12 Yellow envelope?

Arveion sat at the bar, twirling the ice of a shot of alcohol between his fingers.

"Another." He stressfully placed the glass on the counter only for the thing to shatter at his force and split into pieces.

"Clean that up, would you?" He said to the bartender running a finger through his sweaty hair and sighed. "Is everyone at this place fucking stupid?" He cursed at the man who stupidly stood in front of him watching the glass with fright, "S-sry sir."

He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath before downing another shot of tequila, pursued by another but as he was about to take the next, Arsan placed a hand on his shoulder and took the glass between his fingers before it could reach his lips.

"Don't you think that's enough for the day man—" Arsan gulped the liquid, trying to look manly in front of Arveion but immediately choked, holding his chest as he coughed.

"That shits nasty man." He said between coughs, placing the glass on the counter, "Can I have water? No water back there. How do you drink that shit? Are you people trying to poison me?" Arsan yelled at the bartender.

"That's for being nosy, just admit you're too pussy to stomach alcohol than blaming it on the bartender." Arveion chuckled, " And it's tequila what did you expect fucking lemonade."

"Shut up—" Arsan held his chest and resumed his calling for water, "Where's my water?"

"Bars don't sell water, you idiot!"

Arsan laughed embarrassingly at the bartender, "Sorry there man."

"So why are you here? I know it's definitely not to drink…"

"It's about the girl. Amber." Arsan cut to chase, his face turning serious knowing that Arvieon was as well.

"She shouldn't be here, Arsan. We didn't agree on this—" Arveion eyebrows furrowed by the mention of her name, he had come to the bar precisely to get away from her.

"Yeah but after you stormed off that day, it was made clear that the White-winged resort was the only eligible place to protect her though a human was not what we expected, she is still the source and we have to find out how. To do that we need to make sure she is safe and her home did not offer that protection. Evil will be after her, Arveion, Death will be after her, we have to protect her from him—"

"And suffer the consequences?! To hell with that fuckery—" He was now drunk, the topic increasing his headache and anger, "With her comes the problems, Arsan which makes problems for everyone else, it's not too long until—"

"Her problem is everyone else's, with her making a problem for everyone else, the problem comes either way,"  added Arsan.

"—It's not too long until the demons find our shield." Arveion finished and Arsan then frowned, "I'm afraid to tell you that, that is the problem."

***

Amber has been laying on the couch fighting with a chocolate bar for the past minutes, typing on her phone while 'Stranger Things' played loudly in the background, unaware of what was happening around her.

—incoming call from mom—

"Amber honey."  Chloe chimed from across the line, her voice shrill and Amber didn't have to see to know she was smiling.

"Hey, mom."

"What are you up to? Isn't this place the best!"

"Yeah, it is...I find it weird that we got slipped up though, don't you? I mean the rooms are already so big— ."

"Or...they had so many rooms that there was no need to share."

"That too." Amber trailed off, it's not like she had a problem but she couldn't shake the feeling in her guts that something was off.

"Ou, Amber sweetheart I gotta go, a really cute guy just walked in. I've got a date with a masseuse, this old back has been aching for days now, it's time for a little love! Don't tell your father."

"Oh yeah? Dad ought to be freaked out when he finds out another guy's hand has been exploring your back. I'm snitching." She joked and hung up before she could hear the pleads of her mother.

She went back to the show in front of her, her eyes slightly dozing off—Meanwhile, a shadowy figure, dressed in all black, hoodie-faced, slipped a yellow paper in front of her door before knocking and hurriedly darting towards the stairs.

Amber blinked her eyes open, awakened by the sudden knocking. She rubbed her eyes, walking towards the door only to pull it open and see no one. She walked out into the hall, "Hello anyone?" She called but as she was about to go back inside her foot kicked the piece of paper.

She picked up the paper in her hands, "I think you dropped this!" Sleep was still derived on her face, she just wanted to go back in and return to her sleep.

The halls were dark as she walked around, her eyes on the paper in her hands. 'Shit it.'She thought—she was sleepy, cold, and had no idea where she was going. Maybe there was some name on the inside to see where it belonged.

She opened the yellow envelope and removed a card that had words written in red ink:

'He will come, for he seeth all, He will come fore the war has begun. He Will comes for the blood of the one.'

Amber turned behind her, after reading the words aloud and crumbled the paper. Whoever wrote it was looking for a laugh but she wasn't the person to get it from. She stuffed the crumpled paper in her back pocket before turning back to walk to her room.

As she walked she noticed someone trying to get into her room and immediately called out, running towards the figure. "Hey, that's my room. "

The person then turned to face her and once closer the figure became more noticeable and it was clear to her that it was just a girl dressed in a bikini and a cardigan covering over.

"Sorry, wrong room!" The girl beamed, scratching her neck nervously with a wide smile on her face. She had short curly brown hair which suited her tanned skin and in her hands were towels and lotion.

"No, it's fine the rooms do look pretty much the same around here." Amber gestured to her door, "I was just a little shaken up after someone knocked on my door earlier, only to come out and see some weird note. Yeah... I thought it was you."

"Oh, that's strange so the person just knocked and left? It's probably one of the troublemakers down the hall wanting to play tricks on the newcomers. You are new right? I'm Sandy." Sandy struggled to hold the towels in one arm and reach the other out to Amber.

Amber shook her hand, "Amber. Nice to meet you." Her eyes went to the towels she had in her hand and the bikini she was wearing and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, this—" Sandy laughed following Amber's eyes, "Yeah I'm heading down to the hot tub. My friends and I are going to check out the pool tomorrow too, you should come, I'll show you around too. The place is crazy rad. Have a good night Amber."

"Thanks, see you tomorrow." Amber says," I think I'll take you up on that offer, good night Sandy."She waved before opening her room and crawling into the warmth of the bed, exhaling into the sheets.
