as commoners. A noble family as ours to have such a child as our firstborn, we are not willing. I will go back home now and finally cut all ties with you. After your mother hung herself I was rethinking about you being so young so I left you in our house at least as a servant, but now I do not wish you to be even close to us. From now on you don't belong to our family. Listen to all of you, I want to invite you to my house and cut all ties to this child. Please be my witnesses.'' He boldly invited the whole village.

Shu Ya laughed loudly inside. ''But Grandfather. You can't do that without official. You... I am still your blood. You and family have to provide for me...''

''Good! I will call his Honor the Lord Ka to come here. He will sign all the papers and we can get rid of you. Finally!'' His words reverberated through the silence that came upon villagers.

Shu Ya could sense a strange atmosphere and chuckle inside but on outside she just slumped down and shook while crying. ''Lies... lies... It is impossible.''
