Chapter 63

“Father, what he said on the news was treason!” Grayson yelled in the king’s office a few moments later. Xavier was there, too.

“Yes, it was,” the king agreed. “But we have bigger fish to try at the moment. Technically, he is a part of the Royal Family.”

“It’s really a gray area,” Xavier replied. “If anyone else would have said it, then yes, it would have been treason. But since he’s a member of the Royal Family....”

“It could be argued that he was just calling our actions into question, as is his right as a fellow Royal,” Grayson finished. “But we have to do something. I have a feeling that Marcus is behind everything.”

The king sat in his leather office chair. “Yes, but we can’t go by feelings. We need hard evidence. Proof.” He looked over at Xavier. “I want you to make an announcement to the press today.” Then he glanced at Grayson. “See if you can find out who had a motive to kill Dima Franz and Ralph Barker. And if the murders are linked, we need evidence to prove it.”
