Bringer of Retribution

All Daniel knew in his life was ridicule. As the bastard son of Satan and a human, he was not allowed to reveal his origins to any other being in Hell throughout his life. Now, he starts his high school career, and with the news of his father quitting his job as the demon lord of hell, Danny needs to decide what he will do: Will he support his half-brother in his ambition to become the next king of devils, or will he make his moves to take revenge against those who hurt him? All these thoughts go through his mind as he awakens new powers that relate to broken oaths and the true origins of the world. Did God create reality? Are the angels truly creatures of virtue? Why was Hell created? These questions and more are answered as he learns the world's mysteries and fights to protect his friends.

Vampire Monkeys

It was the first day of the second week of the school year.

Last night, Danny requested his maid Sara to prepare rooms for the two Fays who will be staying in his house.

Now, he was exhausted and on his way along with Chaos to school.

Before heading out, he made sure he could use magic and was very happy that there weren't any apparent issues.

"So I didn't ask yet, but who are the kids?"

Chaos asked with what Danny could only guess was a curious expression.

It's hard to make out expressions when the face is covered with chaotic energy.

"Princess Willow Foraoise and Alberich. Two Fay I picked up in Faerie."

Danny answered as they walked.

"And why were you in Faerie?"

Chaos was confused.

He knew Danny wasn't home for the past two days but didn't know where he was.

"Adrammelech Baal."

Danny answered with an expression that showed he didn't want to talk about it.

"Well. Did you gain anything from this trip aside from two kids?"

Chaos asked.

There was no way Danny went to another realm, and his only benefit was more companions.

"I learned an application of the theory of magical energy."

Danny said nonchalantly.

"What type of application?"

Chaos asked with a surprised tone.

"If you can feel the movement of magical energy while using a spell, you can replicate that movement and cast the spell without actually wording it. I think if I develop it further, I could learn how different movements of magic can change a spell and be able to create new spells without words."

Danny said with a sparkle in his eyes.

This topic always interested him because if he could develop it even further, he would be able to draw magical energy from the air around him and silent-cast original spells on the go.

He would be limitless.

But controlling magic in the air was way harder than his magic, and he needed to find a way to strengthen his control.

However, after what happened in Faerie, he wanted to test using his magic control with silent casting against multiple opponents.

He could use it to draw two unsuspecting kids, but how well would it go against enemies?

Just as his thoughts reached there, they arrived at the school, and he saw two people who could help his experiment.

A certain Oni demon he had beaten before and a Baal demoness whom he resented deeply...

********

Momotaro side glanced at his female classmate as they were both about to enter the building together.

There wasn't any ulterior motive in that. He was just surprised.

Usually, Ishtar Baal arrived at school much earlier than he did since the Baal Clan's area in the city was closer.

He thought of saying hello when a voice from behind made them both stop.

"Ishtar! Momotaro! I challenge you to a fight."

Danny's voice was heard loudly, and they both turned around with confused faces.

"Why should I-"

Momotaro wanted to object, but another party joined in the conversation.

"Can I also join?"

It was Hans Voltgoat.

He was still bitter, and after training hard over the weekend, he wanted to test his might against Danny's once more.

Momotaro sighed deeply and looked at Ishtar in the hopes she would reject Danny's proposal.

"Okay. We've talked before, but you never asked for a fight, so I'm curious."

The demoness said.

The bell rang, but they chose to ignore it and headed to the dojo by the side of the sports field.

As they entered the dojo, they noticed there was a teacher inside with a class of third-year students.

"How dare you interfere?! What do you want?!"

The teacher shouted angrily.

Momotaro thought of a diplomatic answer, but Danny opened his mouth before the Oni heir could think of anything.

"We thought our dear seniors should watch a fight because it might help them with their studies."

Danny said and intentionally angered the teacher and students.

The teacher, as Danny seemed to have expected, smirked with a vindictive look and opened his mouth.

"Can I have two or three of my students join your little practice?"

He requested that in the hopes that they would humiliate these bratty first-years by easily beating them in a fight.

And if these kids would refuse, then he could just send them back to class.

"Of course. Choose whomever you want. Just remember, Momotaro is the only one allowed to use physical attacks in this practice."

Danny said with a smile that drove the teacher crazy.

Who does this brat think he is?!

"Ata, At, and Atem! Show these brats their place!"

The teacher shouted, and three students stepped forward.

"So what are the rules?"

At, a girl with black hair with blue strands going through it and green eyes asked.

She was eating gum and looked very disinterested.

"I wasn't planning on this many people..."

Danny said as he pondered what he should do.

"Me and the asshole, against everyone else."

Ishtar said and surprised Danny.

"Are you planning to backstab me?!"

He asked her distrustfully.

"I would never do something so honorless! Unlike some other people I know..."

She argued.

"What was that?!"

Danny asked angrily.

He would have fought her right there and then but decided that he should go along with her suggestion.

They both went to one side of the matt and left the other five on the other side.

They looked at each other, waiting to see what the other group would do.

The teacher looked impatiently at the students standing at ready and decided to cut the crap.

"Begin already!"

He shouted, and as if on cue, the fight began.

Momotaoro was the fastest of the bunch.

In a mere instant, he appeared in front of Danny with his arm ready for a punch.

Danny could sense the magic flowing in his opponent's veins into his muscles, but no matter how much he tried to take control of it, he couldn't concentrate in a situation like this.

"Ishtar!"

Danny shouted for help.

"Fayinz Mujaead!"

The Baal demoness chanted, and a vine sprouted from her hand into Momotaro's side and pushed him away.

"Seeing you all helpless like this is great! Thanks for inviting me!"

The girl was cheerful.

"Kadur Esh!"

At and Ata chanted together and spawned a fireball that they shot toward the purple-eyed brat who disrespected their class.

Danny looked at it, and a smirk appeared on his face.

Unlike Momotaro's enhancement magic, this spell was one he was very familiar with taking control of.

The flowing sphere of flames stopped millimeters from his face and lightened his mad expression in such a way that the students not participating in the fight felt fear.

Danny wanted to try changing the movement of magic in the fireball into that of a water ball spell.

This should be possible, but as he tried to do that, he messed something up and took too long to fix his mistake.

The placement of the magic was already settled, and the spell turned into a burst of wind magic that pushed everyone backward.

The teacher looked at Danny's moves and remembered Hephaestus and Hades praising a certain student of theirs.

A low-level demon, a prodigy with a magic control level that might be able to rival that of demon lord Satan.

The smartest low-level demon, Daniel.

"Hóu Yǔ!"

Atem, a student whom Danny recognized before but didn't give much notice to, chanted.

He was the top student in his class and an irrefutably scary summoner.

After he chanted his spell, a portal-like fracture in space appeared on the roof of the dojo, and vampire monkeys spilled out of it.

With a quick glance from Danny, the portal closed down. This showed Danny something else he was suspicious of.

After being possessed by this "God of Magic," his magic control had increased.

In the past, not even with a chant would he be able to close a summoner's space fracture this quickly. And it wasn't only space fractures, but every spell he tried to control was easier than in the past.

But what could he do about the monkeys?!

These vampire monkeys are monsters created by witches through magic, but they themselves don't have any in their system.

They had less magic than the average human.

The only thing different about them from other monkeys was that they were each the size of a macaque and had the strength of a gorilla.

They were also extremely hostile and sucked on blood for food.

The monkeys were released into the dojo, and Atem quickly lost control of the situation.

He could control a few, but these many were a problem.

The brown-haired demon with blue antler horns and pink eyes had a very worried expression.

Danny sighed deeply and looked at Hans Voltgoat.

"Spam your lightning spears in my direction!"

He said, and Hans complied.

In a short time, Danny had dozens of lightning spears resting in the air by his side, ready to heed his command.

He breathed heavily. He didn't think controlling these many spears would be this hard. But it made sense, considering each spear was a medium or high-level spell.

He looked at the monkeys, and each primate received a lightning bolt.

Because these were small, not magical beasts, these lightning bolts were more than enough to slay them with a single hit.

After all the monkeys were slain, Danny bowed to the teacher and took his three training mates out.

"Thank you for the help. You helped me work out my limitations quite well and were very useful. The next time we fight, I'll be even stronger."

Danny cheerfully said and headed to his class.

Ishtar was still curious about how good he really was.

She never had the opportunity to fight him.

Hans felt that he should join Danny's group.

If he were to stay by Danny's side, he might be able to learn some tricks that would further his goal of becoming the strongest low-level demon.

At first, Momotaro was slightly worried about Danny's condition because he had heard that his purple-eyed rival collapsed after their fight.

Now, he knew everything was fine. Even worse, Danny was still getting stronger...

He needed to find a way to recruit Danny, or maybe he should join him...
