The Bounty Game

When prey is cornered it fights back, when the underdogs are suffocated they devour the topdogs from beneath their noses. Here every student has a price to their name tags, the more brutal the student the bigger the bounty. It's full anarchy as prey claws at the necks of their predators for a chance at survival in BOUNTY HIGH. 

 Every year at least one students from KBS Senior High School dies or committs suicide due to bullying. On the 12th of December 2022 Kang Ji-won a grade 11 model student was found dead hung in her classroom. The police quickly drew the curtains on the case and tagged it suicide and few weeks later the Academy had cleared every trace of the incident. It was my first year in high school but it wasn't as shity as the next. 

 A new system had begun, a system that will eventually come to be superior to our educational system. A system that branded our school its new title "The Bounty High". It was a system of the hunter being hunted. The rebellion of the bullied. It was full and anarchy and some did it for the money while others did it for freedom.

 The first bounty game was like any other game played on xxx--- xxx is the anonymous app created for KBS senior high students only, nobody knew who created neither could anyone remember when it was created. It's just somehow... happened. It was so secretive that even the admins and creators we are only known as "The Association" and it made for the perfect place to express your thoughts without having to fear the attachment of a nametag or who would be coming for you. Then just like that... One day a post read:

"TARGET: Park Il-Seong

AGE: 18 years old

CLASS: Grade 11 class B

STATUS: predator

PREY COUNT: 4

BOUNTY: ₩270, 000

INSTRUCTIONS:-

* The target's index fingerprint would be needed as evidence for verification at point X.

* Point x will be the location to claim bounty and will be released 10 minutes after hunt begins. 

* Upon verification the hunt will be complete and the hunter/hunters will be rewarded the Bounty. 

* After every 12 hours of unsuccessful hunting, the bounty will be reduced by 20%. 

* After successful hunting the target will be eliminated (expelled from KBS senior high).

 Park Il-Seong was my classmate but from a different room---room B. He was rather and underling compared to the other bullies and he had spent the whole of his first year trying to please the higher ranks. At least he had become a predator to 4 preys, that should have worth something but they were all girls so it didn't worth much. He was total scum, a perverted little fucker that rode on the coattails of the higher ranks but I guess that was all about to change. 

 It was only about 10 minutes into lunch break and everyone was confused and on the edge. The post initially came off as a bluff and even Il-Seong laughed it off until the clock started running and the hunt begun. Every prey, every single prey in the cafeteria that day were not planning on using their forks as cutlery. The cafeteria was mess, it was literally a scene from a zombie movie. One could see the anger reflected in each and every of those weaklings that so desperately clawed at Il-Seong but to no avail. Even if he wasn't up the ranks, Il-Seong was still a predator after all.

 Me? Where was I doing this ruckus? Well...enjoying the view. But it was such a shame that as soon as the bell rang so was the hunt put on pause and everyone retired to their classrooms. I really don't know much of what happened next though, everyone says that Il-seong's dearly beloved high ranks had kicked him out and we're enjoying the show too. They refused to help him and enjoyed how he quivered in fear. Well I guess that's not much of a surprise since there is no much trust between those blood thirsty demons.

 At the end of the day the hunt continued into the night. Il-Seong was beaten into a pulp and dragged to point x where two hunters claimed the bounty and no one ever heard from him again. No one knows what has become of Park Il-Seong. And that was my second year in senior high.
