Bringer of Retribution

All Daniel knew in his life was ridicule. As the bastard son of Satan and a human, he was not allowed to reveal his origins to any other being in Hell throughout his life. Now, he starts his high school career, and with the news of his father quitting his job as the demon lord of hell, Danny needs to decide what he will do: Will he support his half-brother in his ambition to become the next king of devils, or will he make his moves to take revenge against those who hurt him? All these thoughts go through his mind as he awakens new powers that relate to broken oaths and the true origins of the world. Did God create reality? Are the angels truly creatures of virtue? Why was Hell created? These questions and more are answered as he learns the world's mysteries and fights to protect his friends.

The Last Supper

"What are you doing here!"

Mira exclaimed in surprise.

Danny looked at her, trying to remember who she was.

Was she one of the servants those rich kids kept around?

Wait... that red hair... Mira?!

"Please don't tell anyone about it!"

The red-haired demoness in maid uniform begged.

"Are you Mira?"

He wanted to make sure.

He wasn't the greatest at remembering the faces of people he had only met, and she looked completely different...

"I'm Mira, servant to the house of Adrammelech Baal. And I beseech you, Daniel, to not reveal my servitude to our classmates. I'll let you use me however you want."

She kept begging, and Danny was confused.

The Mira he talked to earlier this day was somewhat different, and she mentioned letting him do whatever he wants... Was she this desperate?!

"It's fine. I have no use in telling this to anyone. Not that anyone would believe me..."

Danny said with a sarcastic tone that made it clear he didn't mean any harm.

"All right..."

There was hesitation in her voice.

"Why are you here?"

He asked her.

She turned around and pointed at one of the mansions to Danny's left. Her expression seemed to be full of mixed feelings.

"I live in that house over there. Why are you here?"

She asked him, and he needed to think for a moment before replying.

She was happy. It seemed like she could trust him, and she forgot her situation.

"I needed to come here to talk to my shit pile of a father."

Danny said, and his anger was apparent.

This answer confused Mira because she remembered he went with Marcuse to meet the demon lord, but she shrugged it off to him seeing his father afterward.

"By the way, why are you wearing a maid outfit?"

He asked, and she remembered what she was wearing.

Her face turned red, and she took a sharp breath before answering.

"Actually... Even though I'm a high-level demon, I'm a half-demon and half-vampire hybrid."

Mira said, and Danny was very surprised.

It was very rare to see a high-level half-blooded demon.

"My mother was a member of the Baal Clan, and both my parents died when I was still a baby. So lord Adrammelech Baal took me in and raised me as his maid."

Mira finished her explanation.

"Well, have a nice rest of your night."

Danny said and started going away.

He had his own issues, and shoving his nose in someone else's business was something he preferred not to do.

"Wait!"

She called to him while grabbing his arm.

"...?"

He had no clue what to say.

"You seem hungry. Why won't you come and have dinner with my family?"

Mira said.

"I'm not hungry."

Danny said.

Brrrr!

His stomach growled at him for lying, and his face reddened.

"Fine, maybe for a little bit."

He corrected his answer, and Mira smiled happily.

They entered the large mansion.

It had a high ceiling, and the walls were covered in decorations.

Black smoke covered the floor, and Danny could feel a presence approaching him.

"What took you so long to come back?"

A rippling voice reverberated through the room, and Danny could see the smoke in front of them start conjuring into a person.

"I just saw a friend from school and invited him for dinner. Is that okay?"

Mira answered innocently.

The elderly demon emerged from the smoke. He was an old demon with a body covered in cloth of pure darkness that emitted the smoke and the head of a mule.

"HIM?! Who is that boy!"

Another demon, the master of the mansion's wife, questioned Mira while analyzing Danny with her eyes.

"Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Daniel. You can call me Danny."

He put his hand forward.

The mansion's master was taken aback.

Danny thought it was because he was a low-level demon but spoke to a high-level elder informally, but the elder's response proved his hypothesis wrong.

"Why is Lucifer's bastard in my house?!"

The Baal Clan's elder asked angrily.

Danny could feel the old demon's killing intent piercing him.

"Wait, you are Marcuse's half-brother?!"

Mira asked Danny with surprise, but he had no time to answer. This high-level demon could easily kill him if he didn't say something now.

"I don't know what your relationship with my father is, but I can promise you, my relationship with him is not better than yours."

He said, and it seemed to work.

The elderly demon's face softened, and he even cracked a bit of a smile.

"Mira! Good job on being friends with that one. You know I despise Lucifer, and you brought me his son, who hates him too. Oh, and Danny, how is Leia doing?"

The mansion's master, Adrammelech Baal, happily congratulated his stepdaughter.

"My mother is somewhat okay, but how do you know her?"

Danny was surprised by the elder's question.

"I was a friend of your father back when he met her. After he abandoned her with a child, I got angry at him and stopped talking with him, except for when we have official business."

Adrammelech explained.

They all sat around the table and ate in peace.

********

"You sure you don't want to stay?"

Mira asked Danny.

It was already a very late hour, and it was not safe to go outside.

"Thanks for the invitation, but I need to come back to my house. Thanks for the meal."

Danny thanked his red-haired classmate and went on his way.

He returned to walking in the direction of his house. He was still in the Baal Clan's territory and had a long way left to go.

"Hey, kid! Give me some money!"

Some random guy approached him with a dark-metal knife.

Dark-metal is the rarest, most precious, and most useful metal in all known realms.

It has excellent durability, and depending on the way it is forged, it can have either nearly perfect hardness or almost perfect flexibility. On rare occasions, a few of the greatest smiths could even make a dark-metal tool that has nearly perfect flexibility and almost perfect hardness.

Mr. Hephaestus's main goal was to create such a perfect tool since he was from a bloodline of renowned blacksmiths from the Greek Clan.

"I would rather not."

Danny answered.

"This was not a request."

The guy said.

"You know what? Use your best spell on me. If I lose, you can take my money, and if you lose, then... You will see."

Danny wore a confident smile, and his eyes glowed with a purple light.

Before even saying he agreed to Danny's deal. The guy put his hand forward.

"Ason Gadol!"

A massive stream of magma conjured in front of the assailant's hand, and he shot it with high pressure at the white-haired boy.

"Melech Anozlim."

Danny chanted, and the stream of boiling magma turned on its user.

This spell he used was a specialized spell for manipulating magic that had to do with liquids.

The demon holding the knife died instantly, and Danny was surprised.

He didn't do anything to enhance the spell this time. This meant it really was a powerful spell.

Danny approached the remnants of his foe and took the knife.

Even if it weren't the highest quality dark-metal, it was still a useful weapon he should keep.

Danny resumed his walk back home. Without further interference, he reached his house three hours later.
