1 Chapter 1

Yun Mei was born to family who always makes her suffer, her mother died at a young age after she was born and so her relatives labelled her as bad luck. Her father who at that time was working on a company, got forced to quit due to the company's announcement of bankruptcy. But he didn't gave up and continued finding a job which later landed him on the current company he is working as a divisional manager, due to his time finding work he neglected his daughter to which resulted of her being taken care of by her grandparents.

As yun mei grew, her grandparents died leaving her to the care of her father which is now remarried to the ceo's daughter. They had a son and daughter which her father gave much attention, and her stepmom who she thought will treat her well actually was the opposite. Her step mom spoiled their kids while leaving her with nothing but old things or things her kids would throw away. She hated yun jia and made her work like a maid in their own house as "payment" for giving her a home.Yun mei didn't complain and followed, but she gave her best to find a job which is her only solution to finding her freedom.

"Mei! Where are you?!!" Yun mei immediately woke up and ran down. As soon as she arrived, she was greeted by her mom Yun An. "Did you just woke up? Didn't you know its already 9 in the morning! Breakfast should have been ready!" her step mom added now placing both her hands on her waist.

Mei gazed down, "I am sorry mother. I will cook the breakfast now."

"Tsk! You ungrateful child. Is this how you thank me after giving you food and home? You should be grateful that I took you in, even though you are not my child!" Yun An shouted and marched up towards her room.

Mei started cooking their breakfast and afterwards went up to go for a shower. As soon as cold water hit her skin, she calmed down and sigh. You ungrateful child. Is this how you thank me after giving you food and home? The words of her step mom repeated on her mind. "You think I am happy with my situation here? Wish mom had taken me with her when she died…she murmured to herself and continued showering.

When she finished changing, she came down to eat. The food left at the table were nothing but small leftovers good enough for a pet. It is fine…I need this for my energy to do my work, so that I can save money and go out of this hellish place, she thought and sat down to eat the remaining food. Afterwards, she washed the dishes and cleaned the house.

Her father who was always at work was not present all the time so he doesn't know what was happening to his daughter, either that or he choosed to be blind due to his new wife. Her step siblings, only 3 and 4 years younger than her didn't show her respect.

Yun Tao first born son of Yun An, was already in his freshman year in college and already being looked at by their grandfather to succeed the family business. While Yun Fei a senior on her middle school is planning to follow her brother in business career. The two came down to watch television as Yun Mei was sweeping the floor. Yun Fei came with an idea and looked at her brother who only shrugged and continued watching the television. Yun fei smirked and ate the chips she was holding lazily,making crumbs of it fall down the floor.

"Hey stupid, you missed a spot here. Clean it before I tell you to mother" Yun Fei said nonchalantly and continued eating while watching the tv, Mei looked at the crumbs and swept it. After a while Yun fei called her again."Tsk, stupid. Why can't you clean well? I will definitely tell you to mother" she shouted and walked out of the living room.

It is not even my fault, why not eat your chips well you- her thoughts were cut off when Yun Tao called her.

"Mei I am thirsty, prepare a juice for me" he said still watching the tv. Mei nodded and followed.

While she was preparing to take the juice to Tao, Yun An came down stumping and slapped Mei suddenly.

"You fool! Why can't you clean well the house and even hurt my daughter?! You really want to die!" An shouted again.

Mei fell to the floor holding her face and the pitcher of juice now broke into pieces on the floor. "I am sorry mother…I will clean it up again…and…I apologize to Fei for hurting her," she said still looking down the floor.

Yun An didn't utter a word and left while Yun Fei smirked and gave her a tongue out afterwards followed her mother asking to go shopping. Mei slowly picked up the broken glass and was surprised when Tao was beside her helping her pick up the broken pieces.

"Don't look surprise, I just want to have my juice and have you leave out of my sight" Tao said as if sensing her questioned look. Mei smiled and made a new juice afterwards.

Mei was busy sketching clothes when she realized the sky getting dark. Oh no! I was occupied with my sketches that I forgot the time…I wonder what time is it now? She thought and glaced at the clock. Its 4 in the afternoon, she immediately changed her clothes and went out without leaving a note. She knew her family wouldn't care, she ran fast to arrive at her work at mcronalds. It was already 12 midnight when she finished her work and changed shift, she came home slowly entering her room and fell asleep. When 4 in the morning came, her clock alarmed and she changed her clothes fast. Now she started her other work by delivering newspaper, its a tiring day for her all the time but she needed it for her dream.
