11 Visible Lies

Abriella was silent for a moment and didn't say anything when she realized that she had re-entered the dream related to David. There was a slight feeling of relief because she was reunited with David. But on the other hand, Abriella is afraid if dreaming of David is a sign where she feels traumatized again.

"Hello?" The voice broke the silence between them, especially for Abriella who had come back from her daydream.

"I don't know if spirits can daydream..." And the words that came out of David's mouth, managed to make Abriella quickly look at him. The woman rose from her position and walked over to David who smiled faintly at her.

"I told you if I'm not a spirit!" Abriella insisted that she was not a spirit to David. Despite the reality in the dream, Abriella was indeed a spirit. Abriella could only see David nodding his head, sipping his coffee.

If only Abriella didn't have the compassion and heart, she would have banged David's head so that the coffee spilled onto his face. But unfortunately, Abriella is not that heartless to hurt the spirit in her dream who has become a living human.

"So... Where have you been all this time?" Again, David was the first to break the silence between them. He first asked Abriella who seemed often lost in thought at the moment.

Abriella shrugged her shoulders then replied, "Well… Just doing my usual activities, I'm staying in the hospital and…" Abriella stopped talking, she remembered that David didn't know she was still alive. She turned his head to look at David, who was still watching her intently.

Abriella then chuckled softly and cleared her throat. She scratched the back of his neck gently and looked up at the roof to his right for another reason that at least David could accept that she was a ghost.

"Hm… I went for a walk." Abriella answered nonchalantly, making David frown and look at Abriella with a narrowed look.

David also asked curiously because he clearly remembered how the last time Abriella was before disappearing from his sight. "Isn't… your last condition yesterday was very, very painful? You just disappeared while grimacing holding your left chest!" David said to Abriella who now pursed her lips when she heard those words.

David actually knew that Abriella was just looking for an excuse from him, he heard clearly the answer from Abriella about the previous hospital. But David only followed the line of Abriella's lies, because he wanted to know the real reason she lied to him.

Abriella tried to find another reason that she had to explain to David immediately, but she who was still confused because she had suddenly returned to dreaming of David couldn't think clearly, so she carelessly explained to the man in front of her.

"I don't remember what happened, and suddenly woke up while I was in... Um, the hospital. And I went for a walk after that." Abriella did tell the experience honestly, but who would have thought if Abriella's words were believed by David who now nodded his head and took another sip of his coffee, before finally putting the glass on the table and walking towards one of the file cabinets in that room.

Abriella was still standing beside the sofa earlier, or rather she was floating at this moment because her feet didn't touch the floor at all and didn't move when she stepped, but just flew away. Abriella also felt a little strange because she was moving as if she was on a skateboard with a slow walk.

"Well if it's like that, I don't need to think too much about your leaving right? Because in the end, you will come back to see me." Abriella quickly turned to David who had just spoken with all the confidence that enveloped her, which made Abriella chuckle softly. Not because of admiration, but tired of seeing the high self-confidence that David professes.

The man named David Wagner walked over to Abriella again and put a file on the table in front of the sofa, making Abriella turn to look at the file and read it.

'Permission to open a new branch store.'

Abriella's eyes looked back at David who now folded his arms forward and looked at Abriella very casually then he nodded slowly at the woman who was now confused by David's intentions.

"What's this?" Abriella asked innocently, making David exhale and lower his hands. He took the file and showed it to Abriella who frowned.

"This is the application file to open a new branch of the shop that I own!" David explained to Abriella who nodded her head knowing that the file was indeed a file for permission to open a new branch.

"Yes, I know what file it is. But what I'm asking is, why did you give this to me?" Ask Abriella to the point.

But the question made David take a deep breath and ruffle his hair slowly. 'Could it be that this ghost has forgotten what we talked about last time?' David asked in his heart, looking at Abriella who was looking at him questioningly.

"Didn't you say that you would help me with these files since you are an experienced secretary?" Abriella opened her mouth not too big, she felt like a fool now for having forgotten their agreement, the last time she dreamed of David.

Abriella then tried to seriously talk to David now, "O-oh... Right, I forgot about it. Forgive me!" Said Abriella who said sorry to David and flew over to the man, then took the file in David's hand with both hands.

However, once again... Abriella looked stupid in front of David, the second time. When she forgets that she is a ghost, she snatches the file from David's hand which now just falls to the floor when she picks it up.

In contrast to Abriella who felt like the stupidest person at the time, David actually thought it was adorable and was happy to see how Abriella's very expressive expression was.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" Abriella said back and immediately picked up the file that had fallen on the floor. While David just smiled and nodded his head, accepting the apology that Abriella shouldn't have said because there was nothing bad that Abriella had done so David didn't think she should apologize like that.
