I will sign it

"I don't like repeating myself," he replied, staring at her and passing the document to her.

"I just told you I don't want to—"

"You should ask your father," he cuts in, surprising Avery and whatever she was going to say got swallowed up because of his interruption.

If he had a choice, he wouldn't have agreed to this. He is not interested in something like this too.

"I thought I gave you and your father enough time to figure things out," he rasped in his deep baritone voice.

His eyes lazily looked at Avery. Avery couldn't find her voice because, right now, she felt betrayed. She was going to sign the contract just like that?

"And if you refuse, I will sue your father in court for breach of contract, and I can assure you that your entire family will suffer,"

Sebastian assured her in his deep soothing voice.

"I will sign it," Avery cuts in, not liking the way he was threatening her.

Since it's a contract marriage, she will work hard to pay the money and leave him and everyone else. Her career was at hand, and she still has her reputation to keep and uphold.

She briefly thought about what everyone would say if her colleagues suddenly found out that she was getting married. She wasn't a fan of love anymore, so this is a blessing, plus the man is handsome and wealthy.

"I will sign it," she repeated, her voice calm and angelic.

"Good girl," Sebastian said as she tossed the documents lying on the glass table at her.

Avery didn't know if she was supposed to take that as a compliment or as mockery, but she collected the document.

She sat down and began to read the contract in her mind. She was glad to see that they would be doing their things separately and sleep in separate bedrooms.

'This is good,'she thought as she continued to read and then sign them.

#Party A and Party B must adhere to the rules; if anyone goes against the rules, the other party could sue the other and pay for damages.

#Party A and Party B should not try to get into a relationship that will lead to scandal.

And this made Avery scoff. She wasn't a fan of love, so this is fine with her. She is not interested in any man for now because she will be busy chasing her career.

#Party A and Party B will not consummate their marriage but foreplay and other things may take place if both party agreed.

Avery coughed out loud when she read the last statement. The funniest part is that it was written with a pen and not typed like the rest of the document.

"Did he wrote this?" Avery thought as she looked at him sideways across the table. Her face was as red as tomatoes.

"God, I want to cry," Avery said in her mind as she read the last part of the contract.

She signed the documents and gave the papers back to him. They were only married on paper, so it's fine with her. As long as the debt is paid, she will be free, but foreplay?

'Of course, I won't be doing any of that,' Avery assured herself and stood up.

"Can I go now?" Avery asked. She watches him keenly.

"Yes, the butler will show you to your room," Sebastian replied, taking the document with him as he stood up too.

His height towered over Avery, and she could see that the man was well built. Not too lean, not too thick.

"Just the way I want my man" she thought grinning, not until realization dawn on her.

She scold herself and shook her head in denial.

'He is definitely not my spec. Avery! Get a grip'

"I mean, can I go back to my apartment?" Avery asked again, trying to check if Sebastian didn't hear her well or the devil was playing games with her.

"You were trying to escape before Avery. The butler will show you to your room," Sebastian said and left, turning his back to Avery while she watched his retreating figure.

"He caught me," she said aloud, shrugging her shoulders.

She was a little bit sad right now. She will be stuck here for now until the wedding take place?

The butler came back to the spacious sitting room to show Avery to her room. She was amazed by the interior of the room. The bed draped in one corner of the room is a king-sized bed with a cream-colored duvet draped on it.

The room is screaming money, but Avery's mind is preoccupied with something else.

'Why did you sign the contract, Avery?' She asked herself. Staring at her reflection in the mirror, she looked like a scared kitten. Her cheeks were tainted red, and her lips were more rosy like a cherry.

Right now, she wanted to scream loudly for the world to hear. Her plan has been sabotaged, and it seems she will have no choice but to comply with the marriage.

Something she wasn't interested in, and now her father had dragged her into it.

"I should have ignored it, right? And just told him I wouldn't be signing the contract." Avery lamented with her upper lips raised.

She knew she had a soft heart, and maybe that is why everyone now leverages on her weakness.

"Getting married to a man I met a night ago? No, this must be a joke, or I must be dreaming," she said in doubt before adding.

"Should I take a nap and try to see if I will find myself sleeping soundly in my apartment?" she thought as she pinned one of her fingers on the corner of her lips.

Her brows furrowed as she thought hard about what to do. She was contemplating in her mind, but even her thoughts were now becoming fuzzy.

Avery pushed the suitcase to stand beside the wardrobe as she took off the hat on her head. She removed her shoes and placed her feet on the tiled floor, which looked like it was made of diamonds.

Maybe it is, but she doesn't care actually. At least, she will still chase her career since she won't be consummating the marriage. There will be no pregnancy, so it's fine.

"Once I pay off his debt, I will be free,"

"Then it's fine, actually; I have nothing to lose," she assured herself as she jumped on the fluffy bed, resting her back on it.

She stares at the ceilings for several hours, thinking before sleep engulfs her. Throwing her into an unfamiliar place.

Unknown to Avery, someone had come into the room to look at her. After the intruder made sure she was indeed asleep, the figure disappeared from the room as if he hadn't been there before.
