I was walking to the back door of the kitchen to see if Gracie would spare another bread roll until I heard her shouting to go to the front gates quickly. " Peter, run to the front gates, the guests are here!"

" Guess I'll have to wait for that bread roll," I laughed to myself as I ran to the gates ready to open them when the carriage gets closer. When I opened the gate I got a good look at the carriage, the lord was not joking about them being of high status. The outside was dressed in dark velvets and strands that looked of gold, the horses were well taken care of and dressed up with bells and red ribbons. I quickly shut the gate behind the carriage and ran ahead up to the house to wait to take care of the two horses.

The driver got down from his seat and handed me the reins without meeting my eyes. He was dressed in high commoner clothes, he opened the small door to let whoever was in there out. Out stepped a common height man with short dirt-colored hair, his clothes were the same as the carriage he came in.

" Ah, welcome old friend, it has been too long, how are you?" The lord said excitedly as he walked out the front door. I jumped slightly as his voice came out of nowhere. As the lord approached I quickly stepped out of the way towards the horses. As the two lords talked and walked back into the house I noticed one of the horses was trying to eat my hair I swiftly pulled away.

" Oh, be careful, Daisy there will eat anything she can," The driver said before he walked to the door and went inside.

" Seriously, now he tells me," I mumble annoyed. I unhooked both of them and moved to the other side so Daisy couldn't eat my hair or clothes and let the two over to the water trout and tied them there. I left for the shed and came back with arms full of hay which I put at their feet. " Now, that you two are taken care of," I said to the two who kept on eating, I hopped onto the fence beside Daisy and started talking to them. "I've been thinking," I began, " Do you think I should leave here, I mean I have nowhere else to go but I'd figure something out, Daisy, what do you think?" I asked. She shook her head in a way to make the flys go away but I still took it as a yes. " It's settled then, I'll escape tonight,"
