A PLAN

Bracer opened the door of the physics laboratory. “Hatchet”, he groaned. Hatchet was Bracer’s only friend if you ignore the fact that he was ten years elder than Bracer and also his physics lab, assistant.

As of now, Hatchet was buried behind numerous cartons frantically searching for something, he squinted as Bracer came in, “Ah- Bracer, come in, come in”.

Hatchet was a young man in his early twenties, he had shiny black eyes and hair that matched them. Most of the time he wore a grin on his clean-shaven face.

"What you lookin' for?"

"The stupid voltmeter".

"It's beside your foot", Bracer pointed.

"This thing?", Hatchet asked, picking it up and waving it.

"Yeah, that thing".

"Wasn't this a thermometer"

"Hatchet, let me ask you again. Whom did you kill to get this job".

Hatchet stared at Bracer and simpered, "Messing with you".

"So, you sent for me?"

"As a matter of fact, yeah I did. I was wondering if you would like to go to the museum tomorrow. There is a really good one that has opened up, about the food I guess".

"No thanks. I think I'll pass".

"I insist", he said nodding his head.

******

Hatchet slumped into his seat until he heard the footsteps fade away. Once he was sure Bracer was nowhere close he got up from his seat and bolted the door from the inside and took out the device from his drawer.

"This is Agent Hawk, does anyone copy?"

The device crackled to life, "Yes agent Hawk we read you loud and clear, what are the stats, over".

"Meeting has been fixed, tomorrow six-thirty at a museum. Sending you the coordinates soon, over".

"Very well Agent Hawk, the team will report an hour before the extraction. We have an intelligence report suggesting that we aren't the only ones on lookout for the boy. Be advised, watch your backs at all times, over".

"I understand".

"May the flame be with you Agent Hawk, out".

The device disconnected, Hatchet pulled out his pistol from the drawer and cleaned the muzzle with his handkerchief, he was going to need it.
