70 Fortunate

Lloyd returned to Hermione's side at once. She was gazing at the balloon which was currently enveloped in a raging fire. They were thrashing back to the ground pretty fast.

The envelope that was pumped and, keeping them floating was deflating drastically.

Lloyd took a quick glance at the ground.

There were trees. If they succeeded in jumping now, they could have less injury than landing on the floor immediately.

Moreover, there wasn't a guarantee that the balloon would land in that particular spot. It was taking the wind's course and they could land anywhere.

"We have to jump" He alerted Hermione.

She didn't turn to look at him. She was terrified of the raging fire yet she stood still gazing at it like it was calling out to her when it wasn't. Any moment from now, the fire could land on them and destroy them both.
