1 WHAT HE WANTS

Harper's POV

"I want every one to shut their eyes as soon as he enters the house... If any of you by mistake take a look at my handsome, you will find your eyes dancing to the music of your pain on the floor. And you Joan, I want you to make sure everything is well arranged for his welcome. He must not see your face, make sure you also put on a mask okay?" Aunt, Alpha Virginia said authoritatively and her maids bobbed their head in comprehension.

Who is Alpha Virginia?

Alpha Virginia Reynold of the Redflame pack is a very powerful female Alpha who associated with other kind of supernatural creatures. She is not just powerful but also very beautiful but today, she is looking her best in her red dress. Normally, we wear only red and white dresses, this is a rule and this is one of the reasons we don't entertain outsiders. Her Amazonian figure sat in a proper position on her stem thin body. She has a curvilinear waist and her complexion had an impeccable, ochrous tinge. Her pencil-thin eyebrows eased down gently to her black beetle's leg eyelashes. A sculptor could not have fashion her seraph's ear and elegant nose any better. That is how beautiful my aunt is.

When her mouth is slightly opened, her beguiling, conch white teeth will glimmer brightly like the edge of a sharp sword hitting the sunlight. Filed to perfection, her film star finger nails ran through her Kohl - black hair. Spools of it plunged around her photogenic face and hid a swan's neck, elegant and smooth. When she blinked her scale blue eyes sparkled with 'joie de vivre.'

Her ox bow calamine pink lips positively drooled with goodness. Her voguish dress still kept captive an aroma redolent of cinnamon and meadow fresh mint.

She became the ruler of our pack, Redflame pack after the death of her parents and mine. There are only ladies in our pack-house. No men are allowed in to the house and no lady is allowed to leave our pack without being masked... This is to protect our ladies from deceptive men and to keep their purity intact. Our purity is one of the things that we hold high as it is part of us and without it we are lifeless. No man out of the pack is as powerful as any of our ladies because of the kind of energy that surges through us all. Our methods are different from every other pack and this makes us the best and the most feared pack in the neighborhood.

But there is this man, he is just beautifully slight and high bosomed who caught Virginia's attention. She has fallen in love with in love with him the first day we saw him in a garden and she has invited him to the pack-house. She doesn't want any of the maid to look at him because she is already jealous. If not that I am so close to her, she will not have allowed me as well.

Oops! It actually skipped my mind... I forgot to introduce myself. Yes, I am very loquacious... I talk too much. Awwn! Well, I am Harper Reynold... Alpha Virginia's favorite. I am her niece and her only relative, she is just like a mother to me, she took care of me since I was young , she loves me dearly. The beauty of my aunt today has just made me absent minded.

I let out a frustrated sigh and moved to her. "Aunt, you really need to calm down... Let's go into hall, he will arrive soon." Virginia doesn't want to go inside despite how rainy it is, she stood at the terrace looking out for him. The maids have dispersed, now it is I and her. She is very impatient and she has started to hurt herself with the glass of the rails she clung on to.

"I won't go inside until her arrives." She insisted, clinging to the breach line as I pulled her.

"Greetings to the great Alpha... Alpha Carl is here." We heard from behind and without asking any questions, Virginia sped out of the terrace leaving me behind. Finally, the person whom she has been waiting for for several days is here... She has not been sleeping well after she has seen him in the garden and now that he is here I hope everything will change. I walked in to the hall.

Alpha Carl is the ruler of the Moonstone pack. He is a successful business man in the town according to what he told us the first day we met him and indubitably, he is very handsome. If someone tells me that Virginia is going to fall in love with some one like Alpha Carl, I was definitely going to argue it. Not that he has a bad character, but many men have proposed to Virginia severally but she never gave any of them a chance to speak. Truly, none of those men matched with her status... They aren't as powerful as her, nor are they as wealthy as her.

Carl is the only man who has caught my aunt's attention in the town and I am glad she found someone. Every maids around the hall and corridors have put on masks and lowered their gazes. This is Virginia's order and no one dares to go against it.

"How are you Virginia? What's going on with you?" Carl pulled her cheek and pulled her into his arms again. This is what she wants and she is getting it. What can be more lovely than this moment for her?

"Carl, how do you do? We have been expecting you, I am Harper." I shook hands with Carl and be pulled me into his embrace. His body was warm and the scent that is emanating from his body is so fragrant and attractive.

"Yes! This is Harper... She is my niece, my supporter and my life sustainer. She is my best and she will always be. She is very lively, you will like her." Virginia introduced me to Carl but I can only smile. Virginia really loves me and I love her as well.

"I hope you aren't drenched... It is rainy"

"Not a whit dear, I am okay... This place is really cool, I will love to tour round your pack-house.. It's lovely and huge." Carl told us as he sat, staring at every corner of the room. "And yes, why are your maids masked? Why don't you tell them to take of their mask? It's kinda scary and odd."

"That's how we dress here, do you have problem with it?" I asked him and he smiled.

"Not really! I just find the whole thing odd... Red dressing, red lights, red decorations and masks.. Well, it's makes it look unique."

"Shall I get you a cup of water?"

"Not you Harper... I don't want you both to leave from here. One of your maids should get me a wine." He requested with a smile and I noticed that each time he smiled, it makes Virginia's cheek flush red. She cannot contain herself.

"Someone should get a wine." Virginia ordered.

"Not just someone! That lady should get it." He pointed at Joan. Virginia and I glanced at each other before turning our gaze back to Carl. How did he notice Joan from where he is sitting is the question.

"Joan is a guard not a maid. She is only very skilful at fighting and defending, she doesn't know how to serve a drink." I quickly told him.

"You don't even have to worry... Here's your favorite wine, you will love it." Virginia has already gotten the wine. This is one of the ability she possesses and I know she only wants to showcase her powers. Virginia is already angry because Carl is not taking his eyes off the entrance anymore. He is staring at the masked Joan.

"Carl!!" She almost yelled but Carl jolted up. It is obvious that he was lost in thought. "I have gotten your wine. Don't you want to tour the pack house? Let's go." Virginia changed her tone because she doesn't want to anger Carl. This is the most she can do, she is only taming herself for whom she loves. She doesn't want to lose Carl and that why she is being lenient. Alpha Virginia is not a kind of person that calms down when she gets angry. She vents it immediately by destroying things and attacking whoever angers her. I looked at her and signals her to calm her nerves.

"Oh yea! This is my first time visit, I should tour. But can she come with us?" Carl stood up.

"Sure! Harper... Carl wants you to tour with us, do you mind?"

"No! Not Harper, I mean that lady." He pointed at Joan again.

"But why?" I and Virginia asked simultaneously.

"You just said she is a guard... She can come with us as our guard, what do you think?"

"No she cannot... You have come here as a visitor and that too for the first time, you don't know how things work here. Try to watch our steps as it's your first time of visit." I can't control myself and that is why I spoke so harshly to him. I don't care if Virginia gets angry at me. Carl is crossing the line, I don't know why he is picking on that girl but I am not comfortable with all that.

"Oh! I am sorry... Pardon me." Carl held his ears, making me burst into a loud laughter. I understand what he is doing. "Why the laughter?"

"Pardon me!" I told him while still chuckling.

"You don't have to apologize Carl, shall we go now?"

They day went by very fast, Carl and Virginia spend a whole lot of time together discussing and engaging in different activities. I watched both of them from the terrace as they laughed and played in the rain, it was a lovely moment I am sure Virginia will never forget. He is an alpha with no Luna, for him, Virginia can give up her Alpha title to become his Luna. I have never seen Virginia as happy as she is today. This will be her happiest moment and I hope it never ends.

"Harper!" I heard my name from downstairs and I rushed down. Carl is already on his horse, he is about to leave and I can see in Virginia's eyes that he doesn't want him to leave.

"I will come to visit you another day!" Carl said as he whipped the horse and it galloped away with Virginia waving at him.

"Joan!! Joan!!" Virginia shouted her name and she rushed down to the hall falling into her knees.

"Greetings to the greatest Alpha, I am here." She bowed.

"Alpha Carl, who just left... How is he related to you?" Virginia has already brought out her sword from the sheath.

"Pardon me Alpha, I don't know whom you are talking about." She said, her voice trembling.

"Alpha Carl Moonstone, he has been staring at you and I don't like it. Whenever he stares at you, I want you to do something that will make him hate you for the rest of his life. I want you to make him hate you."

"Your wish is my command Alpha. I shall do as you say, just spare me." She cried.

"That is not the best option Virginia... No matter what Alpha Carl is not going to hate her by seeing her everyday. I think she should become a kitchen maid, she will live in the kitchen as from now on where Carl is not going to see her." I suggested. I didn't want that girl to jinx my aunt's happiness and this is the only way to avoid that. If she becomes a kitchen maid, she will never see Carl and Carl will never see her.

"You are right Harper, we should not let her come to sight again... You shall submit your sword and armour today, you are no more a guard or a warrior. You are now a kitchen maid, who will cook for the whole pack."

"Take her to the kitchen and give her some work to do. No work no food and if she tries to steal cut the arm of one of her soldiers." She said with an angry expression.

"Yes, Alpha."
