Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

SOMETHING NEW

I came back from a Monster Hunter mission and sensed Alex was still at the bottom of the pool.

I had spent six hours away and he probably might have spent the whole time without resurfacing, or maybe, he just went back when I came back.

I dove down below to see him sitting on the floor with his legs crossed and his eyes closed.

I tilted my head and called him, but he didn't respond, so I tapped his shoulder then he gasped and blasted me above the top of the mansion, crashing into the observatory.

I winced in pain then started healing myself and he appeared beside me and apologized, I knew he meant it as his thoughts and emotions were purer and easier to read now.

He heard me in a fraction of a second then asked why I ' bothered ' him.

I dropped my jaw then frowned and asked,"Why were you going namaste underwater?"

He looked down then said,"I was remembering."

"What?"I asked.

"Those memories I get, come only when I touch water which has experienced those events and wish to remember them and they don't only bring memories I experienced, I saw the meteorite."He said.

"What meteorite?"I asked.

"The one which gave us our lights..."He said.

Catherine was going for a walk with her parents and siblings around the city when she sensed a familiar face, then vanished.

Curtis rolled his eyes and brought out his check book ready to pay for the damage to be caused.

She appeared in the middle of the street then yelled,"One! Two!"

Everyone who was from that vicinity screamed and began to scatter, those who were just passing through found wisdom from the locals and ran, hid and drove for their lives.

Catherine then concluded,"Ten! Ready or not, here I come!"

At that moment, a huge ball of ice about the size of a soccer ball crashed through the roof of someone's car, then hail stones started falling all around and people screaming.

Then, a massive wave of water washed through the streets, taking the cars left on the street and building a dam out of them.

She then raised her hands and let out a scream which shook and even cracked the walls and floors of the place and threw the trees backwards.

A child was thrown onto the street and tried to run away but Catherine grinned.

The girl didn't get far when Catherine appeared in front of her and made her stumble.

She changed direction and continued running but Catherine appeared in front of, behind her and to all her sides, at once.

Catherine then raised her hand and a ball of golden fire appeared as she said,"Gotcha..."

"Leave her alone!"

Catherine had already sensed the person behind her but didn't expect him to have the guts to challenge her, well, maybe she was wrong...good.

She turned to the boy then smiled at him and realized he didn't look flustered or look away, that was weird, looking just like her father she turned a lot of heads.

She then looked at him up and down, he wasn't actually...ugly, like most of the people she'd scared.

He was about two or three years older than her and had a perfectly constructed jawline and angelic facial features.

He was actually, really cute.

His body was actually quite muscular for his age and his eyes, she had never seen any like them before, they looked like pure gold, like the fire in her hand, she was confused till he began speaking.

"You and your whole family have been posing as supermodels for us to worship you meanwhile in the dark, you hurt people everyday with your lights, you disgust me and each of you deserves to go back to h*ll! Especially you!"He yelled.

Catherine was furious then threw a ball of fire at him which expanded and grew in power as it advanced, turning green and then blue green as it closed the distance but then it spun in a vortex and spread around him, with him unscaled.

She then threw three stars of ice IV in the shapes of different snowflakes that spun and cut through everything they touched but he just stretched his arm and one went out of Catherine's own control then rammed the other two and they flew back to her.

She did a back handspring to dodge them as they sliced through the ground and disappeared then shot up from their sub terrainean dwelling at her.

She blasted lightning which ionized them into super ionic hot ice and advanced towards him but the lightning just vanished and she screamed and struggled as someone held her and bit him very hard, to the extent she tasted blood, then she saw her father's tender gaze and looked around at all the damage she had caused then at the boy's expression of disgust, then burst into tears on her father's chest as his wound healed and he hugged and kissed her lovingly.

The boy then yelled,"So it's you who has been pampering her and turning her into this beast?! You disgust me and I hate all that you stand for!"

Curtis just ignored him and vanished with his daughter but before he did, Catherine got a chance to read the boy's mind, his only readable thoughts were,"Stay out of my mind you amateur witch."

Anneliese was in the kitchen when she sensed me get blasted out of the pool and onto the highest floor by Alex.

She screamed then ran up there only to see him having a conversation with me, with me totally healed.

She then made a rock slide at him but he vanished and I called her name for her to stop but she didn't as she melted the floor and blasted lava at Alex who was trying to explain.

He froze it instantly with supercooled water then used ice X to freeze half her body.

She tried to resist till I kissed her on the lips and the ice slowly melted then she calmed down then I told her,"Alex has something important to tell us, all of us..."

"The meteorite isn't made up of anything from our solar system, or galaxy. It was made up of the unnamed elements of atomic numbers one hundred and sixteen, two hundred and eighty three, three hundred and eleven, four hundred and twelve and four hundred and fifty one. These were the elements responsible for creating the five tribes of lights and there was one more thing, the core was made up of an alloy, something I've never sensed in my entire range of water vision and it's still there, pulsating with energy...I think it's a beacon."

We were all looking at him, confused, till my mom asked,"A beacon for what?"

"I don't know mother, but whatever it is, it must be really powerful."He said, with a hint of fear in his voice, that was scary.
