Her comeback

She turned around to look at the person who had dared touch her in that manner, but Avery was disappointed when her eyes met his.

Her brows furrowed as she clenched her fist in pain.

"Logan?" Avery muttered in a low voice while Logan held his balls like some fragile lamb.

Avery held herself back to let Logan get accustomed to the pain she had inflicted on him.

"Hello, Avery," Logan said, trying everything possible to mask the pain he felt in his groin. He is a man after all, so he needed to ensure how to take care of himself later.

"Is there a problem, Logan, and why would you hold me like that?" Avery snapped in rage. Her tone is crisp and cold, like a block of ice.

She had thought she wouldn't be seeing him after the incident that took place in the club that night, but who knew he had the audacity to stop her? Right here.

"Don't be so mean, Avery. Don't you miss me?" Logan asked, giving Avery a flirtatious look.

"What do you mean by getting married? Did you actually have a man you were dating? Is he the same man I met that night?" Logan asked, acting as if he hadn't heard both the two sisters talking.

Logan has to make up an excuse to leave Jessica. Logan knew if he hadn't taken the second elevator, then he wouldn't be able to meet Avery on the way like this.

"And do I owe you an answer?" Avery asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she shut her lips.

However, Avery wondered if the man Logan was talking about was Sebastian.

"Did they meet that night?" She wondered.

"If that will be all," Avery added, turning to get to the entrance as soon as possible.

She felt suffocated. A drop of sweat broke on her back, traveling down to disappear under her buttocks. Her breathing was becoming more ragged when she remembered the way she felt that particular night.

Logan chasing her with her mind fuzzy. A foreign emotion and desire in an unfamiliar place. Avery had thought, the moment she came across Logan, that she was going to jail him for what he had done.

"I'm just a coward," Avery muttered under her breath as she walked forward with her bag clutch in her hand and her sunglasses still in the right places.

However, unknown to Avery, Logan was still following her. A hand suddenly grabbed her shoulder from behind.

Avery turned instantly, and before she could ask anything, a resonating slap landed on Logan's cheek out of reflex.

Gasps and murmurs filled the room as the staff passing by stopped to check on whatever conflict they had with each other.

Their eyes widened in shock while some of the staff sitting at their desk concentrated on what they were doing. Minding their business.

Logan didn't rub his cheek. He wouldn't dare move his fingers as he watched Avery with a weird smile gracing his lips. It felt as if a cold bucket of water was poured on him.

"Why would you touch me, Logan?" Avery asked in an anger. Her eyes held seriousness, and her lips parted as she waited for Logan to reply.

The staff watched in horror because they hadn't seen Avery act like this before, but Avery didn't stop as she parted her lips again.

"You thought I forgot what you did?"

Logan could only watch, but inside, he wanted to rip her apart for giving him this kind of weird attention.

He knew if it was someone else, then the offender would not see the sunrise the next morning.

"Leave me alone, Logan. Don't you dare cross the line again," Avery warned, walking out of the building in her high heels.

And this time, Logan didn't bother to dare follow Avery again.

Such confidence! He faced the workers and saw some of them holding their phones in their hands.

Logan walked towards one of them in rage and caught one phone in his hand. He smashed it on the floor. They didn't dare scream as they watched the phone shatter on the floor.

"Delete all the videos!" Logan rage. The staff members scrambled in their seats as they tried to delete the videos. Logan walked away in a rage.

"I will tear you apart, Avery," Logan muttered slowly, stepping into the elevator.

Avery was welcomed by the beautiful sun rays outside. Despite the slap she gave Logan, she didn't feel any better.

"The nerve of that guy."

"Take me back," Avery said after getting into the back seat. Connor copied the message and started the car engine, driving out towards the street.

The ride was long, but Avery didn't let that bore her out as she rested her head on the back seat. Taking a quick nap.

The moment Connor drives into the underground garage. He got out of the car and opened the back seat door, but Avery was still sleeping.

Connor found it strange as he kept looking at Avery. Not leaving her side.

He couldn't stop wondering if this was how humans usually sleep, but there was no one he could talk to or ask.

After waiting for several minutes and seeing no sign of Avery waking up, Logan refused to leave her side. His phone rings in his pocket.

Connor took the phone out and picked up the phone. "Hello, young master," Connor said over the phone.

"Where is she, and where are you, Connor?" Sebastian asked on the phone.

"I'm waiting for Miss Avery to wake up. She is sleeping," Connor said, his eyes not leaving Avery for once.

Sebastian furrowed his brows hearing this. He raked his hand through his in bewilderment at the sudden realization that Avery was sleeping soundly inside the car. He cleared his throat before answering.

"Waiting for her? Is something wrong" Sebastian asked.

"No sir"

I will be there," Sebastian replied calmly, pressing the red button.

He picked up his car keys and bid the woman in front of him goodbye. Giving her some excuse.

After a 30-minute drive, Sebastian arrived at the underground garage. He walked towards Connor in his long strides.

"Where is she?" Sebastian asked, his eyes bared of any emotions.

"Here sir"
