68 Just A Feeling

Isabelle

"Is there a reason you decided to just take a walk?" I asked as I held Sterling's hand tightly.

"Nope." He shook his head. "I just figured the fresh air might be nice for us right now. Just a little breather."

"Okay." I nodded.

We proceeded to continue walking down the sidewalk. It was the weekend and we had been given the day off. Sterling started the day cooking me breakfast and now here we are walking the streets of Nashville.

We came across the bakery that had been shut down. The for sale sign was now out of the window. I felt a new tinge of disappointment inside of me. There was no telling what was going to come of this place now.

"Someone bought it." I pursed my lips together. "I hope they make good use of it."

"I'm sure they will." Sterling responded.

"What makes you so sure?" I questioned him.

He looked at the building and then at me. "Just a feeling I guess. That and I'm a Tipton, if something goes in that sucks I'll just shut it down."

"You wouldn't." I furrowed my brows as I called his bluff.

"Maybe I wouldn't, maybe I would." He smirked. "Only time will tell, now come on."

He pulled us away from the building and led us further down the street. There were a lot of people out and about. Of course it was the weekend, this was to be expected.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I don't know." He shrugged. "Just wherever our feet take us."

"Is that very smart?" I questioned further. "You're a Tipton, shouldn't you be careful so that no one tries to come and bug you?"

"That's what Marcus is for." Sterling motioned to the man in the suit walking a couple feet behind us.

"Is that your security?" I raised a brow.

"Yes." He nodded. "I prefer my privacy so I only have him around when he's needed. Right now my father feels like it's important to have our security around, especially if there's a slight chance Elise will go crazy and try to approach us."

"I see." It made sense.

The fact Sterling's security wasn't as noticeable was more of a surprise to me. The Tipton's are the most known family in the state of Tennessee, hell they're known all over the world because of their business.

"I was thinking of getting a guard for you." He spoke seriously.

"I don't know if that's necessary Sterling." It's not like I'm one of them, I'm just his girlfriend. "I'm more of a nobody."

"You're wrong." The serious look in his eyes only intensified. "The fact you're with me is enough to have someone watching over you. My mother had a guard who helped keep her protected when she was dating my father, I feel it's only necessary to take the same steps for you."

I pondered the idea in my mind. I had a feeling that he wasn't going to take no for an answer on this one. He had also made a valid point, the fact that we weren't exactly hiding our relationship did make me a target.

Not just for Elise either. Sterling was the heir of Tipton Enterprises and well, he's hot as hell. There's plenty of people online who would kill to have his attention. In this day in age I wouldn't put it past some of them to try either.

"Fine." I agreed. "I just would prefer whoever is chosen to not be all over my business please."

Like Sterling, I enjoyed my privacy. I didn't want anyone to hover over me or try to make me answer for where I was wanting to go. I just wanted them to do their job and let me do my thing.

"Of course." He seemed a little relieved that I wasn't going to protest this. "I'll go through our guards with my father and Cody to make sure we get you the best fit."

"Okay." I appreciated that he was taking my safety so seriously. "I love you."

He placed a soft kiss on my lips. "Good, I love you too."

We continued on walking, looking at each little shop we passed. Sterling of course did get recognized a few times. He was polite and said hello but moved on quickly.

After a little while longer he finally decided to turn around and headed back to the penthouse. Once we were back Sterling excused himself to go check on something on his computer.

I sat down on the couch and my phone began to ring in my purse. I pulled it out and noticed Noami's name on the screen. I quickly answered it and placed it to my ear.

"Hey." I greeted her. "How are you?"

"I'm doing good." She responded. "What about you?"

"Pretty well actually." I smiled.

Besides all the Elise drama things were going well. Sterling and I are happy and in a good place. I couldn't ask for anything else right now really, besides the obvious drama to go away. But that would be gone eventually.

"Good." She paused for a moment. "I need to talk to you about something."

"Okay. What is it?" She had my full attention, that's for sure.

"Remember how I told you about the group of guys and one of their friends just happened to have hooked up with Satan?" Noami asked.

"Yeah." I had a feeling where she was going with this, I just hoped I was right. "What about him?"

"The regular guy finally came in again." She informed me. "I worked my magic and I managed to get you some details."

"Like what?" I was antsy to find out what she had gotten.

"Can you meet me?" She asked.

"Of course." I answered quickly. "I'll see what's going on over the next few days and I'll get back with you."

"Sounds good." Noami responded.

She and I continued talking for a few more minutes before she had to go. Once we hung up I began to look at my calendar. Any information to take Elise Tunt down was worthy of making time for.
