4 *FIERY TEMPER*

"K-king?." She whispered and both of them turned to her at the same time.

"So you speak." Her master spoke as his eyes showed a slightly surprised expression.

"No milady, you must have misunderstood me. He's not the king, it's just what I call him because of his character." The black haired man smiled nervously and she gave a side glance to her master who didn't bother to comment.

"The name's William by the way and this man by your side is my elder brother Alexander." He smiled as usual and she returned the smile.

"My name is Bethany." She replied, her smile following soon after.

She just hatched a plan. A beautiful one at that. If her master so wanted her to talk, then she was going to talk to everyone but him.

She was more than shocked when William had said that her master was the king, though it was believable, it was just too shocking. The fact that he had withdrawn his statement so quick made it even more suspicious.

"Stop giving the slave ideas and get the hell out of my way." Her master fumed and walked passed his brother, his steps firm against the floor.

"What's wrong with him?." She pursed her lips and balled her fists. It had been really long since she had given an idiot a punch.

"He tends to get like that sometimes." He shrugged and continued"You really have a beautiful voice like the rumours." He added and she nodded her head, the compliment not affecting her at all.

"Thank you."

"Follow me." He stretched his hand out as he led her into the large palace.

Here she was. One step closer to her goal.

"You have to be careful here as the castle houses our kind, one of the most dangerous species in the kingdom." He explained as he strolled ahead and Bethany remembering her place bowed her head down and walked a foot's distance away from him but not without asking what was on her mind.

"The king, is he your kind?."

He laughed first before replying"Nobody knows what our king really is. That's how mysterious he is. But one thing we know is to not get on his bad side. He kills without mercy."

She knew what their kind were. She had witnessed it with her own eyes 10 years ago. They were bloodsuckers.

Vampires.

As expected they were sinfully beautiful so as to lure in humans. To lure in prey just like her. And she had trained herself against it. To resist their charms or compelling of any form.

She winced when she mistakenly put pressure on her sprained ankle and William stopped to look at her.

"Everything alright?." He questioned, his eyes glancing to her leg for a fleeting second.

"Yes." She nodded.

"Alex will fill you in on anything else you need to know." They now approached a large door that was painted in gold with beautiful silver designs around it.

"D-do you treat all slaves like this?." She finally asked what had been weighing on her mind. She had seen things, she knew exactly how slaves were treated but this man was acting so nice it almost felt like a dream.

The smile on his face fell and he suddenly became serious"I don't. It's just that this is the first time that my brother had decided to choose a slave and believe me when I say that he has more maids than you can count. I have no idea why he bought you and at that for a large sum of money so all I'll just like to say is that be careful. My brother has a fiery temper that may be very dangerous most of the times."

Bethany suddenly felt that sickening feeling of fear creep into her.

"Good luck." He smiled and left her to be with her thoughts as she stared at the gigantic door.

After a while of critical thinking, she took a deep breath and lifted her hand, giving it a single knock.

"Come in."

Upon hearing his voice she carefully entered the room and couldn't help but gasp at it's lavish decor.

The room was bigger than houses that she had seen with her own eyes, there was a division at the middle and a door there, the bed looked like it could house more than ten people, the floor was carpeted and soft to her feet and finally two long couches at the side of the room which she saw Alex sitting on with a drink in his hand. There was that pattern again.

Gold and silver.

"You lack the basic manners of a slave." Was the first thing he said and she quickly bowed her head.

"Sorry master."

"It seems like I'll have to brief you on the rules regarding how you work and serve me." He started and she internally rolled her eyes.

"First rule. No coming out of this room without my permission, second rule. No speaking with anyone except me, third rule. Watch your attitude around others, fourth rule. Avoid getting injuries or you will definitely die here and finally the fifth rule. You answer to nobody but me."

When he was done, Bethany had to lift up her head and she had no idea when the words came out of her mouth.

"I am not following any one of your rules."

She straightened her back and gave him a hard stare

"In fact, you are going to play by my rules." She continued not noticing his change of demeanour.

"I came here for a mission and not to be anyone's toy 'master'. And also, the name's Bethany not slave."

She didn't know what devil had taken control of her but maybe it wasn't so bad. Maybe she could use this to her advantage.

"Don't test me." He growled, the glass in his hand trembling from the force in which he held it.

"Why shouldn't I? I'm not scared of you, what's the worse you can do to me!?." She taunted and the next thing that happened was too fast to comprehend. A force pushed her down to one kneel and suddenly the oxygen seemed to run out completely.

"Like i said, you have absolutely no manners." He stood up, walking to her so slow she wanted to stab him here and there if possible!

"Now tell me." He lifted her chin to meet his gaze, an angry glint danced around his eyes. She could see it. He was trying to suppress his anger.

"Why are you truly here?."
