'Smack!'

A strong punch to the face. Tai Zhong was looking at his protege in disgust.

"What were you trained for?"

Another hit, square to his jaw. Blood sprawled on the floor, and the already weak Wang Tai could feel the blood all over his face.

"It doesn't matter what the reason was. It doesn't matter if they blackmailed you with some evidence."

Tai grabbed his neck and continued,

"It didn't matter if they threatened you with a loved one. Parents, Lover, whoever it might be. If you couldn't see that your country comes first, then what the hell were you trained for?"

His grip tightened. His knuckles were swollen, but he couldn't care less.

Alex stepped in and said,

"We need him for the location. I can understand your anger, but you have to release him."

"He is a traitor to me, to my country! If I don't kill him now, I would have failed myself!"

"Don't let your anger blind you. If you kill him now, we lose an important lead. If your duty precedes your emotions, then release him."

Alex politely said. If he still didn't listen, He would have to discipline him by force.

Tai Zhong looked back at the kid. He let go of Wang Tao's neck and said,

"What about him? Does he know anything?"

They looked back at the man named Li. He was no longer conscious.

"He was forced to do all of that. Being a recruit, he had no choice."

Tai stood up and said,

"No choice, huh?"

He walked towards Li.

"I have no choice either."

'Bang!'

He took out a pistol from his vest and shot the bullet straight at his head.

He walked towards the door. When he was about to leave, he looked back at Alex and said,

"Leave him alive. I want to kill that traitor myself."

"Roger."

He left and closed the door.

Alex took out a phone and asked,

"Your precautions were top notch. People haven't been able to track the person you were in contact with."

The Subject was struggling to breathe. Alex helped him up and corrected his posture to aid in respiration.

"This doesn't have to be more painful. Whoever you are trying to protect is already dead."

Wang Tao didn't have any reason to take a bribe. His accounts were clean, his record was clear, and his life was mediocre.

"I...I..."

He tried to speak.

"I...was...trying..."

"Yes?"

"To...protect...myself."

Wang Tao sincerely said.

"Hmm."

Alex looked at him and sighed. He wasn't lying.

"Were you being blackmailed?"

"Y...es."

He coughed blood after saying that.

"Who was it?"

The main question. Wang Tao widened his eyes and said,

"I...can't...say..."

Alex pinched a nerve on his neck.

"Speak."

He started to feel unbearable pain all over his body. It was as if someone was slowly clawing through every part of his skin, and the claw had needles all over it.

The jolt from the pain forced that word out of him. After that, he fell unconscious.

He walked out of the interrogation room, and everyone was staring at him.

"Does the name Luo ring any bell?"

Alex raised his voice and asked.

"Luo?"

Tai Zhong started to jog through his memory.

Luo Group of Industries. A large-scale local corporation that was famous for buying out companies and using them for revenue. They had kept themselves afloat by acquiring various profitable companies and transforming them into cash cows. Milking these companies to the ground, the corporation then moves on to the next big company and repeats the process.

They had good relations with the Chinese government. In many cases, the government had helped them acquire upcoming companies. Why would Wang Tao call them out?

"It doesn't have to be the company. It could be a family of rebels or a single person."

Tai Zhong said.

"So there is a company?"

"Yes."

Alex walked towards a system and opened up a database. He typed in the name, and a long list appeared. The Luo Group was on the top, so he clicked on it.

There was a lot of information on the group. Alex started to go through all of it and said.

"We have a lead. Ask everyone to go through all of it. If we find nothing, we move on to the next lead."

"I will go and talk to the general once again. He must be waiting for a proposal. I need to inform him of the situation as soon as possible."

Tai Zhong did what Alex said. After giving his people the appropriate directions, he walked out of the office.

Their work was just getting started.
