"You are not leaving him in jail to spend the night again, are you?" Martha almost broke a sweat in her perfectly made up face.

"It's 11p.m. Of course, I am. Bye, mother"

"Don't you dare hang up…"

Asher dropped the call. He checked the time and it was too late to call Jacob. He closed his laptop and made his way back to the apartment. When he entered the bedroom, Pepper was tossing from what looked like a nightmare.

He took off his slippers and he got into bed with her. Asher pushed the hair away from her face as she was sweating profusely. 

It only confirmed what he already know, Pepper Hart the woman he calls his wife was far from fine.

Pepper opened her eyes and for a moment she was grateful it was just a dream. She wondered how long she would keep on having the same nightmare of what happened with Waylen before it stopped.
